      Hi Im Omar from Shillong, a premier hillstation from India remote Northeast. I have just purchased my White Vdi on 15th March. Initially doubtful & regretful. By now the Not so ideal looks have grown on me!Not Badstyling indeed.Having travelled to southeast asia,the Dzire looks  Good compared to the numerous small category sedans around SE Asia : (eg)Toyota salunas,Vois,ugly nissans &protons! Infact it is perfect for us Indians and I should thank MSIL for launching such a good product.Pefect marriage of Japanese Style & Technology, carneverous Indian Boot Space & creamy Italian DDIS engine!

      Ease of Manouverability:- Ideal Urban Jungle Sedan with Tight proportions

      Though a sedan it drives like a small hatch,only till you encounter a narrow gulley & tightspot!I often forget this is a large car.Swift DNA means it is sporty in nature.Looks very sporty (esp after some modding )compared to the dated 90's side profile of the boxy Manza/Logan.

      Dzire's lines are alluring, muscular flowing with pronounced bulbous wheel arches & Bimmer inspired elements intergrated to the sexy rear!With some changes the car looks like a perfect well designed sedan.

      Exterior: FRONT END MUST BE CHANGED!

       Overall proportions are alright. Rear end is the best view of the entire car wish MSIL changes the FRONT END .Why pay 1-2 lac more out of your hard earned money for a Hatch Lookalike!Ive changed my front end   with an aftermarket FRP Bumper from Moni Designs ,Delhi.My Dizee looks great now, very Yankee design !(* see my photo gallery on carwale)

      Another suggestion is are the ugly Black B & C Pillars !Doesnt look good for a sedan.Removing them makes the car more visually appealing & sedanish from the side profile! A Boot spoiler completes the sedan shape of the Dzire .It doesnt look like a Swift with a bum now!

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       Dull boring black & Silver accents. MSIL should beige-up the interiors with faux wood trims ala Accent executive/Manza. Rear seat slightly cramped compared to upcoming competition.Well finished though coz its Japanese.I

      Interior carpeting resembles a coarse  army Blanket!Brighter Grey /Beige carpeting will answer this area.

      Seats are large and supportive esp on Higways and traffic Jams! Rear seats are so comfortable that passengers just doze off in slumber only to be woken by a large pothole & speedbreaker!

      Passenger cabin is large and roomy as it is derieved from the swift big hatch so is the head & shoulder room! Very Comfy indeed with a decent Ride!

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

       This is probably the CRUX of the car. Diesel Dizee just roars up all hillslopes in Shillong,effortlessly that too with the A/C on once the Turbo is charged! Running costs of an enfield motorcycle!Petrol heads beware!Gear shifting is just too smooth,perfect for women drivers!

      Ride Quality & Handling

       Ride quality is very sedan,feels it is a much more expensive car than it actually is esp,when cruising along highways.cornering quite good with upgraded 185 Bridgestone Potenzas.However good over bumps only NOT  large potholes.Fortunately, we have very good smooth (but narrow roads) here in Shillong!

      Final Words

       Perfect Budget Diesel sedan that can put many expensive sedans to Shame!

       Dzire is a sedan revolution in India.MADE FOR INDIA SEDAN! Best Middleclass sedan in India below Honda City. Cheap spares & Gigantic Maruti service.

      Good value for money = Excellent Resale value.

      Areas of improvement  

       (1) Different Front end (2) Upmarket interiors& carpeting  (3) 15-16" Wheel Rims & Fatter rubber

      (4) remove the name "Swift" &  simply call it Dzire!(5) reduce waiting period or MSIL will soon lose out to undeserving competition.

       

      Ok style for a sedan, creamy diesel mill , I Smile every time I top her tank with Diesel!!Spartan cave interiors & common hatch front. She hates potholes!

      I want to buy a Maruti swift dzire. Have been doing some research and checking to ensure that it is the right car for me. I first took a test drive last week. Was quite satisfied overall. Dzire fits my requirements to a large extent. But I was still not 100% sure. After all, 6 lacs is a big amount for a working class individual like me.

       

      A friend of mine works at a Maruti showroom in Delhi. So I requested him to arrange a night time test drive. These are my findings:

      1. The high beam is slightly low. But I think that has been done deliberately to avoid inconvenience to the oncoming traffic.

      2. The AC worked wonderfully well. Must have been the effect of automatic climate control.

      3. The acceleration was quite good and I did not feel any unexpected thrusts.

      4. Noise levels are negligible.  
      5. The integrated music system looks cool. The steering mounted controls are very handy.

      6. Last but not the least, exteriors looked great at night. Even better than daytime.

       

      Having taken this second test drive, I am now convinced of my choice. Will book the Swift Dzire diesel tomorrow. Hope I don’t have to wait too long for delivery.

      I test drive the Dzire Zdi when i start the car i felt slight noise but the driving was very smooth, i did not felt that i m driving a diesel car.with height adjustable seat the visibility of the road is very good. i should congratulate the engineers & designers of maruti for very well design & integrate boot well.the stubby boot shape design was taken from BMW but looks good with the crome strip above the numberplate gives it a upmarket look.rear door is change so the visibility from inside improve compare to swift.since the wheelbase is same as the swift so the legroom not improve which is better in indigo or logan.mileage should be more or less similar to swift as the weight is just increase by only 25kg as compare to swift.this is another good thing done by maruti engineers.steering mounted audio controls(Zxi & Zdi) & integrated audio system for the 1st time in midsize car.boot is very spacious.i have also read in auto india that dzire is very stable at highway speed.u cant go wrong with the after sale service, less cost spare parts & network of maruti which is best in India.also i have seen CPC on AAJ TAK they compared with logan & indigo CS,in allmost all the parameter Dzire was no 1.logan may be spacious but wat about its boxy look no styling atall. indigo on the other hand fit & finish, refinement need lot to be improve not efficient engine. few points, my liking & disliking.

      * very well design & body style.

      * same powerful engine of swift which is proven well from past 2 years.

      * spacious boot with just 25kg heavier than swift which means Dzire should perform as good as swift.

      * loads of equipments even in Vxi & Vdi.

      * neatly integrated audio system.

      Disliking

      * legroom not improve as compare to swift.

      * quality of some interiors like door locks need to improve

      * ABS option not in Vxi

      * quality of audio output is not good.

      * delivery is delayed after booking.

      even with some disliking i will strongly recommend Dzire as its a great value for money, low cost of ownership & reliability.

      Hi All,
      Got my Blue VXi delivered.. overall a decent package.. but rear leg space could have been better.
      Tyres are not good.. got it changed to Maruti Genuine Alloys and also a pair of Michelin XM1+ radials ( 195/60 R14 ) which give superb grip and a life of about 80000kms !!. Put in MGA seat covers and teflon coating.
      Stereo integrated looks cool..but performs pathetically.. so are the speakers.. am sure they could have increased the price by 2-3 k more and put a good sub-woofer.
      Rear arm rest looks good.
      Would recommend any person looking to buy a hatch to seriously consider paying another 50-70k more and go for this entry level sedan.
      Good Fuel Economy, Decent styling, god boot space, Good integrated stereo, rear arm rest, Good VFM,Rear Leg space, pathetic JK tyres, Bad speakers,

      this is my second review on my car d zire, as i said earliar iam the first owener of this car ie vdi model in vizag,i further consolidate my previous review, iam getting 17 +  with non stop a/c ,ie while using cell phone, or chating with friends in the car,  ie with neutral gear terrific cooling even at 41 degrees as my car having out side temp indicator idrove almost 2985 km, with a max speed of 130km p h, this car is really worth to buy in all aspects  the negative aspects like shape is very minute when compare to its other 98 percent advantages.it is a car for the people between 650000 to 900000, why to wast that 250000 keep it as fixed deposit for your kids  very good pickup n good fuel economycar cd player should be provided with usb port

      The design and interiror  is good. Engine is excellent,

      I got this car on April 2008. I have average run of 500kms/Month. Till now i completed 5200 kms. The average I getting is 21 -23 kms with A/C  lts on fourlane highway, 17 - 18 kms/ltr in city with A/C and overall 19 km/ltrs

      Dzire should be similar to the swift if the added weight of the boot may not affect its performance. The models are well priced except for the top end diesel. But it should be economical in the long run with about 21- 23 kmpl.

      Dziere defintely gives a competion to the logan, indigo, varna and the fiesta. I have been driving in the city for a while now. The pick up and ride quality is very good.

       

      Good Pick-up, excelent look, good Boot space, Great milage, Great interior, Comfortable seatsRear space, Bad road grip

      Well to start with a big thanks to dealer who stick to his commitment and delivered the Sedan in a period of 1 month....

      I bought it from ONE UP motors Lucknow (which is developing in brand of its own great sales man and commited work force )...

       

      Apart from that The car is good looking and on +ves list on top of my list is

      Extra Extra Large Boot space....

      Good Looks...great styling

      Extra Leg room on front as well as back...

      Mileage yet to test...

      On -ves only 1 I could think at the moment..

      Wish if would have been available in more COLOR options..(only 6 colors currently to choose from)....

      So go ahead and fulfill your DZIRE......:-)

      Best Economy Sedan with Maruti Brand & support. Good Stylish Exterior with good fuel Economy, excellent performance in this range. I do not like the front two side black bars inherit the Maruti Swift style. It looks very odd. The interior is plasticy & rear seat is not comfortable. Rear leg space not suits. Still i like this sedan. Mid budgeted executives who thinks in future not able to purchase or replace once what they purcahse and think to purchase a sedan should go for this one.

      THIS IS NAYAN FROM DHANBAD,RECENTLY I GOT  MY DZIRE VDI AFTER A WAITING PERIOD OF 2.5 MONTH, BUT AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR ABOUT 1000 KM I WAS GREATLY IMPRESSED THOUGH INITIALLY I THOUGHT OF BUYING INDIGO CS AS IT WAS WAY CHEAPER THAN VDI DZIRE APPROX 1.5 LAKHS LESS,

      THE CAR IS JOY TO RIDE AND I AM GETTING A MILAGE OF 15 KM IN CITY AND APPROX 20 KM IN HIGHWAY WHICH IS COOL,BOOT IS HUGE,AC IS NICE AND THE FRONT SEAT IS COMFORTABLE THOUGH BACK SEAT IS BIT CRAMPED ESPECIALLY FOR THE TALL PERSONS

      WHAT IS MISSING IN THE CAR IS ABSENCE OF ABS IN VDI MODEL AND THE QUALITY OF FACTORY FITTED (NIPPON)STEREO IS ALSO NOT UPTO THE MARK ATLEAST SONY EXLOD SHOULD BE PROVIDEDAND NOBODY WOULD HAVE COMLAINED ABOUT ADDTIONAL 5 TO 7 THOUSAND IF CHARGED ADDITIONALLY  WHAT ABOUT PROVIDING A BIT MORE LEGROOM TO THE REAR SEAT,THE STEERING SHOULD ALSO BE PROVIDED WITH TILT OPTION,,,ALSO THE CAR SHOULD BE RENAMED AS DZIRE AND NOT SWIFT DZIRE WITH A MODIFICATION IN HEAD LAMPS SO AS TO MAKE IT LOOK DIFFERENTLY FROM SWIFT.

      OVERALL I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND THIS CAR TO PERSONS WANTING TO PURCHASE A DIESEL SEDAN WITH LOADED FEATURES AT A REASONABLE PRICE. I GOT IT FOR 625000/- ON ROAD
