The Honda Accord has made a comeback to the Indian market after a hiatus of three years. The carmaker's flagship sedan is now here in its hybrid avatar. It is brought to India through the CBU route and so calls for a starting price of Rs 37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This picture gallery gives you an idea of what all to expect from the car.
The 2016 Accord Hybrid is the ninth-generation model. Its front-end shows a very aerodynamic design with sculpted lines making it look edgy.
The full LED head lamps feature DRLs which are nicely lit. These lights receive subtle blue accents to hint at the car's hybrid nature.
The grille sports chrome and black accents, while the front bumper gets some gloss black elements in the centre. It comes equipped with LED fog-lamps.
The edgy nature of the car can be seen at the side as well, with nicely sculpted running lines running till the boot. The highlight however is the elegantly designed 18-inch two-toned diamond cut wheels.
At the rear, the sedan gets wide LED combination tail lamps with a blue tint, again hinting at being a hybrid vehicle. Then the well-crafted bumper completes the look of the long sedan.
The cabin features two central screens, one is for the infotainment system, while the other displays engine modes and how the drive is being transmitted.
The other list of provisions for the Accord Hybrid includes two-stage climate control, cruise control, passenger side camera, and support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto amongst other things.
The new Accord features a conventional hybrid system that runs on the combination of a petrol engine and electric motor.
This powertrain pairs a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated internal combustion engine with an electric motor powered by a 1.3kW/h lithium-ion battery pack.
The petrol mill churns out a maximum of 145bhp and 175Nm of peak torque, while the electric motor puts out 184bhp and a peak torque of 315Nm. Combined power output is rated at 212bhp.
The new Accord Hybrid is offered in a total of four body colour options. This includes white orchid pearl, lunar silver metallic, modern steel metallic and crystal black pearl.
