On the downside : stupid cost saving issues like , the boot can be opened only with the key..no remote boot opening. Mirrors are not electronically operated. They've minimised the power window keys. Also they're not ergonomically placed. The indicator and the wiper are like European cars - Ulta ...so it'll take time getting used to it.
However since the car satisfies most of my criterias...and am willing to compromise of the few negatives mentioned above.... So if you're looking the buy the Indigo-Diesel or the ford fiesta - Logan is a better bet.

I drove my 1.6 glx (CNG fitted)logan from Goverdhan (Mathura U.P) to Delhi, just to cut the route I went from a shorter route from Chata (near Barsana a village in U.P) the roads were actually bad, 40 to 60 ft road with all farming land on both the sides, in hot burning summer but had a lot of support from nice cooling effect from the A.C, I was afraid at first because there were no repairing shops or any kind of people or traffic around to help in case of breakdown, but it was amazing experience i didn't feel as if I am driving a sedan I felt like driving an SUV, didn't feel any threat crossing potholes. Just an amazing feel for about 35 km....it was actually fun, very comfortable even, must drive this car... On Delhi roads without A.C on CNG it's giving an incredible mileage of 21 to 22 and with A.C around 19 to 20, A.C is quit effective, on petrol it's giving somewhere between 12 to 15 kmpl on A.C & Non A.C, already driven approx. 55000 km and no complaints except the service by Mahindra which I think needs lot of improvement. Sterling Motors Faridabad is too bad and Koncept Delhi quit good in comparison.

It is really an excellent car to own. Good in space - comfortable sitting of five people, enormous material carrying capacity - biggest boot size in its segment, excellect millage - 21+ on highway (unmatched for a big car)and what is not there to make is a real value for money.
I am owning one for past 9 months and am extremely happy to own it because of above facts.
The main drawback that I see is not good enough ground clearance (which is a must considering Indian road conditions) and poor service network - the service centers are open 6 day a week. An office goer gets time for service only on Sundays and the service centers are closed on that day. Mahindra should consider this fact to increase thier value for money. They should bring up their service standards at par with their competetors like Maruti Suzuki.

Exterior Rear part of the vehical is a boxy. But, the overall doors, body, etc is very much robust.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Internal leg space is adequte. Rear seating is very much comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is having a good pick up, and best milage. With worst driving coditions, I can get 20+ kmpl. My driving mostaly consit of 80% highway, and 20% city.
Ride Quality & Handling Has run vehical for more than 1.25 lacs kms in 3 years, but ride quality is as of new. Can make a speed of 140+, but, it does not loose stability.
Final Words A sarisfied owner + driver of Logan. To drive Logan is enjoyable. It may be a very good option to enter sedan segment.
Areas of improvement Need to add ABS+Airbags. Wiper is suitable for left hand drive, which is to be modified for Indian driving conditions.

Exterior goog exteriors. especally the front portion the front grill looks very nice and also from the rear side the vehicle looks like a big car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good leg room comfertable for 4 wellbuilt persons, the roof lining is very impressive,the door handels are like side hand rest even the doors are very soft touch you need not pull the door very heard.and when open the door it will not roll bach by a slight pull it will close.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Silent engine, good fuel economy i get 22 kmpl with ac on highway , soft gears.
Ride Quality & Handling Pleasure driving,soft and good to drive. good road grip good breaking, you will as if you are driving an suv as the front seats are elevated, easy handling.
Final Words Very good car in its class, spacious, fuel economy, good front seating, good boot space, un comparable car in its class.i also have a ford fiesta 1.4 tdci but i dont feel satisfied driving it logan is more comfertable and spacious comparitilive.the logan is value for money as it is also cheaper than the other cars in its class the logan really met my expetation.i feel logan is the best and i definatily recomend this car to the buyers it is very beautiful car.
Areas of improvement Ground clearence should be more and the reae bumpers are not strong enough they are on 2 screws.i think the power windows which are on the dash board should be on the door it self. asin the other cars.

I m snehal trivedi from ahmedabd having logan 1.4 glx since aug2008, Value of money, best in class with low cost , less maintanance, specious, service is so so, company's customer care is not fully co operative. delears service is good.
Areas of improvement
Require quick response from customer care, there is no facility for company fitted CNG's service, poor service , require companys intercention in the CNG fittings beceuse they are not provided any services and the cng fitting centre is working for 10.00 to 6.00 hrs and its difficult to service the cng part .

Exterior Average, tends to get scratches easily, painting can be improved, wind screen wiper problematic particularly during winter season, the mud flaps fitting the worst problem one encounters, should be fixed properly. rattling noise comes from inside while driving slowly.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good space and comfortable, the gap between front glass and the dash board should be closed.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good and comfortable driving while not using AC, but difficult to drive while AC is on. Difficult to use Ist Gear may be taken into consideration.
Ride Quality & Handling Good to handle in high speed, difficult during slow driving, particularly clutch very difficult during traffic.
Final Words Over all a dream vehicle for a middle class person, sturdy and comfortable.
Areas of improvement Wiper, clutch, mud flap design and fixture, slow speed driving should be improved. Dealer ship particularly in Chennai should be improved the present dealer MPL automobile a bad experience for decent people , Silver painting can be improved.
