Audi launches 2013 R8 in India for Rs 1.34 Crore

Audi has launched the 2013 R8 in India for Rs 1.34 Crore (ex-showroom New Delhi). This facelifted model was unveiled back in July 2012 and is currently on sale in most global markets. The facelift was launched yesterday by the cast of the upcoming hindi movie Race 2 in the presence of Michael Perschke, head of Audi India in New Delhi

Changes to the 2013 model include all-LED headlamps (across all variants), redesigned grille, front bumpers and air intakes as well as a revised design for the alloy wheels. On the inside, Audi has given chrome treatment to most of the control stalks and trim as well as the paddle shifts.

Mechanical changes include a new seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox which replaces the R-Tronic automated manual. The engines will remain the same but with improved 0-100 times (roughly 0.3 seconds) thanks to the new gearbox. The base R8 gets a 4.2-litre that produces 428bhp and 430Nm of torque while the top-end model is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 producing 520bhp and 530Nm of torque.
