I purchased Dzire VXi 2015 (face lift) in Bangalore by mid of April. I had a old Santro earlier, so wanted to go for the entry level sedan for which I preferred Dzire. After the purchase in 20 days I have covered 1600 kms which includes 10% city and 90% highway and also completed the first service in 1032 km. so I feed it is good enough to write a review.
Exterior
Exterior has no major changes (in VXI and VDI) when compared to the old Dzire other than retractable OVRM, other changes are just namesake.
I personally feel the gauge thickness of the sheet are less (when compared to old Santro) to reduce weight and improve mileage. The sales man himself says while closing the front bonnet just drop and do not apply force to close which will damage the bonnet. The fog lamp assembly plastic are fixed in bumper so it is not so rigid which we cannot expect also.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Interior is beach color which is very difficult to maintain black would have been better choice. The boot space also not bad it will easily accommodate a family stuff(……. No’s) of 3 to 4 days family trips.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Sometimes you need to see the RPM meter to check engine is ON or OFF.
Engine performance is awesome in highways but with A/c in the fly over bumper to bumper traffic pick up is less in 2nd gear in low RPM in higher RPM may not feel much difference.
The Gear shifting is smooth
The first day when I took to home I got a mileage of 7 kmpl (referred from average mileage meter). This is because of very long period of waiting in the signal and heavy traffic. Next day I took my car to my native which is around 250 km away from Bangalore. In te highway I got mileage of 20 km/ ltr with 80 to 100 kmph and with A/C (still it covers traffic till we come out from the Bangalore city in less traffic periods). Then I wanted to check the mileage only highway so I did reset in a state highway and checked the mileage got 21 kmpl with A/C speed was 90 to 100 kmph (referred from average mileage meter). This is about mileage which is good.
There are no vibration at all from till 120 kmph ( I checked till 120 kmph only as it is new born baby) So my maximum RPM was 2500 for a while I just checked with 120 kmph.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is awesome.
Final Words
This is the best car in this segment which has good comfort, moderate pickup as 1.2 l engine, good Mileage.
Areas of improvement
1. A/C vent should have connected to glove box to place cool drinks.
2. Rear vent should have been for facelift Dzire there as Hyundai provides for I10 grand itself
3. ABS should have been for mid and high end versions it has provided for VDi.
4. Steering wheel could have been even sporty.
