Major Areas for Conceptual Design improvement
A new Maruti Celerio - VXi AT owner, I could identify two major technical area for improvement in conceptual design:
Ride Quality & Handling
1. The position of (D)rive mode and (R)everse mode in all AMT cars from Maruti Suzuki is conceputally incorrect as per common convention. The forward (D)rive mode [and even the mannual (+)ve Gear shift] should ideally be set in forward direction; whereas the (R)everse mode [and even the mannual (-)ve Gear shift] should ideally be set in backward direction as available in almost all the mannual transmission vehicles. This makes more logical sense to help user
At present, the driver is bound to make a CONSIOUS decision to pull the lever backward in order to move forward and push the lever forward to set the vehicle in reverse mode. This becomes even hazardous for an old-age senior citizen on the driving seat who finds it hard to move away from the lifetime convention for forward and reverse gear shifts.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
2. The power windows cease to operate as we switch the ignition off, while other battery operated equipments like 12V socket or stereo still continue to operate at this first steering unlock mode. In order to opperate the power windows, one needs to switch on to the Ignition ON mode. To me, this really feels like a non-sense after I stop my car and prepare to get off.
No Airbag, USB charging port and Bluetooth Audio which seem to be essentials in mid-range model.
Exterior
Exterior is quite okay but I feel it should have come with fog lamps at this cost.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Having driven less than 1000 kms so far, it might be too early to comment on the performance but I did not get any better millage than 12.2 kms /litre within city and 16.7 kms/litre based on the information displayed on instrument panel.
Another Celerio ZXi (Mannual) Car User contested to my above finding stating that it is apparently no more than 10 Kms in reality.
Final Words
Watchout for some unethical Maruti dealers. I had a pretty bad experience with my purchase in Delhi NCR - while booking, on cheque payment acceptance and most important a poor delivery of car with dents, low initial fuel than recomended and screws coming off within hours after delivery.
Personally, I did not find Celerio VXi AMT as appropriate RoI. I would suggest considering Renault Kwid with much better sepcification which could be more value add for less investment.

More youthfulness can be brought here. Car looking dull compare to others. VXI model door handle also could have been the same colour.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
All is good. Multiple trip meter, ample space for seating & storage are really good. Aircondition could have been better. Seat belt, seat can be more comfort. Eco lamp could have brought in.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Excellent. Very good pick up. Very good response as far fuel . I have been driving now 700 kilometers in Chennai City. I am getting close 14 / litre. Gear box (AGS ) is extremely responsive. Slight shakness is there especially when we wait in the signal
Ride Quality & Handling
Awesome. Very easy & comfortable in handling the car. A pillar is little non visibile.
Final Words
Good Car. Value for Money. So far the service of the dealer also good..
Areas of improvement
Aircondition, more youthfull appearance, Eco lamp for city riders/new comers..

The car has features of Astar and Wagon R when vieweed from various angles. Not a crowd puller by looks

Maruti has given only the basic minimum features even in the VXI. AMT option is not available in ZXI model. The seats are comfortable. The head rest merges with the seat, but could have been given separate
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Automatic transmission along with manual option with good mileage is the best feature in this car. The automatic gear shifts are not smooth and one can feel a lag. I found the manual shifts better for highway driving. The freedom from clutch and gear shifts will be a boon to those with low back aches. The engine is peppy but may not suit those who want to drive like Formula 1 car drivers especially while overtaking other vehicles in the automatic mode. The VXI AMT has given me 15 km/L for city and 19-20km/L for highway
Ride Quality & Handling
The ride is smooth. There are lots of blind spots mainly because of the wide side beams in the front and rear view mirrors on either sides.
Final Words
A good car especially for those plying in the city. Women would love the AMT version which offers comfortable driving with good mileage.
Areas of improvement
Improve the features in VXI(Central lock and audio system) and offer AMT in ZXI models. Reduce the blind spots. ABS and air bags should be made universal since they are safety features.

Exterior : I love its front chrome grills and unique design that is very much stylish and unique than the others.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Interior is good, my hight is 6 ft but i never faced any problem of space while driving, good leg room for both rear and back seats, very good boot space.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox :
Engine performance is pretty good, you wouldn't find sound of engine while driving, but yes little bit you may recognise wheel movement sound.
Fule Economy: Fule Economy is the best in class, i am getting 18 to 20 Kmpl within the city in normal trafic, 15 to 16 in very much bumper to bumber trafic start and stop. and 22 to 25 on highway.
Ride Quality & Handling : very smooth and flexible, really its an easy drive.
Final Words : Value for money, best in hatchback.
Areas of improvement: Need to decrease the sound of wheels movement that i don't like, need to provide air bag safety with this version,

Exterior - Exteriors are fine and good looking. I always prefer Silky Silver as the choice of color. It really eases the cleaning and polishing work to a great extent. Attractive Head Lamps and very good styling and design. Rear side has above average looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) - Dashboard is good. Distance to Empty, Average Fuel Consumption, etc are good feature additions. These were not available in previous ALTO LXi. Seats are really comfortable. Better to go for a premium seat cover immediately after purchase. Enough leg room available for driver and co-driver. Rear seat passengers can also be seated comfortably . Overall a good space management technique handled by Suzuki. Rear-Boot volume is adequate.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - Automatic transmission sometimes makes you feel low on pick-up. In due course, it gets adjusted as you drive. Engine is super smooth. The automatic version also enables you to do the gear shifting manually. A wonderful feature. Just a little learning and then you get set off with everything... Fuel economy is good. But only 15 kmpl within city drive.
Ride Quality & Handling - Ride quality is very smooth. A very sensitive accelerator. It is designed with much precision in the Automatic version. Really good to handle. Can be better if traction control is present to an extent.
Final Words - I would suggest the buyer to go for this car. It is hassle free and low end maintenance. Any Suzuki engine is durable and offers you the same ride experience up to 1 Lakh KMs (provided the car is maintained as per company standards). If the buyer is preferring to self-maintenance, then I would always suggest him/her to get Maruti GA (Genuine Accessories). For clutch plate replacement and other important mechanical works, I would always suggest these be done at authorized service centers...
Areas of improvement - Little more accessories and additional features can be granted for the VXi model.

Good ride quality and excellent for city traffic. Easy to park. My wife started driving the car within a few days of learning driving on a manual transmission without any help whatsoever.

Good buy as a primary or second car. Great for city traffic. Manoeuvrability is great. Easily accommodates 5 passengers. Third passenger in the back may feel jammed during long trips. Good visibility for driver

Mileage seems to be low. I was able to get only about 12 pl. before first service. Overall very happy with purchase. Bootspace is less.

I am concerned with fuel efficiency. Last week I put petrol for Rs. 500 (7 litres) and run only 50km !! the beep sound is started to come now !! Now I hope that after 2-3 service fuel efficiency will improve. I doubt is there any problem in my driving or with the engine.

Very good. However, not good for sudden pick up while runing in automatic mode.
Final Words
A good car for easy driving............ but fuel efficiency is very less, eventhough company says 24pl i think below 10pl is the real .. The VXI model priced at 5.46 lacs for such a small car/less powerfull.

Fuel efficiency, otherwise a nice car. Also I think the fibre exterior will create problem in long run.
