You must be paid to write this article. I had the most horrific experience when I entered the Mohan Motors, Mahindra Dealers in Kolkata. I had to wait 10 minutes before a salesman could attend to me and when he eventually arrived, it was the worst demo one can ever received for a car. The price hike of Rs. 50,000/- and the long waiting periods for an XUV which is definitely not meant for off road driving like its competitors Fortuner and Endeavour. The interior is decorated with cheap Chinese plastics and equipment, the air conditioning is faulty, there are no air conditioning vents on the ceiling like the Fortuner, plus there was no rev and pep in the XUV 500 engine. The handling and suspension is poor as you can feel the slightest jerks and bumps on the road Clearly the company is under producing just 2000 vehicles a month to create a false demand a tactic previously used by Nano which has no takers now.
The XUV 500 after the price hike is highly priced for a 2200 cc diesel variant in the segment. After the success of the Renault in F1 racing I would like to wait for the Renault Duster or the Ford Ecosport which have already made it large in the global market and promise to be under Rs.10,00,000/-

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Cheap plastic, poor color, poor carpet, cheap plastic shines during day, you can't drive, it reflects sunlight.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Feels you are driving a tractor, Feels driving a tractor, with hood, nosy, bumpy drive, so much down market, cheap.
Ride Quality & Handling Poor, ride quality, shockers are that of tractor, have not made much progress from tractor maker.
Final Words Poor plastic interior, horrible color combination, change your designer, Poor cheap interior, dashboard is so down market can't read signs, horrible interior color, poor mileage, nosy, no class at all.
Areas of improvement Change cheap plastic interiorinterior, cheap plastic, horrible color, poor brakes, poor speakers, seems they picked from Chinese market, sound quality so so so poor and horrible, just waste of money, pls use better standard product, stop cheating ppl, you will tired tired of service station visit. Look and Style front grill is over worked, interior is so down market, so cheap, just can't get the designers involved, seem sitting inside village bus, pls use better plastic and pls change color. Speakers are cheap chinese product, just cheap, Comfort bumpy, poor ride quality.
The interior color is so down market, can't get why the interior is just poor color combination. spending just few hundred u can improve. Pls get rid of cheap shinny plastic, the competition is tough. Pickup ok, but still feel I am driving a tractor.
Mileage city mileage is 9 not 12, Best Features space second row, Needs to improve - plastic color, interior color. It is down market, cheap.
Overall Experience Please change PLASTIC QUALITY of interior, if you drive in highways on a sunny day can't drive due to sunlight reflection. also change the Cheap interior color it just downgrades the entire vehicle. Please these are small things high time to address it.

Exterior The exteriors are so good i think good is not enough its excellent because that xuv like a imported vehichle.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are not good that plastic quality, boot space, leg space its not so good & also that seat comfortablity not so good in long drive.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Actually in this xuv I want automatic transmission because that gear box is verry hard for shifting a gears.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good on bad roads i had driving some 900 kms handling so good i had riding in top speed 170km/ its very good for running on this speed
Final Words This is very good xuv totally value for money some problems in interior or gear box i think mahindra will be clear that problems in future because if they don"t so they will loose his customers and royallity.
Areas of improvement Gearbox, plastic quality(not so good like i am in toy ), boot space,(i think that boot space good for your pet like rat) back leg space

Mahindra has done it again, They have proved that they are 4 step ahead of all competitors. For all those who desire an SUV in the price range of 10 to 20 lacs, I suggest forget everything and stick to XUV 500. I owned a scorpio earlier and I got my XUV.The features that I liked and which is not available in most of the high end 20 – 25 lacs cars:
Cornering Headlamps As soon as you steer left or right the LED lamps glow in that direction and illuminate that corner. Helps a lot while driving and is a nice concept. Other than this the head lamps are very strong and give a very nice illumination and the LED lamps add to the macho look.
ABS, ESP, Traction control, all 4 disk breaks, curtain air bags, follow me home lamps, follow me to car lamps, ambience illumination etc. All these features are not available in most of the cars. Pajero sport which costs 25 lacs does not have traction control. Innova with same pricing has only 20-30 % features compared to XUV. MACHO looks. The car really looks stunning. Bound to turn heads. 6 gears. A very nice pick up. Engine pickup is better than scorpio.
A very nice infotainment panel. GPS with voice control adds to the pleasure of driving. Just follow the voice and reach your destination. Connect your phone by Bluetooth and talk hands free, Tiretronics, reverse parking assist, auto wiper, auto head light etc. All are nice features.
Nice interiors. Most of the reviews here say that interiors are cheap. I completely disagree with them. I found the interiors to be very nice. Seats are comfortable and panel looks nice.
Got highway mileage of 14.2 kpl for first 300km. Its really decent. Mileage is better than scorpio till now. Voice recognition, Cruise control, Steering answer of phone, nice music system. Micro hybrid engine turns off automatically when held in traffic. This reduces fuel consumption. Leg room is ample in middle layer. Cool box can be used to keep chilled cold drinks, chocolates etc.
Disadvantages: Last row has very less legroom and is uncomfortable. They could reduce some leg room from middle layer and increase the third row space to make it more comfy.
Suspension is poor compared to innova. When on bad roads, Each and every pot hole and road vibration can be felt in your tummy. Jerks can be felt.
Overall I would say this is the best car on Indian roads as on date. Those thinking of buying an SUV forget all and buy XUV500 even if you have to wait for 6 months. It’s a woth buy and complete Paisa wasool.

I am using XUV 500 for 4 months. Out of 4 months almost more than a month vechicle is in work shop for various problems like clutch / break / gear problems. I used USB only today and found that lot of cracking noise with all usbs. i tested with more than 10 USB drives all are giving same problem. when i visited workshop they upgraded firmware to latest one issue still there. then they took the drive and kept in 5 more vehicles every where there is same issue. i asked them to test with their own pen drive but it also has same issue in all 5 xuvs. then they told that system is designed like that and they cant help. Same pen drive perfectly plays songs with out cracking noise in samll cars like alto, why XUV people cannt remove that cracking noise.
The response from mahindra dealer service people in hyderabad is pathetic. I strongly say even vehicle looks are good, I am not able to receommend this car to any one due to worst service from dealers and also mahindra regional managers. if you have enough patience to roam around workshops, this is right car for you.

Poor quality, defected seats belts, seat covers just ok in quality, no space for luggage if seated by 8 person.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
deisel mileage not good, engine is better and efficient to control the car.
Ride Quality & Handling
Comfortable to ride, gives edge over the other cars, sturdy on road, hill control or car on slope slips.
Final Words
Purchased it 3 months back with lot of ecitement and joy but all gone in vain as :
- RC not recd. as yet. Car Number requested to be in multiple of 3 not got but got something in sum of 13 which is not accepted and asked for some solution but of no use.
When the person came with number plate (13 only) it was printed wrongly.
-Seat belt of the side seat of a driver is defected not opening up properly. All twisted from inside, it was there when we bought the vehicle.
- No subscription of Lifestyle Magazine started. False assurance everytime of such a small thing.
- Remote of car stereo not working since car was been purchased
Areas of improvement
CUSTOMER SUPPORT SHOULD BE EFFICIENT ENOUGH TO SOLVE CLIENT'S PROBLEM , MORE ATTENTIVE AND SHOULD BE CHECKED BY SENIORS. PURPOSE OF CLIENTS SATISFACTION SHOULDE BE ACHIEVED.
MAHINDRA DEALER: SHIVA MOTORS TEAM SHOULD WORK WITH ATTENTIVE MIND AS THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO CATER TO CUSTOMER'S QUERIES. CAR SHOULD BE CHECKED BY THEM BEFORE DELIVERING IT TO THE CUSTOMER. SENIORS SHOULD COME UP WITH PROPER SOLUTIONS.
BECAUSE IN ABSENCE OF THESE ABOVE WILL RUIN THE IMAGE OF MAHINDRA CARS.
We have two other cars honda city and i 10 ,I am happy to report that we are highly satisfied with the performances and customer support division.
We wanted this time XUV segment car therefore purchased this one. I still look forward to my new car with lot of hope for happy journeys ahead in all spheres please dont spoil my experience.
