      Exterior WAITING FOR THE PURPLE COLOUR, a rare colour in SUV range.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Looks excellent, to be seen after the vehicle comes to chennai.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Expected in line with my scarpio vlx, which gives comfortably over 15kmpl on highways.

      Ride Quality & Handling Yet to drive.

      Final Words Waiting to see and test drive the xuv500.

      Areas of improvement Mahindras should definetly upgrade the service centers, particularly their approach and mindset towards customers. I have been using scarpio vlx past three years, the vehicle is very good except some noisy interior. the service center in chennai looted my beatifull vinayagar brass idol from the dash board and service head was only able to appologies for the theft but they were not able to identify the culprit inside the service center nor replace a new idol for me.

      Service centers of toota or even hyundai are very modern. untill my scorpio was under warrantee period the bill used to be very normal, but immediately after the expiry of the warrantee the service bill costing me rs 10000 or rs 20000.

      Overall a really big muscle, great looks. It is going to kill Fortuner, CRVs and many others. SUV market is hotting up with 2-3 Indian options in ForeONE, Tata's Merlin

      Only dampner is the inside cabin, looks a bit cramped. seats are not wide enough for full leg support. Knees portrude out (especially in the 2nd and the 3rd rows)

      A bit pricy too. W6 costs 14.20 L on-road, W8 abt 15.3 L in Bangalore. Not sure where they are going to position Scorpio now. It is around 11 now (SLE) ... Wonder how many would go for scorpio if s/he can get a XUV at 14 lakhs, Anyways a brave effort. M&M having previous 8 years of exp with SUV, service should not be a problem. I guess ForceONE & Merline would do better than XUV, as their prices would be sub-12.5Lakhs. Also Merlin will be with 18 inch wheels.

      Suggest we wait and then decide.

      Exterior Wow and catches the first looks with people, very good design and build (they say monolythic).

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Could have been better, but very compfort seats and lots of space in first and second row, and feature are very very good for the price.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Lacks the initial boost at 1st gear, not a drivers car, but can comforably go as sheffer driver car. Gear is ok not floor type, break and shocks are overall good.

      Ride Quality & Handling Overall is good, handling is good, power is felt after 2000 RPM and the vechile gives real performance.

      Final Words Mahindra get the 2.6 or 3 Lit version you will rock with this, or add more boost with automatic transimission. For those who dont want to go for a expensive fortuner, and want all the features and dont mind the inital handling and want to save big bucks go for this man.

      Areas of improvement Initial ride power, options for beige with all colors, that's it for me.

      Exterior Beautiful Exterior. It could be looked at equivalent to the audi, Bmw category of cars. Lovely headlights. Very slick corners.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its got every feature you would require to purchase a car. Apart from a rear camera which I wouldve liked it has everything. Very very spacious. No problem with that. Along with space, its a lazyboy car. Lovely seats and super comfort to sit and also to drive.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth Engine and not noisy at ALL. Its giving a good mileage till now. Lets hope it continues. Everyone loves to have more mileage with the increase in prices of petrol and diesel. So wouldve loved a 17km SUV but its good nonetheless.

      Ride Quality & Handling Beauty Handle drive. Completely taken aback my the ride quality.

      Final Words A MUST BUY. Beauty of a Beast. Best Mahindra car till date. Hope they upgrade the cars for us early birds if they wish to change anything in the car. After owning a Scorpio, this is more of a luxury kind of car.

      Areas of improvement Needs more boot space. Opening the boot, the plastic button to press and open seems very flimsy.

      The car has an awesome feel to it. It looks very stylish and sexy. Good and smooth drive.If your using the complete back seat for seating then it lacks boot space.

      Exterior The exterior styling is very good a lot of imagination has gone into to it. One of the best looking vehicles on road in india(head turner).

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior looks visually very good. Centre console stylish with gear indicator. Very good legspace in front and especilly in middle row. Third row is pretty fine for short journeys. Road noise is less indside the vehicle. Very comfortable drive for passengers. 

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine produces 140 bhp in this 6 speed transmision gear box. the acceleration is very good in the 3rd and 4th gears,the turbo kicks in very smoothly with no lag. Fuel economy is good as it gives 15kms/liter on highways. The gear ratios are smaller as it has 6 gear configuration. after the 1st gear shift the rest of the gear shifts are very swift.

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality and handling are gud due to the monocoque design. Tried it on the hairpin bend roads giving good control and drive for passengers.

      Final Words The final verdict would be to say that it definitely is a value for money car with lots of features that are not obtained in the price bracket.

      Areas of improvement Interior quality could be improved in some areas. The steering column shud have been disguised. space allotment for the third row/boot space could have done with adjustable middle row seats.

      Exterior

       Its good but its down like profile i dont like it many more iam liking cars like duster, innova, elantra.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       Now coming to a point i dont like its GPS, speakers, A/C, tiretronics. Main point is its 3rd row is less height space and very small like cabin car. In main point its features that they say is working properly only few days. After few days it needs maintainence.

       I hammad Vhora drove XUV from Ahmedabad to Delhi.

      I ride i note some problems that tire tronics i open it displays me that driver side tire is punctured means less pressure. i get out of car and found that tire is alright. I bought it's latest model W4 awd. A/C Gives me very hotair even it is setted at very cold temperature. In front i noticed some vibration and sound of tuttering. It is automatically locked. I reached Rajasthan. Now i try to get out but door is locked.I opened lock then also i not get out. So i get out from back door. Now i continued driving The A/C is now also resulting hot air.GPS is also stopped.I gave it service. After service i take my car. Now it is OK.

       Very bad car.

      Exterior Very good style.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) good. 

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Economy good, but needs a good Atomatic gearbox from Mercedes or Ssangyong (mercedes engine and copy auto gearbox).

      Final Words Make an Auto, friends with Toyotas are ordering Autos next time, I like the XVU500 better, but want it in Auto 4 wheel drive model with leather interior. Ready to buy now in Silver or white, with light coloured interior in Leather.

      Areas of improvement Needs Auto Gearbox and more power . This is an excellent vehicle, I am an English man who lives in Mysore, I only ever buy Mahindra, DP650 and Bolero, although I now have a Tata Nano for the city. The XVU500 is a great looking vehicle, and very good value for money, but times are changing and with so much traffic in the cities like Bangalore, and with owner drivers now more popular than having a driver, an Automatic gearbox is a must, but must be better than the breathless Automatic Scorpio, that my Nano would leave standing with its 620cc engine. Conclusion Automatic Gearbox and more power required. Then it would be a world better at this price.

      During the inspection of 45000km informed that clutch plate burnt completely and it needs to change, it costs 20000/= and then after some time received a call saying that drum, break and all need to change, which costs will come around 50000/=. I don't know why Mahindra is doing like this. Since the cost of clutch plate is around 8000, they are charging around 20000/= + tax 28%. Better i advise that after the warranty period, please take the vehicle outsiders who do this work, can save money of around 25000/=. Their spare parts are costly, better i prefer to go for Maruthi cars. I used it, it was running more than 2Lakh km, if you do the proper maintenance, there will not be any problems

      The Xuv 500 from Mahindra is very utility with bit of luxury car. It is extremely spacious in comparison to its competitors especially in terms of last seat and the boot space as well as the leg space for each individual. The added features in the car gives you purely a luxury feel, the auto start and stop button, touch LCD panel. One of the main things that attracts me is the view that the driver receives while driving.. It makes you feel more confident. The only con that I believe is regarding the service of the car.. You frequently need to get the service done.

      I bought this car in 2015 since then I have travelled almost 1L kms. I have explored entire south India and half of Maharashtra in it. It never disappointed me in my journey. The vehicle is one of the beast I ever had. There were lot of parts that got damaged within 3 years of time but luckily they were all covered in wara ty. At that time purchase this was the best car available in the market within 20L range. Be it in looks or space or power it provided but there some negatives especially the plastics used on the dash were not soft touch. The parts are easily available in the market and service cost were not too high. Overall experience with car performance, comfort, ownership cost, service cost were pretty good.
