Exterior Personally I like the looks of the new dzire as compared to the older version. Sharp looks from behind with traditional swift looks from the front gives a pleasant view. Although the edges could have been more sharper similar to SAIL sedan but overall the exterior looks good. Given the various choices of colour i feel Pacific Blue looks the best in this car although it is difficult to maintain this colour. Headlights are ok in terms of lighting but could have been better. Sadly most of the maruti cars does not have great head lamps in terms of lighting.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Feautures are good given the price. Easy to access audio controls through the steering mounted controls. AC is very powerful and may be the best in class. The colour mix of black and biege looks very good inside the car and gives a premium feel. The interior lighting also looks great especially when your are driving at night with console illumination on. Front is quite spacious but the rear is not that spacy. Great driving view in this car and you can see the entire road by using the driver seat adjustment. Music System is not that great, may be Maruti should bring in better Nippon models for this car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Felt turbo lag while driving. People at the service station say since it is only 1200 kms driven car, the engine will open up after 5000 kms. Gear transmission is very smooth apart from first gear which feel tight sometimes (but not always..may be due to newness). Currently getting a mileage of 17 kmpl with 50% AC on. The car does great in control especially in city considering the size of the car. Diesel engine does make some noise but willing to live with it given its performance. Engine runs very smoothly and has been tuned perfectly. Rear view while parking is unsatisfactory and needs a reverse parking camera. The rear view mirror can be bigger.
Ride Quality & Handling Best ride feel as compared to other. Test driven i20 before booking this car. Better than Hyundai hatchback and Manza as well. Smooth transmission especially from 2nd gear. Handling is the best in this segment. You can easily zigzag within city traffic with the power steering. 5 stara in ride quality and handling. Braking with EBS is great and goes very well with the alloys wheels.
Final Words As always, great VFM car from Maruti given the pricing. Must buy if you have a budget of 8 - 8.5 L (on road). Other versions are cheaper. People have complained about boot being smaller. I dont find a problem with my home - office - home daily travel.
Areas of improvement Build quality is not that great. Was banged slightly from behind by a Wagon R. Got a small crack in the bumper. Need to improve. However, the cost is replacement of the bumper is very less hence no worries. Dealer service in Delhi NCR is not so great. Took my vehicle for service. Pathetic service (Motorcraft Sahibabad). Better get servicing done from a reputed dealer.
One word of caution - This is not a great car for speeding on road, zipping etc, drive it with love and you will great driving comfort and maintenance.
