You can probably call it the Bond effect. Jaguar Land Rover said it had delivered its best ever September sales performance, this year selling 43,181 vehicles and registering an increase of 17 per cent.
One of the prime contributors to this international figures for the Tata owned company seem to be the new Range Rover Sport – launched by James Bond star Daniel Craig earlier this year. Records state that the sale of XF, XJ and Sportsbrake all contributed to a 16 per cent rise, which translates into 3,12,834 vehicles.
The Tata-owned company has done well internationally. September sales were strong for Jaguar Land Rover in the China region where sales were up by 46 per cent, North America posted a six per cent increase, the UK showed 11 per cent growth, the Asia Pacific went up by 29 per cent and other overseas markets posted 15 per cent high, the company had said recently.
"This has been another record month for Jaguar and Land Rover with significant sales growth across all major regions," said Andy Goss, group sales operations director of Jaguar Land Rover.
The good numbers are as a result of surge in sales of the XF thanks to an enhanced engine line-up and the introduction of the Sportbrake and the XJ continues to do well, particularly in China and North America, he added.
