Honda NSX showcased at the Geneva Motor Show

The Honda NSX has made its European debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, adorning the ‘H’ badge for the first time. While Acura NSX was globally unveiled earlier this year at the Detroit Motor Show, this is the first time that the hybrid mid-engined supercar has been seen in its production-ready avatar wearing a Honda badge.

Aesthetically, the NSX has absolutely bowled us over with its futuristic concept-like styling. The new NSX makes extensive use of weight saving measures and has been built around a lightweight aluminium and high strength steel chassis. The floor is made of carbon fibre which helps improve the weight balance of the car.

In case the looks alone aren’t enough to impress you, the NSX also comes with a host of technical wizardry. It is powered by a twin-turbo 75-degree V6 unit which delivers in excess of 550bhp, through a nine-speed DCT gearbox. This engine works in tandem with a hybrid electric-drive powertrain, sending power to all four wheels. The NSX also gets an Integrated Dynamic System which offers four driving modes - Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track. These modes adjust the response of the engine and the electric motors, gearbox, chassis as well as the exhaust note.

Other technicalities are still a mystery as the Japanese manufacturer has so far refrained from announcing the finer details like the prices and power figures of the new NSX. Deliveries are expected to commence by the end of this year.
