Facelifted Nissan Micra debuts in Nepal as the March

The 2013 Nissan Micra facelift was launched in Nepal recently but under a different name. It was taken out as Nissan March. The pricing is quite steep. It has been priced at 2.85 million Nepalese Rupees (Rs 17.8 lakh) and is offered with a flat discount of 75,000 Nepali Rupee (Rs 47,000) already.

The Micra is known as March in markets such as Thailand and Japan. The India-made Nissan March will be retailed through Dugar Brothers and Sons (DBS) an authorised distributor for Nissan vehicles in Nepal. Nissan strategy for Nepal involves releasing only the top-end petrol variant as the company wanted to position it as a premium hatchback and the company hopes to sell around 300 units of the March annually.

Coming to the specifications, the Nissan March gets a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power output of 74bhp and 104Nm as torque. It is a front-wheel-drive mated to a five-speed gearbox with manual transmission. It accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in 14.5 seconds and has a top speed of 160kmph.  The March gets four-airbags and fog lights as standard, apart from safety features like ABS and EBD. In India, Nissan offers side airbags and fog lights only on the top-end diesel variant of the Micra.
