The Focus RS is powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine that produces in excess of 315bhp. This hot hatch also gets a twin-scroll turbo with a large compressor for better airflow, as well as a large intercooler. To keep it as one of the best high-performing hatchbacks, the American manufacturer has given it the best braking system ever. This third-generation Focus RS gets the innovative Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive with dynamic torque vectoring for class-leading cornering speed and at-limit handling.
Ford has equipped the Focus RS with selectable driving modes – including industry first drift mode, as well as launch control. The drift mode is a unique setting to help achieve controlled oversteer drift in track conditions. The overall changes made to the exterior of the Focus RS over previous generations has helped optimise aerodynamics and cooling, with nine per cent less drag. Focus RS is the latest vehicle to be unveiled as part of a new era of Ford performance that will bring to customers globally more than 12 performance vehicles through 2020.
“The all-new Focus RS is true to the core RS principles of innovative engineering and high performance. Driving enthusiasts have always aspired to own RS vehicles, and this is a heritage that inspires everyone within Ford," said Joe Bakaj, vice president, product development, Ford.
