Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Very bad. Not at expected from MS. Even small stretch of uneven road makes entire vehicle unbalanced and lot of shaking happens inside. Leading to very high discomfort and conscious. - I started having back & neck pain due to shaking. Even if when one side wheel goes from uneven surface it creates lot of unbalance inside. and that too only with 3 people including driver. - all shocks are coming back to cabin and you can not seat at the same position for 10 min drive. - suspension is very hard and even small pothole can be felt very significantly inside cabin. - It feels like vehicle is not grounded and we have to hold somewhere even at 50km speed in the city. - no need to say when goes above hump..it is like somebody hitting very hard on your head from behind if you are resting on headrest of middle seat. - completely unbalanced vehicle . My wife has to hold arm rest as grip even on normal roads @50km speed. - after 1 hour drive in city you feel you were in spin wheel and would like to get down. - I challenge MSIL team to seat in this car for 45 mins on middle seats resting their head on head rest and come out with out neck pain ( hopefully with out injury ) I am really disappointed and highly unsatisfied after spending 8.6 lacs on this piece of metal. I do not feel to get inside & alight the new vehicle. Is it outcome of "cost reduction" or faulty design? who is responsible for my back & neck pain? First will put board on backside " LUV"- " likely unbalanced vehicle". Already I could save one of friend from not buying this " shaky " vehicle.

From the first look, the interiors look good, but the back seat is quite flat which is sad, the option to move middle row back and forth is fantastic. The back row can adjust 2 people with less heights.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
I drove a Diesel one, it just does not want to take off in the beginning which is so irritating, what if its fully packed with 7 people and on a highway, i am concerned specially for overtaking on highways and the upward slopes on hills. On running, the turbojet engine gives a good push to it though.
Fuel economy is a plus if it gives what Maruti claims as 16 on petrol and 20 on Diesel.
Indian cars need to really learn from their foreign counterparts in Gear box system. I hate it really in most of the Indian cars, and this is no different.
Ride Quality & Handling
It looks quite open while sitting inside, the visibility is really good. The handling part is appreciable, you will not feel as if you are riding a 7 seater but instead, it gives the feel of a Sedan.
Final Words
Finally, i would say, the concept is a masterstroke looking at the present market demands, the Sedan is a passe now. It looks so crampy in a normal sedan. Overall, i would still think of buying this car, since there is no competion to this concept as yet.The reason is that it gives me an option to carry 2 extra people in case a need arises, Secondly i can plan for a long drive with family and believe it would be quite a comfort for them, as compared to a Sedan.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearboxement is a true performer in this segement is toyota innova.Don't forget toyota is the leading brand across the globe and the best.Those who have owned a innova like me can understand me.
Engine of ertiga diesel is very refined and smooth due to proper insulation and adjustments. Mostly i see people judge vehicle by thesizeof its engine-cc.This is where they go wrong.! Always rely on the power to weight ratio and power to torque ratio of a vehicle (important).
though ertiga only has a 1300 cc engine but it is much faster than the 2500cc innova and innova and all other huge giants like scorpio.
Ertiga is faster due to very light weight better gear ratios and the higher redline of the vehicle and even a 1300cc engine.
Also fiat multiget diesel is same as swift and dzire but a few tweaks and avgt have improved its power in ertiga just like in sx4.This engine has got the award of best engine globally in smaller cc segement.
Gearbox is ultra smooth compared to other muv's.
Ride Quality & Handling Ertiga beats all xylo,innova,scorpio,safari in ride and handling .Ertiga having a monocoque chassis opposed to the others ,handles with fineness
Final Words Go for it .Even i have booked a ertiga zdi diesel model.You will be morey than happy The price in lucknow is 9.6 kakhs onroad.So here again ertiga is approx 5 lakhs cheaper than innova ,safari,scorpio and 2.5 lakhs cheaper than xylo.
Top models compared and onroad prices. Indians know that marutis are ultra reliable and long lasting.

(hence value for money is questionable) would become reasonable once its performance is proved in next 6 months and also other benefits of corporate discount and exchange bonus coming into play.
Its a good car but at premium price. May be the ones finding Toyata's Innova costlier will compromise for Maruti's Ertiga. Wait for Fords new launch slated for year end launch

I own an Ertiga VDI now, got last week, done around 500km all in Hyderabad city traffic. Over all good experience, not that great fun to drive in the city. This weekend planning for a high way trip :)
A query to the Ertiga Diesel owners,
1) Do you hear the fuel pump noise in your car? to test this take the car to a silent place switch off the Engine and first turn on the ignition, don't start, then listen any sound coming from the under hood of your car, some hissing sound. It will go off after few seconds. The sound comes back once you start the car. It is audible in my car if I lean and listen try to listen from the underhood of the car, below the middle row driver's side. The sound is not audible if you sit in the car evenif the windows are open.

Final Words Its an average but I would like to purchase mahindra xylo e8 which has almost its double of engine of 2500 cc and it have all those features such as 3 row a/c and rear wash and wipe, keyless entry and which are missing in ertiga vdi.
Areas of improvement There should be three row a/c engine should be improved and should also be improved seats leg room and knee room. Maruti is known for its fuel economy but for competetition in market there should be all those factors which should be kept i mind while purchasing a car but there is no such features exciting which are notin other cars but moreover it lacks such exciting features which should be there in car which costs more than 900000 rupees as it enters into luxury class and for such condition there should be foldable flight rays in ertiga and also voice command technology as compared to mahindra xylo ertiga is very less but being a fuel economy car it will manage its position in market.
