Jaguar XE to debut at the Paris Motor Show

The XE is likely to go on sale in 2015 following its global debut at the Paris Motor Show. The XE is expected to be priced in the range of GBP 29,000 (Rs 28.6 lakh) which by Jaguar standards is quite inexpensive.

It will be powered by the new 'Ingenium' range of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol and diesel units touted to be the most advanced engines the company has ever made. The Ingenium engine family is designed to run in a wide range of setups, from the standard fare of single turbo to being capable of running a twin turbo, combined turbos and superchargers as well.

   

According to rumours, Jaguar might also plonk the 3.0-litre V6 engine under the hood of the XE used in the other Jaguar vehicles. 

Design wise the car is smaller, but might have a fascia that replicates the existing Jaguar family of sedans.

   

Jaguar’s parent company, Tata, will push the brand further once the XE is launched worldwide. The relatively low sticker price will generate volumes and somewhat break free from its the niche status. Expect Tata to launch the car within six months from the date of its global launch.
