      I have a dzire vxi 2008 model what I feel to my experince after driving it for nearly 2 and half years and 22000 km that it does lack with power and it has manufacturing problem with rear wheels. The alto omni van and other less powerful engine cars are always over taking me easily when they are carring more passanger than me while climbing up hill. Secondly this diwali when I was driving my dzire uphill with 5 with the driver and sum luggage of four people the car could not climb where as one of my cousin with santro zing he could easily climb the same hill and I had to ask my cousin to push my dzire up that same hill which the santro easily made it. I very often go to maruti station for check up and servicing. Thirdly I live in a hillstation when there is a jam in a steep climb and as the traffic is clear when I start to release the clutch and try to move the rear wheel skids really badly the car refuses to move forward. My first doubt was tires but when I went to get it checked in maruti service station the expert told me that my tiers were perfect and I even ask him for a test drive, after the test drive the expert says the car is perfect. I told him that look I dont mind spending money but please tell me that you can fix it but all that he can say is that your car is perfect and nothing is wrong.?

       

      Can anyone tell me is there any power difference between dzire 1.2 and 1.3.

      Dezire/VDI/Silver: Driven 10,000 km so far, updated on Sept 9 2011

      Exterior It has a very very delicate exterior. The bumber tears off if it gets hit!!!!! The bumber is very small ie close to the body, does not protect the car from any impact. Average looking, very limited color option ie 7 and all are outdated. Ritz/Etios/Vento/Polo has good metalic color options. All Maruti Suzuki cars fade off very fast, the exterior becomes dull very soon as compared to the looks and polish of other makes like Honda/Hyundai. I own a Santro too, which has a very very strong body as compared to Dezire.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors is v pathetic, cheap plastic is used or just kept there, lacks class. Features are okay. Space is enough, Boot space is excellent. Comfort level is v good, rear seat is inclined for greater comfort for long distance travelling. Front light/swith gets heated very very fast when switched on.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Performance is very good, its silent and pick up is v smooth, it just races on 2nd gear, can overtake any car. Fuel Economy is best in class, and gearbox is very smooth. If you stand outside you will hear engine sound a bit more.

      Ride Quality & Handling EXcellent for a diesel car. Dzire is very easy to control and handle in city as well as out of city.

      Final Words Nice car, but can do much better. Good value for money. You can't ask more with the price tag offered. Vitesse makes you feel special at the showroom. Sales person Krishna at Vitesse Worli has done commendable job. Cheapest diezel sedan available.

      Areas of improvement:

      Should increase the size of rear-view mirror.

      Music system is pathetic, looks very cheap and sound output is very bad, should update the Music system with latest technology. I fail to understand why USB is not provided? And what about the bluetooth? Maruti should not have given the Music System which spoils the Brand name.

      Absence of Defogger (in VDI model) makes it difficult to drive during rains.

      Interiors and exteriors are average looking, there is no class. They should pick it up from Hyundai.

      Dashboard is simple, not at all attractive. Check out i20 dashboard, its amazing. steering wheel design is also simple. The Orange display on cluster is yucks, should be blue.

      Gear Box should have been positioned an inch towards rear side and an inch higher so we don't have to bend.

      Bumber is very very delicate, it should be very strong and more thick and more in depth so as to protect the car froma any damage.

      Should have good seat fabric designs ie beige color with stripes and beige interiors. Polo/Vento has excellent seat cover designs. Waiting period kills you.

      Should keep a Blue illuminated logo of Suzuki instead of stop light, this will look classy.

      Headlights are just okay for city driving but not for highways, should be replaced with 100 watts bulb.

      PICK UP, MILEAGE, SMOOTH, SILENT, HANDLING , EXCELLENT BOOT SPACE.INTERIORS, REAR VIEW FROM MIRROR IS INADEQUATE, MUSIC SYSTEM HAS NO USB, BLUETOOTH, NO DEFOGGER

      I saw  SWIFT DZIRE today it simply awesome .I would like to give my congrats to the Indian team to come up with a win win design .I simply could not imagine how they would integrate the boot with the front look and they come through with flying colours.The seating in the back is more reclined which give full comfort feel.I drove the diesel and the rie was like a whip . I will try the petrol and needless to say it wil be also like a super whip.Also  a point noting how the Indian design team has managed to add just 30 kg and change the car into a sedan.Go for it boys its a VALUE FOR MONEY car with GOOD LOOKS.

      Exterior The shape is too rounded. Sometimes it looks like modern time Ambassador. Seriously needs improovements in looks. Should go for leaner and more fitter look like that of Ford Fiesta and Honda City.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good. But their is not much leg space. If front seat is pushed backwards, the person sitting behind cannot sit properly.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gears are soft, Clutch, break and accelator padel is smooth, engine is good, but it drinks fuel like water. Fuel Economy is bad in city of VXi version. Its not even 7 kms in city.

      Ride Quality & Handling Its ok. Difficulty in taking right turn when someone is sitting next to u coz its difficult to see through left window.

      Final Words Purchased the same in July 2008. Never buy petrol version of Dzire. Always go for Diesel version. Overall the car is good, as compared to price the overall package is fine. But the package is of no value when fuel economy is bad.

      Areas of improvement Exterior design, leg space, Fuel Economy in Petrol version.

      Maruti Swift DZire is a welcome relief for the Indian entry level sedan buyer, starved for choices. A few advantages that I feel dzire offers vis-à-vis competition are:

      ·          A great sporty look carrying the Swift brand further

      ·          A new generation engine which is more fuel efficient

      ·          Added safety features like airbags, abs, collapsible steering

      ·          Features like automatic climate control, steering audio controls

      ·          Reliability in terms of Maruti service network

      ·          Price that is very attractive

      ·          Great boot space

      good looks, great price, awesome features, relaible netwrok

      Have got the engine shutting off problem resolved from Maruti after chasing them for 6 months. This was due to the faulty clutch design of the car. I was shocked to understand from Maruti that swift & dzire diesel cars sold in 2008 & before have a faulty clutch by design. Due to this engine shuts off at any speed. The clutch has been re-designed by Maruti and fitted in later cars. But Maruti never did a recall of faulty vehicles to replace the faulty design clutch.

      This was very bad. There is a high risk of accident due to this. I have driven the car for 50000 KMs with fault clutch and with high risk of life. So all those who are facing engine stalling problem, please get your clutch assembly checked and replace if its of faulty design. This can help to prevent any accidents. Please note, because of the faulty clutch design, engine halts at any speed when clutch is pressed, thus loosing the car control.

      Exterior Well. to be honest i really like the exterior, the front and rear both look appealing, but with that said, looks are always subjective. You may not like what i like. The one thing bad about the exterior is the paint. The paint looks brilliant when the car is new, but with usage, the paint looks really bad. It looks like a very old car which has been repainted. The quality of metal used is not at all good.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The car is loaded with features. Specially the top model is good value for money. I highly recomment the zdi or the zxi version which has steering mounted controls, better tyres, beige interiors, airbags and abs. The front seats are very good and excellent in terms of space and comfort. But for the rear seats, the ;ess said, the better. I am 6'1, and no one can sit behind me when i am sitting in the front. You will get the idea.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I am satisfied with the engine performance of the car. There were no problems i have faced till date with the engine. Fuel economy is 10kmpl in the city and 17-18kmpl on the highway. The gearbox is supersmooth and beest in class if i must say so.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Now, comes the bad part. the ride quality is absolutely pathetic. If you are a car enthusiast and even the slightest bit of noise like rattles and creaking noises annoys you, then I will say, do not even consider this as your next car. You will be thoroughly dissapointed to say the least. The handling is very good, but the vxi has very slim tyres which makes the car vibrate on high speeds. I recommend a tyre upsize.

       

      Final Words A good car, but not for people who get annoyed by rattling and creaking noises from the interior of their car. Maruti has used pathetic quality and the build of the car is not very good to say the least.

      I was looking 4'r an easy on pocket diesel entry level sedan with a budget of 6 lacs but had fewer options like logan and indigo but did'nt like both of them. Logan is gud bur 4'r those who really don't care what they r driving. Its got features which both have them dont have at a reasonable price, refined engine u wont't believe that it's a diesel car,great pick up. But the rear seats are cramped have'nt really been able to increase it becoz the wheelbase is thee same as the swift.Interiors are okay but not that gud. integrated stereo makes the interiors diiferent from the swift.The thing really did'nt like was that the windows r still small in size as r in swift. But overall its a gud package at this price and have booked the VDi variant already but HAVE TO WAIT 4'R 3 MONTHS.

      I brought this car on July 2008. I have average run of 500kms/Month. Till now I completed 10000 kms. The mielage I getting is 19-21kms/lts on fourlane highway, 17-18 kms/ltr in city and overall 18.5km/ltrs.

      : Before booking this car I gone for other models of Diesal cars i.e.- Ford fiesta, Tata Indigo CS/XL, Hyundai Verna and I Compared them thoroughly and at last I selected this Car.

      :Now I realise that I had taken the decision of my life by opting Dezire insted of swift VDi.

      :This car not only gives great performance of swift diesal but also it have great look and space as of other high end sedan cars.

      :Pick-up is exceptional, even skoda octavia can not catch in up to 120km/hrs. 

      : Breaking at high speed could be better if ABS is added as standard specification.

      :AC cooling is very very effective, actually chilling.

      :Company should remove name Swift from the car, they should use name only "DZIRE" for this model.

      :If you are looking for sedan, you should go for it, this car is a real beauty and great value for money. If you have no shortage of money then go for verna, fiesta or even scoda.

      : Suspention is also good, big tyres give great control even at high speed. This is big disadvantage of this car.
      :Company should make some change in the front look of the car, at least change the headlight of the car so from front it could look differ from swift. vo kehte he na "saamne se dekha to laga swift chali aa rahi he, jab bagal se nikal gai aur pichhware par najar padi to pata chala swift nahi Dezire chali jaa rahi he"

      Totally 5 people travelled along with me with the boot fully loaded. It was  also absolutely fantastic  for me to drive. After the continous ride, people at the back said they were comfortable placed  during the entire journey. It handled even the bumpy roads quite well

      I felt that i will find it difficult to drive a disel,but the engine was absolutely stunning.

      . Music system was adequate but cannot be termed excellent.
            

      Good fuel economy,good look,more space on dicky,fine pick uplow grip on road due to bad tyre,less space on rear seats

      I was driving Santro best ever car....I was searching for a new car to replace it.choices were many but i saw the demo car of swift dzire on road.I took the test drive.
       
       and after it was over I was talled that the car I was riding is diesel.It was so silent and havibg excellent pickup.

      I am very happy with the performance,comfort,getting in and out of car is so effortless.its giving 18+ average in diesel with AC in city and 20+ with AC on highways.

      Only problem i found is somewhat weaker breaks and noise when you suddenly press break paddles to full and the service centre says its inborn problems with swifts.Second problem every swift owner finds is that when you drive car with window glasses open the glasses hit the door panel inside and makes lot of noice.It is also a problem when you lose the door of car with glasses down......it makes loat of noice......

      The rear view is not good as the trunk is high like new cars.AC is less powerful than that of BALENO but sufficient efficient.The music system is good and user friendly.The best thing is its central locking which locks all doors when u reach spped of 30km/hr and there are so many settings you can make!!!! Power steraing is somewhat harder compared to EPS of esteem
