I bought Alto LX in mid January 09, till now it has done 1500 kms including 1 long trip of around 600 kms.
This car is amazing in terms of fuel economy. The overall milage i am getting is 20+ till now. Ride and handling is Ok. The painful part is the AC system, cooling is faster and effective but it absorbs all the energy of 800 cc engine. Interiors and seat fabric is good.
I recommend this car to those who are single or newly married couple, height is a constraint, 5' 10" or more will face problem in getting in and out.
but over all its good car with best fuel efficiency & cheap spares available in the market as on date.

Exterior Elegant exteriors, really nice exteriors, anyone can die for it.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Decent interiors but lesser interior space, very small luggage carrying box.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Maruti Alto comes with a displacement of 796 cc. The engine in Maruti Alto is endowed with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission. This gearbox comes with a cable type gearshift which is of great help while shifting gears. Maruti Alto is packed with MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) fuel supply system which offers great mileage and thus proves economical to run on roads. Maruti Alto's BS IV compliant engine is equipped with more power and is eco-friendly as well. This highly powerful engine of Maruti Alto is very fuel efficient. The manual gearbox is also a very good performer and offers an impressive mileage of 14.6 kmpl in the city and 18.9 kmpl on the highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good, small size make it easier to drive in city or urban areas.
Final Words Best car for me.
Areas of improvement Maruti should increase the size of its luggage box.

Exterior Exterior I found okay as I was expecting the same from an ALTO. so no surprises. But thought the interior should have got some facelift. Overall good car. Value for money, and sufficient for a small family, one like me.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are sufficient for 3.5 lakh car. but maruthi should have upgraded the looks atleast. moreover the extra length of the car was just to accommodate the bigger engine, it should have also catered for some cabin space and boot space. I am 5 feet 9, and some times while manuvering on sharp turnings my elbow hits the door. Every time I change gear I had to push legs of co occupant in the front seat. but I must say overall seating position have been improved compared to older versions.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is nicely tuned and very pepy for city ride. on highways it takes a little time to catch up. one thing I noticed, that in second gear if engine rpm is very low vehicle stops(though car is in motions it cannot pull up) I have to shift to 1st gear once speed goes below 10.fuel economy is SAT I would say. as I am getting approximately 14 kmpl as against 20.2 kmpl (claimed). though I have driven mostly in city and in decent traffic. moreover its too early days to comment on mileage. gear box is smooth except for sometimes reverse doesnt engage when i try to(a strange sound comes)i have to put more effort compared to any other gear to ensure reverse is engaged.
Ride Quality & Handling I personally found the ride quality to be very good. nice suspensions.
Final Words Good value for money car. but since maruti suzuki is the leading car maker in india, one can expect it to deliver some more than what its rival/competitors deliver at a given price. i am totally satisfied by the car(till now).

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) 😵The car is having almost no features.even there's no radio in it when we buy it, suzuki has simply not paid attention on the leg room.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gear box is a place where they need to improve after the leg room, car is fuel efficient, engine is of 1000 cc beter than the old alto.

Final Words The car is smooth to drive as compared to the alto lx and lxi. price is to much for the car. re-sale calue is ver low.If your car's colour is white or silver it is still OK but if there's any other colour it is hard to expect a good re sale value and is very tuff to find someone for re-sale.gears are very hard and noisy when changed.IF you buy an alto K10 I suggest you the colour silver.model-K10 vxi. The car is having tubeless tyres.Suspenssion is avrage.It is very lightweight which let's the car get a good pick up even on 2nd gear.
Areas of improvement Geare should be smooth. Noise in the cabin is much more than our deisel swift DZire.Leg room.

Exterior The car from outside is very simple and sleek. The side mirrors are pretty common with very usual head lights. The company has very common colour choices for this car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior is less spacious with very limited place to stretch and sit comfortably. Also there are no accessories fitted inside with the car (music system / seat covers) you will have to pay extra or buy them from outside.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine performance is good with quick accelaration. However the gear is not so smooth and often gets stuck while changing from one to another. Mileage is the USP as the car drinks less fuel and covers more ground.
Ride Quality & Handling At high speeds, the car is not so safe often trying to get out of control. The small body is very helpful in cutting through heavy traffic. A good car for city drive, but should not be used for long highway ventures. This is one of the reasons you do not see this car over taking others at high speeds.

I've done 20k in my brand new alto in 1yr and sorry to say im really fed up vth d car.... Things were too bittter for me.... This is my 5th car from maruti and and till now i was so impressed vth them.. But this piece of junk has tortoured me like anythin... Within first 7000kms both my drive shafts were gone... I got em replaced under warranty.. But you must believe me it took about 8 or 9 visits to several service centres for me to get warranty.. really disgusting...
They really are interested in harrassing you wen you get a trouble in the warranty period... I thought i was done vth that but it was just the beginning.... At 13k i had to change my entire cletch assembly. The car was undrivable due to the faulty clutch..... yet the service experts made me wander 1 month for that to be done...... We have to prove the problem to aaaaaallllllll the employees in the servive centre, even the clerk.. to get warranty..... Atleast 5 of those idddiots will take real rash test drives and just give a vacant look. I ve never seeen such crooks....
After this circus.... its giving a hell lot of noises from the front.. Suspension gone.... both!!!! Calippers gone both sides!!!!!!! Wat the hell is this i just cant understand wat happened to maruti...... And wenever we show a complaint to them they are interested in showing other cars and try to prove that alll of em are having the same complaints. So wat! am i supposed to drive a car with continous lupdup sounds from the front......
One of the service supervisor himself told me that a lot of vehicles are coming vtth similar complaints lik drive shafts... Wat d hellll???? you must understand that the average life of clutch assy or drive shaft is well above 80k kms.... Why are these failing severely im sure the quality has gone down much much much....
The quality of the metal.... It got tore offf on tightening a screw while fitting a speaker... so funny to hear... The body is paper thin.... Its very difficult to drive it vth ac on.. Very poor power it has.. but its ok vth ac off... But u must admire the excellent ac... It beats even my ikon... Also nice mileage... always above 18kmpl... ALl else is adjustable and its a good car except for my bitter experiences... I dont think its an isolated problem.. My new maruti 800 is also showing unusual complaints... I had taken both of em almost simoltaneously from INDUS MOTORS... I dunno wethr its a problem with the pieces they had... Actually i feel really bad with this experience..... So think twice...

Exterior Metal sheet is good and durable. Had a small touch with an indica. The indica had a dent but I had a minor scratch. The headlights are good looking,smart. Liked the backlight design too.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) AC is stunning. maruti should improve the plastic quality that is used for interriors.Space is good when compared with the 800 cc Alto.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Absolutely stunning performance . I have driven this car in extreme villages in west bengal during monsoon. But there was no effect in the performance. The suspension is really good. Driven this car 180 Km at a stretch . It was an absolute pleasure. The mileage in highway is around 18 and in city is 14.
Ride Quality & Handling Satisfied with the Ride quality . And the power steering is like a feather. Very good performance in heavy traffic.

Exterior Looks cool and aggressive. comes with a fog lamp, The front grill looks really cool. The rear part of the vehicle is been designed good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is average, could have made better since th old alto also has the same interior. The plastic quality is poor. The interior is quite crampy interms of space. The comfort is good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very responsive engine, nice accleration,smooth shifting. Milage is good gives me 17 in city and 20 in highway. speeds above 100 is easy in this car. believe me I have made 135kmph and its very stable.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good in K10 and the handling is excellent, suberb handling, especially in corners.
Final Words ALTO K10 is superb car as i said befor it is wonder car with revved up performance.
Areas of improvement Interiors could have been changed and the quality if plastic is poor... the fuel gauge is not accurate.

I am driving the Maruti alto for the past four years (800 cc). I am using the car very frequently and it till not it did not give me any trouble. Its a balanced car. The mileage is excellent and on an average 19 - 21 KPL depending how you drive.
Its not the car for person whose height is more than 5'8". It is much more uncomfortable for people who sit back side. If you are planning for 3 members to sit on back seat you have to just forget it. There is not better punishment than that.
Its good for people who drive a lot every day (economical reasons) and for husband, wife , one kid family and not more than that. Don't ever think of buying it if your kids are big. They will curse you for buying it.
My daughter is now 5 yrs old and I am planning to buy if I get one more kid or in another three years.
In my view my next car is Swift Dezire or any toher model better than that when I buy.
