Aston Martin DBX concept unveiled at Geneva

Renowned British sports car maker Aston Martin has unveiled the DBX concept at the Geneva Motor Show. This is an amalgam of a coupe and a luxury grandtourer that is eco-friendly and electric. This concept features an all-electric powertrain and is the first Aston EV. 

In an interview Aston Martin CEO, Dr.Andy Palmer reveals the details about the company’s maiden attempt at making an EV.

It is powered by in-wheel motors, gets a drive-by-wire electric steering, carbon ceramic brakes, a KERS energy recovery system, and cameras in place of actual mirrors. 

The design isn’t revolutionary, but the shape is a clear departure from what we have known Astons for. It has a high-riding coupe look that looks unique for an Aston Martin, yes, it looks different. While it looks close to production form, Palmer has cleared the air by sayin,: "This is, clearly, not a production-ready sports GT car, but it is a piece of fresh, bold thinking about what Aston Martin GT customers around the world could request of us in the future.”

This is a step in the right direction for Aston Martin and with every car manufacturer working on electric cars for the future, who knows we might see a DB7 with a hybrid powertrain in the future.
