Exterior Familiar Maruti looks. Front & side looks are like the beloved D'Zire.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Maruti should give option of middle row, with 2 seperate seats, each bent forward & backward (like the front seats). GM Enjoy, M&M XYLO etc. offer cars with 2 seats miidle row. There is more comfort, more space and good leg space is there in otherwise cramped 3rd row.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its tested FIAT 1.3 Diesel running in many cars, LINEA, PUNTO, VISTA, MANZA, RITZ, DZ'ire, SWIFT, Sx4, FIAT 500 and ERTIGA. AMong the lowest cost of maintaining this Diesel that has adequate power. Though heavy SX4, LINEA & ERTIGA dont match the performance of lighter Ritz, Swift, VISTA etc.
Ride Quality & Handling Its better than much costly peers like DUSTER, Ecosport.
Final Words Maruti should give option of middle row with 2 speprate seats (like front seats) to make its very comfortable.
Areas of improvement Cut body weight by some 100-150 Kgs. Middle row with 2 seats and spare wheel on tail gate (like Ecosport) to make Ertiga look more sporty.

v Took the delivery on- 11th OCT-13 @ Mondovi motors, Bengaluru
v Odometer reading- 3100KM (Almost 70% on highway driving and 30% in city)
v FE-17.4 KM/L (reading from the instrument panel, 20% AC usage)
I first saw this car, while my senior bought to office. However I was not much impressed at the beginning and was skeptical about the seating arrangements, boot space etc.
When my quest of taking a car begun and after trying and testing all the above models, we were certain of booking SWIFT, just then I saw the user reviews of ERTIGA and expert reviews in NDTV, UTV Bloomberg etc, the reviews were satisfactory and extremely positive about the car, hence I thought about taking the test drive along with my family.
After the test drive, all the myths that I had towards ERTIGA were cleared at one shot. I take this opportunity to clear some of the myths associated with ERTIGA.
· 7 PERSONS CANNOT BE SEATED COMFORTABLY- I have seen many people (Incl me at one point of time) complain about the 3rd row legroom. Guys I have sat in the rear seat. With all 7 persons seating, take my word you will get good legroom, which is equally to the rear room what you get in any hatchback.
· SMALL ENGINE COMPARED TO THE OTHER MUV’S-Although I am new to driving, I am thoroughly enjoying the driving, particularly the ride at highways. The engine comfortably cruises with no engine noise. Pick is also good so is the mileage.
· BOOT MINIMAL WHEN ALL SEATS ARE UP- The boot space is okay when compared to others like Xylo, XUV. 4-5 medium sized bags can be adjusted.
Final Words- Considering the fact that it is difficult to accomodate an additional person in hatches / sedans, ERTIGA is a practical MUV designed as a people mover or a cargo carrier with a 700 ltr boot space after the folding of 3rd row seat . The versatality this MUV offers with its price is amazing...

Exterior the styling is better than inova. in the new anniversary edition the front grills come with silver and makes the vehicle very unique. :)
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)interiors are very comfortable particularly the second row of the car feels like god! because the second row also has the pushback options with front and back side hence makes a great ride than any other car.... considering the music system in zdi the looks are great, but the controls in it is not fair. we cant select a song on the play of another song like i20 and etc.. cars. a song can be heared after selecting directly or changing one by one.... but the rest is very good. the third row is also very good. two members can be seated perfectly.and the back two rows are fully foldable. and the roof ac vents are great.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:the car fells very good for driving. it is very smooth to drive.regarding mileage it is very economical.gearbox is like butter changable.
Ride Quality & Handling: excellent riding and it is with abs with ebd. great to handle.
Final Words: ertiga is a very sutiable car for small and big families.it is a all time season luv.
everyone will defneatly like it. can buy with out any doubts of thinking. good product from suzuki. finally it is the innova for the middle class families.! :)

Exterior Good,look s bigger suv but easy to drive different colours appealing and attractive to kid salso.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Goodfor front and middle but rear is comfort for children only biege interiors and rear ac vent allare very good for money.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good notfailed even one time, not bad for7 persons gear box is poor giving recurrent expense.
Ride Quality & Handling Comfort handling easy idid adrive my self with fulloccupancy to shirdi with family no problem i have driven my self.
Final Words IT WILLNOT STAND IN THE MARKET UNLESS GEAR BOX PROBLEM IMPROVED.

Exterior
Design is not up to par with competators, Especially front grill and hood. As the Passenger cabin approaces, Ertiga looks better. Ground Cleanace is adequate, 15" alloys are smart. Rear of the car is the best with spoiler.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Adequately equipped, but not fully. No touch screen audio, video, GPS unit available, which forced me to install a MAP MY INDIA device(which is another epic). Less control buttoms on steering wheels(No Phone call pick up). No arm rest which is so stupid.
Space is adequate inside for a family of 5 to travel with lugguage and a short trip with 7 persons loaded. I owned Mazda 5/Premacy which is also a compact MUV but the practicality in Mazda 5 is way better than Ertiga. The seats could have been narrower to give better space with enough cusioning and better foldability. As most cars in the catagory available in India have same approach, so there is no competition in the practicality. Due to thick/heavy seats and lack of engineering, the lugguage space is compromised.
Ride quality is good, but not excellent. Control is better compared to other Maruti Suzuki models. 2nd and 3rd row seats are not ergonomic, so defenitly log rides will keep passengers bust in looking for comfortable position.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Egine is a old proven boy. Performance can be expected only after 2000RPMs, Until you reach 2000 in Tacho, keep looking others passing by. Fuel economy is execellnt. I drove 5000Km in 1 month and got between 16.5KMPL to 19.5KMPL. When I hired Driver and needle was at 120KMPH, the economy dropped to 14.5KMPL.
Gearbox is good and smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is good in first row. Second row is also okay but the sets are not that comfortable. Third row is kind of ride in Old Maruti 800.
Final Words
Its a good car and good value for money. Could have been better engineered. After seeing other cars in international market, Ertiga seems like a car from a decade back.

Exterior Though its an individual choice, I just love my Ertiga the way it looks in Granite Grey Color, witrh well balanced contours and profiles. I find too many curves and lines (as in Mobilio) to be Gaudy.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable for normal sized people. Third row seat has best underthigh suppport as compared to others in the same category. I happened to see an ISUZU MU7 recently and atleat in 3rd row comfort, ERTIGA beats it 😊. Remove headrest of 3rd row and fold it to have a large luggage space with a wide.... leg space still left for 2nd row.
AC cooling with middle row blower is good. (As an experiment, I switched on the AC with Heater on for 15 minutes, the car was getting very hot inside but on putting your hand against the 3rd row blower I could still feel cooler air coming out! So its not just a blower sucking air from front and pushing back, Its something more!).
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The Gear shifting can be a little smoother but I do not have any complaints otherwise. Have driven with 7 adults and 2 kids in Delhi without any problem. Also toured 700 kms of Himachal hills (including narrow, winding, single lane hill roads) without any problem (can't drive continuously in 5th gear though in hills, as some people expect and I believe thasts an impractical expectation). FE is ok in city and is better if driving on long stretches.
Ride Quality & Handling Smoooth. Drives like a small Car. Suspension is quite smooth and cabin sound is very well controlled (Roll up all the windows and heave a sigh of relief!).
Final Words Totally values for money. Perfect for occasional 7 seat requirement. Feels more premium than its price (Zxi). Feels safe with ABS, EBD and Brake Assist. Ok for slight off roading (Negotiated well a 35 kms of hill climb on practically non-existing road from Nalagarh to Swarghat).

From outside, the car just looks like the extended version of swift/Ritz with almost same width, but increase in length and height. The styling even though does not have cuts and finishes, still it looks good and simple like innova. Simplicity is what everyone liked about ertiga and the reason to go over Mobilio which has weird exterior dimensions.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) 4/5
Space and comfort is the trump card of Ertiga which scores 4.5/5 in every aspect. As a 6'3" person in driving seat, a 5'8" person can easily sit behind me with the minium leg space with third row folded. This shows the flexibility of the car and how we can use according to the situations. It can be used as a 2,3,4,5 and 7 seater. 2 Average height persons can lie down and sleep with 2 rows folded with length equal to side upper berth in train. So while going for long drives, kids can sleep well. The seating position is awesome and under thigh support is the best.
Features are ok. Basic ones are covered well.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 4/5
Engine performance is good except the turbo lag in diesel till 1750 rpm. Petrol engine is responsive. When the turbo kicks in, it can easily overtake any car in highway with the acceleration from 20-80 kmph.
Fuel Economy is good in both city and highway. I have done 600 kms in ZXi and got 11kmpl in city and 15.4 in highway. The economy will increase after 1st and 2nd service. Engine performance is better in petrol version than diesel even though the latter is designed mainly for highway driving. Petrol is peppy and easy to drive in city. In 35kmph, the vehicle can go in 4th gear with 5 persons on board which makes it perfect for city driving. Gear box is smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling 4.5/5
Best ride quality is experienced in Ertiga. Compared to innova, the Ertiga scores best in fuel economy, ride quality and handling. The car is well suited for both city and highway driving. Parking is also easier as it is 20cms lesser than innova. Cornering, overtaking and changing lanes seems to be easy.
Final Words
Value for money - Compared with other competitors, car is priced well with 1.5-2 lacs lesser. With the top model coming to less than 10L for petrol and 11.5L for diesel, the families who are looking for a sedan can think of this option.
Best MPVfor Indian family and roads - Flexibility and utility is important for a big family which this car provides you the best.
Younger brother of Toyota Innova😎 - Car stands with his elder brother just like a sibling with covering 85% of whatever Innova provides. With almost 5 lacs less, the middle class family can afford to buy Ertiga and be proud to take on innova in highways.
Areas of improvement If the facelift can come up with 1.6L engine and several added features, then Ertiga is going to be selling like swift.
Should provide airbags in all models as safety standards. A little change in styling will give Ertiga a new look, but should not overdo like Mobilio or boxy like lodgy.
