Impressive and reliable SX4

Exterior Its robost and musculine and gives the feeling of a sedan.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quality of interior could have been better especialy the plastics. For people who are not too tech savvy its ok as it has very limited features on its dash unlike Verna. Space for driver and front passenger is good. Space for back passengers is better than its some of the siblings. Comfort level is satisfactory but could have been better. Boot space is one of the best compare to its siblings and some of the other competitor.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is proven and it is one of the best in its class yet could have been better as its the same DDiS engine being used in Swift, Dizire and now in Ertiga. Fuel economy is far below as claimed as per ARAI. On highway one can expect 18 to 19 kms/L and in city conditions 14 to 16 kms/L. Gearbox is ok and nothing great about it with 5 MT.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good but it will also depend on what kind/type of road one is using. We all are aware of our Indian road conditions, unlike in Europe and other advanced countries. The longivity of life of a vehicle purely depends on road conditions. Handling is good. At high speed also it gives full confidence that I am with you. I have gone upto 160.

Final Words I found the car is very responsive.  I am nearing 10,000 Kms now and its due for 3rd free service as I had purchased in May 2012. Till now I have not experienced any major problem and completed quiet a few long journeys. My bet with SX4 is purely personal. Following were on my paper.

Areas of improvement Power of engine, power of headlamps and its quality, Ground clearence, overall look and few gooddies on the dash to be with other competitors. ABS and Airbag should be made mendatory in all variants.
