2014 Mini Cooper previewed via Mini Vision concept

British car manufacturer Mini has officially unveiled the Mini Vision concept previewing the aesthetics of the next generation Mini Cooper models. This official preview follows umpteen spy shots of the car over the past few months.

The 2014 Cooper now features a revised hexagonal front grille with the fog lamps integrated to it. The conventional headlights have given way for an all-LED module with an encircling ring around it that acts as day time running lamps. The front bumper is also re-chiselled for an aerodynamic guise. The centrally mounted dual exhaust is the first striking feature on the rear of the car, which also flaunts a tailgate mounted spoiler and metallic accent. 

The interiors get symmetrical design philosophy reminiscent of all Mini models. The elastic straps replace the conventional door compartments and the new lounge-like seats feature for the first time on the 2014 Cooper. The centre console now gets a futuristic look with the new Driving Experience Control system, a feature that allows the users to adjust the lighting scheme in the cabin.

The Mini Cooper is set to be unveiled globally as part of the 2014 Los Angeles Motor Show. News of a possible Indian launch should follow soon. The brand now has a cult following in India and is considered as a premium luxury hatchback, but BMW will have to take the CKD route if they are looking to increase volumes in the entry-level premium segment that is now dominated by the Mercedes A-Class and B-Class.
