It looks like Bentley is building on the global demand for the Continental GT family with a host of design updates and additional features for its most successful model. Besides this, the British luxury marquee ihas also introduced a series of updates for its four-door Flying Spur.
Starting with the Continental GT, a new front bumper combined with a smaller radiator shell and a more pronounced fender to lend a more assertive stance to the front of the car is among the major design highlights of this new model. There are also new bright chrome fender badges for the V8 S and W12 models.
At the rear, the boot lid is now more sculpted, with a pronounced aerodynamic profile while the rear bumper has been reshaped and widened. The V8 S and GT Speed also gain a new rear diffuser design to further differentiate the performance-focused members of the Continental family. Exterior upgrades are completed with the addition of new wheels to the range of 20 and 21-inch designs.
Under the revised skin of the Continental GT W12 lie three changes to the 6.0-litre twin turbo W12 powertrain. Firstly, the engine receives a power and torque increase, from 567bhp and 700Nm to 582bhp and 720Nm. The power upgrade is accompanied by claimed improvements to fuel economy of up to 5 per cent. The GT W12 now includes a variable displacement system and the new evolution is able to run at part throttle on six of its 12 cylinders to reduce fuel consumption.
The four-door Flying Spur, on the other hand, gets new 20-inch wheels, an optional set of 21-inch wheels, updated instrument console with revised graphics. Other updates include a sportier looking steering wheel and availability of an onboard WiFi hotspot system. The 616bhp W12 engine is now said to be more efficient thanks to the variable displacement system for lower fuel consumption.
Bentley has made it official that both the updated Continental GT and the Flying Spur will be unveiled and displayed at the Geneva Motor Show starting March 3, with deliveries in Europe starting later this year.
