Could these be the new prices for the facelifted VW Jetta?

Just yesterday we wrote about expecting the Volkswagen Jetta facelift in India. It seems the base model has been priced at Rs 13.70 lakh onwards according to a price list leak by CarSizzler. This is what they claim to be the price list of the refreshed line-up.

VW India has already informed dealers about the refreshed Jetta and it could be that they are looking for an early launch instead of January 2014.

The prices do not reflect much movement. While the VW Jetta facelift Diesel (ex-Showroom, Mumbai) Trendline MT will now cost Rs 14.78 lakh, the Comfortline MT will come for Rs 16.21 lakh. Earlier the Trendline MT came for Rs 14.93 lakh and the Comfortline MT came for Rs 16.41 lakh. However, for the rest of India, the prices show a little hike. While the former will cost Rs 15.03 lakh, the latter will be available for Rs 16.50 lakh.

The petrol version, (ex-Showroom, rest of India), the Trendline MT – will be priced at Rs 13.70 lakh and the Comfortline MT at Rs 15.17 lakh onwards. The Mumbai prices, meanwhile are Rs 13.48 lakh and Rs 14.91 lakh respectively.

The Mumbai prices are highly debatable and we expect that the rate that will be common to the rest of India is what we will be getting here. Given the fact that many of the parts for the vehicle are still being imported, It is highly unlikely that we see VW India reducing the prices.

The refreshed Jetta gets a new headlight with its daytime running LEDs arranged in an L-shaped manner. In terms of grille, bumpers and tail lights the design remains unchanged. Xenon headlights will feature on the Highline variant along with a headlight washer. Automatic climate control will be a standard feature on all variants now. Trendline and Comfortline variants get new ‘Sedona’ alloy wheels.

We hope for more comprehensive details on the prices closer to the launch to the facelifted VW Jetta.
