BMW has showcased a new Compact Saloon concept at the ongoing Guangzhou Auto Show. This car has been designed to preview the 1 Series saloon that was seen earlier this year tackling the Nurburgring. The concept that was shown had a snazzy bronze metallic shade with a nice a sporty front end which held the characteristic twin kidney grill along with new shape air intakes.
The BMW design traits continue on this saloon through the flared wheel arches, a traditional Hofmeister kink, polished aluminium window surrounds and stylish 20 inch alloy wheels. Interiors have the familiar dashboard with the wood and brushed aluminium inserts, Nappa leather seats, heads-up display, panoramic glass roof, touch controls and an infotainment system with an 8.8 inch display.
The rear seat can accommodate two passengers and they can access their individual climate controls. Though no details were revealed about the technical specifications, front wheel drive will be standard and the production model will be on the UKL platform.
The 1 Series saloon is an interesting proposition and will lock horns with the Audi A3 if brought to India.
