I bought my Xylo in 2009 December. I loved the car in the begining. The advantage at 2009 was, 1) specious vehicle 2) Cost
After 3 years of using the car i realized that spaces really does not matter if you use the car for personal use. Today the cost is also not very friendly. For the first 2.5 years it seamed to be fine. Off lately,in the last six months, i have been to the garrage for many issues. 1) Gear box problem 2) Engine top sealing leak 3) Air con failure 4) Rust on the bonnet and doors. there is load of tiny parts exterior and interior that falls off.
To top this off, the service capacity in chennai is a total waste. They changed my stearing wheel with an old wheel. I had to fight back to get my own stearing wheel.
I have already started looking for buyers to sell the car and have booked maruti ertiga. I think with powerful network of service and proven track record of maruti, i will be more satisfied.

Exterior The monster has a bulky look but with a few accessories, you can make it look attractive like a carrier on roof-top, window wisers, side cladding e.t.c.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Huge space inside and very comfortable for the entire family on long drives. Even driving a Xylo is a pleasure. If you look a xylo from outside taking a sharp turn, you tend to get scared that it will overturn. But passengers do not feel like this inside. It's very stable. The special area given to keep sun-glasses is a very innovative idea.
Airconditioning is superb and a 'personal' air-duct for each passenger is like sitting in an aircraft.
Interior plastic quality is not that good. Probably that's the way mahindra has cut corners to keep the price low.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good on slopes also. Fuel economy for this size of a vehicle is satisfactory. Rest depends on your driving style and road/traffic condition.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is very good specially when you drive a Xylo after a hatch-back mainly due to the road sight which you get at such a height.
Final Words I have driven a Xylo now for about 25,000 KMs in 2 years and overall experience has been very good so far. Have driven it to maximum of 300 KMs at a stretch without feeling tired at all. Except for the Looks the vehicle is an absolute value for money at this cost.
Areas of improvement The Bulky looks need to be given slight curves (mainly back side), to make it look more attractive.

Exterior Exterior is quite Good. Though certain improvements would beef up the appearance.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) About the interior there is nothing to raise serious complaint.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Performance is Good until now but appears to be on the borderline. All would depend on how the car would behave after 3 years. The fuel economy is Average. The makers are aware of it and therefore an effort to appearent improvement is made by adding AC milage in the actual milafe is made. Gearbox appears to be very Poor. I have already complained about the hard gear shit for first 10 minutes on starting a car at rest for more that four hours. No response is received.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality & Handling is Good until now but have to see the same until first three years.
Final Words I find the guarantee excludes almost everything, under the pretext of normal wear and tear. While I was in the W/s for service one customer was there with a complaint of clutch. His car was 3 months old and must have run over the first monsoon in Mumbai. In fact the ditches are there on the raod in every rain, in this rainy season though, it got a wider adverse publicity. To my surprise the customer was charged for Rs 22k for the repair, which in my opinion was certainly a guarantee repair to be available for free. If this be the approach, I think I must flogg off my car before my clutch gives way.

I purchased Mahindra Xylo E8 (Mist Silver) before 2 Days (11.09.2012) at MPL Automobiles Showroom at Chennai. I really appreciate Mr. Thiyagarajan, (sales executive) & Dharani Dharan.N (Team Manager), when I took a test drive of Xylo, and they arrange at my door step, the guys who explain each and every thing. At the moment, I decided to book a Xylo.
I used to drive Maruti, Santro and TATA before. But Xylo is very comfortable to drive with Very Good Space, suspension, ABS, AC’S and smooth handling. I was really surprised with the superior quality vehicle produced by Mahindra.
The way of delivery is very Excellent, It’s really surprised me. I didn’t get this experience never before. One again thank to Mr. Thiyagarajan and MPL Automobiles Team.

Exterior Are Good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space is good however the brake shoes are just terrbily bad you need top replace them 5000 kms i think i would need to sell me house to do soo even maruti is giving gurrantee that you do not need to replace brake shoes before 10000 ksm for alto the brakes emit white powder after the car is driven for more than 200 kms nonstop.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Bad the Engine performance is just terrible the engine emits black smoke all the time i was told mahindra that the emission of black smoke would stop after driving the car for 5000 kms i have done so still the same issue mahindra people are the biggest bullies & the biggest liars i have come across, fuel economy is worse mahindra promises 14 kmpl however trsut me truth it will not give you more than 10 kmpl. Gerabox is terrible .. the gears do not work properly the back gear is too difficult to operate.
Ride Quality & Handling Bad.
Final Words Xylo Do not buy Ever.

Exterior It is 100 times better looking that a Qualis, Tavera, Ertiga and to a certain extent Innova (Innova's looks are of a CAR and not a SUV). There are some points of concern but ignorable like the mud Flaps are loose, the fog lamps go in with a fingre push, the rear no plate makes noise.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Amazing space- even in the third row senior citizens of my family do not crib. Amazing comfort - Did a 14 Hr non stop to Nagpur from Pune and again travelled to Tadoba next morning without any fatigue.
Excellent road grip even at 120-140, smooth handling (finger touch driving), Powerful Twin AC with middle row controls. I am a music lover and tht that would have to replace the original fitment but to my surprise - Its wonderful.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 3rd gear is a little search for kinda both once you are on expressway or a open streach and on 5th gear - u fly - literally.
At slow speed it gives that typical DI engine type RRRRR but at crusing speeds virtually smooth. Started at a Fuel economy of 9-10 but after two services started giving me 12-14 KMPL.
Ride Quality & Handling Family loves being in it and I love to drive it. Gives me more than I expected in terms of pickup and power. 0- 120 in virtually 7 sec.
Final Words As Russel peter says - "You will GROW in her eventually". And belive me - Nothing is perfect. Buth this one V F M Through and Through.
