This car is verry good value for money car. it is extreamly spacious but its ground clearance is 155mm less for indian roads. this car is for those people who are looking for a car which is spacious, fuel effecient, value for money. if comparing it with verna it is cheaper but the engine of verna is more powerful but overall package is more appealing in logan.
some drwbacks of this car: the boot can be opened only with the key, no remote boot opening. Mirrors are not electronically operated.
overall this is an excellent sedan :-)

Well, i decided to wait for a couple of months before writing about Logan in this space.
I bought a LOGAN GLS 1.6 about 2 months back. Primarily because i had a limilted budget and i wanted some thing new.
Overall it is a good car and it does not look as bad as it was made out to be. Not much to write about interiors. but exteriors are fine. It does stand out amont Honda City, fiesta etc.
Trip computer is a very nice feature. Milage is also better then expected. In moderate City driving conditions (average speed 15-18 mph) it gives an average of 13-14 and 11-13 with AC. On highway it is giving a milage anywhere between 16-20.I did not manually calculate the average but the Trip computer did it for me.:)
Pick up of power is not that great but its ok for me as i was not expecting it to be. Car body is very solid and looked stronger then most of the other cars in this range.
Seat hight adjuster is another good thing for female drivers.
However if you are some one who has to drive more then 2000 KM every month then my recommedation would be Diesel. Diesel version is much more responsive and fun to drive.

Logan DLE is a practical choice for people who require a spacious car with acceptable comfort. This would also be the choice for people who would not spend over 6.3 lacs for a sedan (price-factor).
The gear-shift is good (not sleek). The accelerator, brake, clutch pedal positions are normal, driving position and view are very good. The car is comfortable for tall people (driver and rear seat passenger). To me the Logan offered better driving comfort than the Indigo.
The air-conditioner is not the best, but when switched on does not affect engine performance. The boxy nature of the elbow rests are very unrefined and intrusive. Rear seat is spacious and has ample leg room even after front seats are slided back fully.
In my personal opinion - the dashboard-design and instrument panel is better than the Indigo - though this is not the case for the plastic.
The engine assembly is uncluttered and very practical. Engine has a neat plastic cover. Simple layout under the bonnet. The electrical fuses can be fixed/repaired without a visit to the workshop.
Acceleration was not a factor for me as I do not need fast acceleration. The car handled well in the congested roads. I am yet to monitor mileage, but my guess is that the Logan runs at least 13 kms on 1 litre of diesel in the city with the AC on.
I depend a lot on the rear view mirror instead of the side glasses. The side glasses could have been made to retract inside a bit more, given the crowded nature of Indian cities.
Though it is early to comment on the overall performnce- time will tell whether the Indian Logan is just a flash in the pan or is here to compete with the Tata Indigo.

-Europian Sedan design, no nonsence.. only usable controls are available...and designed for very less maintenance (Doors not having controls...so things are always cheaper in case of any damage).
-Good fuel economy, am getting 14.5km/lt in dirty city driving and 20km/lt on highway...after 3rd service.
-Low cabin noise, compare to any other car in this segment, good options for manual seat adustments (come on ..we don't change these settings every day so electronic controls are not really very important) ---steering is not adjustable..
-Good headroom for tall people & good legroom for rear seats.
-Very good security features, Designed in a way that engine will never harm driver or passenger in case of any accident, Option to add passenger airbag also.
-amazing pickup, I use to drive Santro before this...and am comfortable driving this in city...even able to overtake the cars very well.
-Bootspace is not openable thru any lever, but it's a european standard and in positive way it gives you a security luggage feature in your car...so nobody can open ur bootspace without proper key.---anyway mahindra is now giving an option to open bootspace from inside in new models.
Some of the standard cons are like *low bhp power in diesel, *average ground clearence, *low cost interiors, *less storage space in cabin, *no wrist support dividers in middle (but doors has unique wrist support). No options for any light in back seats, *rear power window controls close to handbreak (not very comfortable with kids), *low featured stereo..etc.
But overall it's a good value for Money, because Price for middle model is very reasonable for the basic features and performance. And am impressed with kind of maintence and spare cost mahindra offers for this car (however am not sure of Engine maintenance, but seems mahindra is providing spares to renault for their SA operations, so it's seems a long run relationship)
I drove this car for around 16500 kms without any issue so far in last 11 months.
I compared this to City, Optra, Verna & indigo before making the purchase.

I agree that Logan seems a good,functional buy, the real USP of the vehicle is the fantastic space factor both inside and in the boot.
I drove the vehicle and it handled well,but I am not sure about the A/c how efficient it is,and this is very important in Chennai.
Though the price seems good,I have read reviews where people have felt that Renault would have had a winner if the Diesel had been priced at Rs.5 lacs and top end Diesel at Rs.6 lacs.After all it retails for Euro 6500
