Facelifted 2014 Fiat Linea spotted testing again in Pune

Test mules of the new Fiat Linea facelift have been doing the rounds in and around Pune City for quite some-time now leading us to believe that the new car is India bound soon. In this regard, another test vehicle was spied in Pune and images of the same have been doing the rounds of the Internet.

The face-lifted model has been available in the developing markets for over six months now and so we know what to expect in terms of styling and features. The slightly camouflaged test vehicle shows the peripheral changes and the first evident alteration is to the rear registration/number plate which is on the boot lid. Previously it was mounted in the rear bumper.

Reports suggest that there would be more changes like new front grille, bumpers, reflectors and a new headlamp design as well. The tail lamp seems to be the same. On the inside the 2014 Linea might get a different dashboard and instrument panel.

Regarding the oily bits, the car will be powered by the conventional 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine and for the petrol variants, the 1.4-litre T-Jet and the 1.4-litre fire engine will be doing the running. It is also speculated that Fiat may introduce the 1.6-litre multi-jet diesel engine with this new variant.

Fiat has not been doing well in India and plans to re-invent the brand in India. As part of this strategy; they have opened a wide network of dealerships and service centres around the country to alter the brand’s perception in India. There are many expectations that this new refreshed model of the Linea will change this situation for the carmaker. There are no exact launch dates of this model but it is likely to be launched by the end of this year.
