From outside, the car just looks like the extended version of swift/Ritz with almost same width, but increase in length and height. The styling even though does not have cuts and finishes, still it looks good and simple like innova. Simplicity is what everyone liked about ertiga and the reason to go over Mobilio which has weird exterior dimensions.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) 4/5
Space and comfort is the trump card of Ertiga which scores 4.5/5 in every aspect. As a 6'3" person in driving seat, a 5'8" person can easily sit behind me with the minium leg space with third row folded. This shows the flexibility of the car and how we can use according to the situations. It can be used as a 2,3,4,5 and 7 seater. 2 Average height persons can lie down and sleep with 2 rows folded with length equal to side upper berth in train. So while going for long drives, kids can sleep well. The seating position is awesome and under thigh support is the best.
Features are ok. Basic ones are covered well.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 4/5
Engine performance is good except the turbo lag in diesel till 1750 rpm. Petrol engine is responsive. When the turbo kicks in, it can easily overtake any car in highway with the acceleration from 20-80 kmph.
Fuel Economy is good in both city and highway. I have done 600 kms in ZXi and got 11kmpl in city and 15.4 in highway. The economy will increase after 1st and 2nd service. Engine performance is better in petrol version than diesel even though the latter is designed mainly for highway driving. Petrol is peppy and easy to drive in city. In 35kmph, the vehicle can go in 4th gear with 5 persons on board which makes it perfect for city driving. Gear box is smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling 4.5/5
Best ride quality is experienced in Ertiga. Compared to innova, the Ertiga scores best in fuel economy, ride quality and handling. The car is well suited for both city and highway driving. Parking is also easier as it is 20cms lesser than innova. Cornering, overtaking and changing lanes seems to be easy.
Final Words
Value for money - Compared with other competitors, car is priced well with 1.5-2 lacs lesser. With the top model coming to less than 10L for petrol and 11.5L for diesel, the families who are looking for a sedan can think of this option.

Younger brother of Toyota Innova😎 - Car stands with his elder brother just like a sibling with covering 85% of whatever Innova provides. With almost 5 lacs less, the middle class family can afford to buy Ertiga and be proud to take on innova in highways.
Areas of improvement If the facelift can come up with 1.6L engine and several added features, then Ertiga is going to be selling like swift.
Should provide airbags in all models as safety standards. A little change in styling will give Ertiga a new look, but should not overdo like Mobilio or boxy like lodgy.
