The exterior could have been a bit more robust in terms of looks. Antenna could have been shorter

The height of the seat, dual airbag etc.. should be a common thing as a feature for both AMT and Manual versions. The AMT lacks them beside some other cosmetic changes.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Many people are complaining about the AMT version not being very smotth during an automated shift. I would say that gets noticed because your mind is not engaged in pressing the clutch or changing the gear manually. This small lag is acceptable. The manual sports mode with the + and - is really good when you want to feel the adrenaline.
***An experience which tok away the happiness of driving this car***
Fifth day after I bought the car, all of a sudden the car started making rattling noise from the gear box which is constant and can be heard loud and clear in the manual as well as drive mode, Reverse mode. Service center has no expertise as they have never heard of it. They took help from Maruti to figure out the issue is with the gear box. Part was ordered and was received in 7 days. It was connected and here it goes down again due to some software error. Again no expertise in AMT, service team relied on AMT experts in New Delhi. 3-4 days went and no one was able to figure what can be done to fix the error. Then I told the service center to take the test drive celerio AMT and replace parts with my car in a round robin fashion to identify the faulty part(s). So, they now say that they have identified the faulty part and has ordered another part for the software problem from Maruti and that will take another 7 days. Hoping that it gets fixed in another 5 days. A 5 day old car in service center for more that 14 days
Ride Quality & Handling
It is really good. With 5 people in the car, the bottom of the car do not touch some high bumpers on the road. I have seen some Dzires to touch the bumps with even 3 people in the rear seat and just the driver

As a car, I always wanted someone in India to come with this concept. I have desierd to own this car since its launch and when I bought it, this is what I am going through
Areas of improvement
Service - Improve working knowledge among Maruti technicians and troubleshooting steps of the AMT version
Car - If AMT was targeted to NRIs and Female drivers then it should have features on the AMT such as multiple airbags, Allow wheel etc.
Spacious, implementation of AMT (Good Concept), interior finishing, look and feelCould have been a bit robust from outside

Major Areas for Conceptual Design improvement
A new Maruti Celerio - VXi AT owner, I could identify two major technical area for improvement in conceptual design:
Ride Quality & Handling
1. The position of (D)rive mode and (R)everse mode in all AMT cars from Maruti Suzuki is conceputally incorrect as per common convention. The forward (D)rive mode [and even the mannual (+)ve Gear shift] should ideally be set in forward direction; whereas the (R)everse mode [and even the mannual (-)ve Gear shift] should ideally be set in backward direction as available in almost all the mannual transmission vehicles. This makes more logical sense to help user
At present, the driver is bound to make a CONSIOUS decision to pull the lever backward in order to move forward and push the lever forward to set the vehicle in reverse mode. This becomes even hazardous for an old-age senior citizen on the driving seat who finds it hard to move away from the lifetime convention for forward and reverse gear shifts.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
2. The power windows cease to operate as we switch the ignition off, while other battery operated equipments like 12V socket or stereo still continue to operate at this first steering unlock mode. In order to opperate the power windows, one needs to switch on to the Ignition ON mode. To me, this really feels like a non-sense after I stop my car and prepare to get off.
No Airbag, USB charging port and Bluetooth Audio which seem to be essentials in mid-range model.
Exterior
Exterior is quite okay but I feel it should have come with fog lamps at this cost.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Having driven less than 1000 kms so far, it might be too early to comment on the performance but I did not get any better millage than 12.2 kms /litre within city and 16.7 kms/litre based on the information displayed on instrument panel.
Another Celerio ZXi (Mannual) Car User contested to my above finding stating that it is apparently no more than 10 Kms in reality.
Final Words
Watchout for some unethical Maruti dealers. I had a pretty bad experience with my purchase in Delhi NCR - while booking, on cheque payment acceptance and most important a poor delivery of car with dents, low initial fuel than recomended and screws coming off within hours after delivery.
Personally, I did not find Celerio VXi AMT as appropriate RoI. I would suggest considering Renault Kwid with much better sepcification which could be more value add for less investment.

Exterior is well designed, stylish.

Interior space is excellent. Even with front seats fully back, there is enough space in the rear seats. Excellent suspension. Also the boot space is huge. Rear seats fold forward for extra boot space.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Gears dont shift at the right time, especially from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear, resulting in over-revving and excess fuel consumption. I prefer switching to manual mode to save fuel.
My average reading is 13.5Km/l. I have driven only in city with ac on 1-2.
I expected it to be atleast 15km/l, since company claims 23km/l.
Ride Quality & Handling
Riding this car in the city is very easy, no worries of shifting gears while in traffic.
Always had a smooth ride. Handles very well on sharp turns, even at speeds of around 40-50km/h.

Overall, it's a perfect car to ride in city traffic.

Exterior The car does have a unique character of its own. But designing could have been improved, which would have made the character of this car come out more. Front of the car looks better than the rear. The tail lights can be improved some what I feel.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space and comfort is decent. I like to have my coffee while driving, and there are enough cupholders provided for this purpose. Storage space also is decent. Would have like some additonal features in the VXI Auto model, like E OVRM, rear wiper and defogger. That would have probably taken the cost of the car to 5.5 to 5.7 lac on road. But i still feel, these should be given as optional features.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performace is decent. This is my first auto car, so i was skeptical, but was pleasently surprised by the performance. The auto geaar shift is excellent. One who has never driven an auto car, will take some time to get used to the auto transmission. But once you get comfortable, you will really start enjoying this. I drive every day form Delhi to Noida covering around 70 kms every day in hte Delhi traffic hours, and trust me the auto shift has really made my life so much easy.
Also, the car has a fairly good fuel economy. It gave me an average of around 16.5 in einters, with teh AC off and with AC, the avg is around 15.5.
There are indicators which tell, how much more distance can the car travel with the fuel that is there in the tank.
Ride Quality & Handling The car has a decent suspension and can handle the bumps and the pot holes pretty well. In terms of handing, I can easily maneouvre the car in traffic and in congested areas.
Final Words Overall a good car for anyone looking for an entry level auto transmission.
Its a very good car for people who like to sit a bit high and dont like the cars which have a sunken feeling. Good for people in 50's. While im still 31 and the car is for me as well :)
Areas of improvement At low speeds, when the car is in 1st gear, sometime i have experienced some jerks. Had taken the car to the workshop, but the problem did not occur in front of them, so they could not do anything about it.
Should give Optional EOVRMS, rear viper and defogger.

Exterior Front look is Very good and Maruthi should change the Back Look

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is Very Smooth and very rare cases you feel Vibration in Engine. I am done with the 1st serviceing, Im city iam getting 15-17 based on the Traffic Conditions and iam very happy with the mileage in Highway, its giving 20-21. i drove 2600 km, in instrumental cluster it is showing avg mileage has given is 16.7 till today(Mixing of City & Highway). Gearbax is very smooth in AMT.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is Very Smooth, I am literally enjoying my ride. AMT is really really Very Easy to drive. everybody can enjoy the Ride in Traffic. Coeming to handling, what i feel is upto 100 speed i can handle but over the 100 it is bit unpredictable.
Final Words Overall Celerio AMT is the Great release from Maruthi, they have designed this car for the Middle class people who concerned about Mileage and Maintanance.
Areas of improvement Back shape of the Car is not good and it looks like Alto, maruthi should redisgn it.

Final Words: Due to pwer brakes, I found it very dangerous to drive on a slopy hill. Once the engine went off without my knowlege. I put the brake once to to keep distance from the front vehicle. Then the brake pedal got jammed. I had to slam to vehicle to a road devider to save an accident.
The Engine power is very week, even if i have to cross a speed breaker, i need to lift the car in 1st gear only. Have not idea how it works while driving Ghat areas, though the long drives are smooth and pleasant
Bought the car in persuance of the assured mileage of 23 km. It doesnot even give the expected mileage of 18k.m.

Exterior: the hatch back style gives a styling perfect look and the colors are nice too.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Excellent space and good features. Its very comfortable to drive. the sound system with the speakers are also nice and good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: While driving uphill, shifting gears from the 2nd to 1st is very tough. its hard and doesnot easily get into place. It strucks hard to get into 1st gear and most time it sound like as if its been hit on a stone. but there is no problem while driving on plains. rest everything fine.
Ride Quality & Handling: the ride quality and handling of the car is goo as well. its easy to handle and provides good quality too.
Final Words: the car could be in excellent star if the gear shift from 2 to 1 is made smoother and easier. otherwise there is no complaint and will sound everything perfect.

Excellent. Very good pick up. Very good response as far fuel . I have been driving now 700 kilometers in Chennai City. I am getting close 14 / litre. Gear box (AGS ) is extremely responsive. Slight shakness is there especially when we wait in the signal

Engine performance is not good at all especially on hill-roads but it makes up very well with fuel economy. The Gear has a problemit hard to shift back to 1 from 2 and it doesnt get into when shofted to 3 either from 4 or 2.

Final Words
Clerio is good looking, fuel effeicient but it looks like a half baked cake with gear problems, untimely screeching brakes, and low quality (arms, bush and string rods (which i got changed), which together lead to a crashing sound when the car moves over speed breakers).
Areas of improvement
The arms, bush, string rod,brakes should have been of a better quality. The brake pads start screeching when not even 1 year old (within 10000 km milleage), need improvement. The connecting rubber hose pipe leading to the tank should have been a steel and strong. This makes stealing fuel easy( i lost my fuel a couple of time).
