ZEN or the "zero engine noise"stands true until you hit the acclerator and find the rest yourself. It is a cool car having enough features required today.The engine delivering 60hp@6000 rpm can give you power,fuel economy,without having spending much on new cars as this discontinued babe fills all ur dreams. what u can do to make it bit more sporty n'stylish wit a performance increase too. What I did was, going for a non-motorised aftermarket sunroof,freeflow exaust kit,a RPM meter with shift-light(to give it a drag race feel evy'time),K&N Air Intake Kit,a rear spoiler,xenon HID kit(for the main headlamps),and 3xhella comet 500 mounted on the front bumper just in front of the suzuki grill. For the interiors leather seat covers,small custom steering wheel,an armrest,a DVD player a amplifier,a subwoofer, n'of course the set of 4 main speakers.Remember the exaust kit u choose should have a wide mouth lyke end to get a echo of a muscle car when u hit the throttle. Also increase from the stock 12" to 13" or even more alloy with tubeless tyres. Hydraulic doors for the front two doors can also be made lyke those in the lamborghinis which go rite up in the air above when opened. this will surely give you what you actully want.

Before starting the review I wanted to tell you that my car is 12 years old. I am the second owner , I brought this a year before at 16k kms
Exterior
The exterior of this car is very good. The paint is still on there without any defects though it stands in sun and rain until last jan I brought a cover for it.
The rust did happen in the inner A - Pillar or something right to the steering.
Apart from that there was no rust. I am sure that the car was not repainted as I have spoke to the previous owner. The stickerings and the logos are still there and a good polish is making this car a great look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The features in this car makes me think few things. This car has a remote fuel open, boot opener, trip meter. Everything except power windows and the tachometer is in there. Alto still comes without a trip meter or remote fuel lid opener. Thats surprise!!! Still didnt these basic things become mandatory ( atleast by customer's thought) in all cars.
The lightings in the speedometer area have become dim as the days passed by and I have no idea how the speedometer glasses get stained from inside and how to remove them.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
The engine is an awesome. I never felt it underpowered in the roads. But all these until a/c is switched on. The compressor takes its toll on the engine. But normal compressor cleaning and gas filling thats done at 1,200/- here solves the purpose for around 8 months or 10k kms.
The A/C cooling is still good. I fill very cold if I switch it on to the full.
The fuel economy is the boon for my kind of people moving a lot in city and looking for cheap cars.. with a/c I get 15 in the city and in the highways 17. But couple of times I have done 600km trips in this car . It returned me 21kms without a/c in highways.
The second gear is a pain in this car. You have to move it to the third which is a treat to drive.
Ride Quality & Handling
The ride quality is good in smooth roads. Being a small car its easy to drive in the city . There are few vibrations when the car starts to move.
Cant hear any exterior noise if the windows are rolled up and if your suspensions and the tyre arms are not right you could hear some noises.
Final Words
All I had to spend for this car is 1200 for a/c and and oil and coolant change twice. Nothing else. Everything is fine for 15k kms.
I know I am not reviweing a car of this decade . But a car that still competes with them. If you look for a car at a small price with great fuel economy this is the best one.
A Real Good car from Maruthi. But still wonder why things have not moved up. The alto which we have is three years old and I feel its wear and tear is much worse than the zen.
