I got delivery of my TUV3OO T8 Manual on 16 Sep 2015 from Koncept Mahindra, New Delhi. It was the first car they delivered in Delhi NCR.

Now it’s being a month and covered more than 3000 kms since I purchased my TUV 300. It is working perfect.

I have observed that many people are comparing this vehicle with Ford eco sports, Duster or even Hyundai Creta. I think you cannot compare TUV 300 with these vehicles because it will not be justified. As all these vehicles are not a SUV but are big pumped up hatch backs.

There are basic technological feature of a SUV such as:-

1.      Rear wheel drive (For better Stability and Off road capabilities)

2.      Ladder frame chassis (Rugged and Flexible Chassis suitable for Off Road activities)

3.      Double fishbone suspension for front and Multi Link suspension for rear. (Durable in any kind of terrains)

Please check specification of any real SUV (e.g. Scorpio, Innova, TATA Safari or Fortuner).

None of these cars (Eco Sports, Duster and Creta) has any of these technologies.

SUV means ruggedness, for which you need above mentioned technologies.

I think if you are a real adventure lover and want to feel confident while driving your vehicle in any kind of terrain, TUV300 is the best option available in the price range with all Real SUV advantages.

If need to compare, I will compare this vehicle with Mahindra Scorpio. All those who drove Mahindra Scorpio before and love the vehicle, I bet you will love this Mini Scorpio. Yes, this is what I call TUV 300.

Technically TUV 300 got the same chassis structure as of New Scorpio, Similar gear box, better ground clearance and same ride quality.

Finally Verdict: It is a very good option for a entry level SUV, You can enjoy city drive and also enjoy terrains like in Manali-Leh highway.

Good NVH levels, Engine Torque, Space.Front Power window switch in center console, No Rear AC vents

My TUV 3OO purchased on 13-11-2015 ( 5 months) with Automotive Manufacturers Pvt Ltd ( Mahindra dealers ) suddenly stopped moving in the middle of the road. After some time I managed to put the vehicle in 1st gear & parked on the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the nearby Mahindra workshop, 'VVC mahindra at Hightech city' and VVC Mahindra dealer said that the clutch & flywheel are damaged and need replacement. The total cost quoted was around Rs 45000 ( Forty Five thousand Rupees )  ( please find the quotation attached) and asked me to pay. My vehicle is still under guarantee. Even though the vehicle is done only 18000 km, they say this is not due to manufacturing defect !!!. I have already raised a complaint calling 18002096006 ( The guy said that I will get a call from area manager of Mahindra in one day time ) .Unfortunately I am one of the earliest owners of Mahindra TUV3OO and bought the car without waiting for the users feedback and got carried away with the looks.

Now, if these are the problems that I have to face in the first 5 months of purchasing a brand new car I really wonder what sought of issues I should be facing in a few months, I am completely depressed and feel like I have been cheated 10 lacs.

Final Words Good Experience not to TRUST the vehicle mahindra TUV 300,its  not Road worthy as the claim of Mahindra.

We just bought a Mahindera TUV 300 and it has only been a disastrous experience. We settled for another colour than what we had booked because the company suddenly informed us of a one an half month delay. The car delivered to us by Snowview, Kumarhatti, Solan has given us following problem till date and it had to be taken to the workshop in the first week of its arrival.

- The car had clocked more kilometeres than what I drove. Upon inquiry the manager of the showroom confessed that that cars don’t come by trala as he had told me earlier but are driven down from Panchkula. I don’t if I should believe him or not.

- The door behind the driver seat will not lock through car remote

- The coolant in the engine which usually needs to be changed after 20000 kms keeps dropping whenever it likes.

 

I was assured after the car went to the workshop that the problems have been fixed and faulty parts have been replaced but I am writing this and getting ready to take the car to the workshop again. I want this car replaced or fixed or my money back. 

 

Good fuel economy and spacethe doors couldnt be locked, the coolant just reduced, not the colour I wanted

Exterior Look and Style: Yes, it indeed looks like a box but that's the military look - it gives the vehicle the rugged and strong look. But it's not that bad a look. Making it curvy would have defeated the purpose of a SUV.

Did a small test drive and found the seating to be comfortable. With the arm rest positioned correctly, the gear shifting was easy. But the gear itself seemed a bit tight but I cannot judge it at the moment because it was fairly a very small test drive.

Pickup: It was quick and I could feel the charge. Some reviews say it will reach 110 kms/hr very fast but above that it's slow, cannot and did not test that. But from my test drive, the pickup was indeed good and the steering was quite steady. I could go max only upto 70 km/hr due to the traffic, that too just reached 70 and slowed down.

All necessary features seemed to be available though personally I do not like the windows switches in the middle. Pricing is very less compared to the Creta and S-Cross, so that makes it more appealing. Would have loved to have the auto climate control, cruise control and push start. Push start is a must for such SUV's. Hopefully Mahindra will add it later.

Overall looks to be a winner! Exterior if not soo good but traditional.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are smashing,comfort like a plane.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It comes with hawk engine,with 90 bhp power ang gives me mileage of 18 kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good but it doesnt come with a cruise control

Final Words It is a tougest car, if it design is improved it will give competetion to bmw x1.

Areas of improvement Design should be changed.

Final Words Good Experience not to TRUST the vehiclem,its  not Road worthy as the claim of Mahindra. On the 10th day Jan 2016  i took a short trip along with my family(7 people) to Nanjangudu from Bangalore with a distance of 186 Kms from my home in Yelahanka, while iam back with all my family members (Aged from 9 yrs -8o yrs) the much trusted and beloved TUV300 T8 AMT purchased on 1 jan 2016- got brokedown in the middle of the road and stopped suddenly (motionless) like a Devil nearly 5 times, i think by Gods grace we all escaped from the clutches of Death miraculously. The deadly and dreadly Incident happened around 4 to 5/30 pm.the Trauma we faced should not be  Even for my Enemies. The Assurance of Help like Taxi for the family  never realised even on the next day too and till date but the Road Assist vehicle came around 11pm to pick the vehicle ,my husband travelled in that lorry and left the vehicle at the service station in that mid night and god only knows how he managed to reach home is not known to me, he will not expose that because he is a great lover & fan of Mahindra because he has used Mahindra Armada for Decades.But iam very sad of my TUV 300 T8 AMT. Let this experience end with me.

Areas of improvement : 

Bought the T8 manual white in April end 2016 after 4 months wait. Drove the vehicle in city for 1500 KM and in traffic one day black smoke came out of engine and gears did not work for some time, I stopped the car to side, waited it to cool down and went home somehow. Next day I sent the vehicle to their service center, they kept it for one day and said nothing wrong with the vehicle, they have instructed me not to drive in 2nd gear and not use clutch so much. Not sure how can we drive not using 2nd gear and clutch in traffic. Drove another 500 km, finally it broke down near necklace road middle of big junction. Engine is running but unable to change gear. It was a big traffic jam everyone honking from behind, traffic police by my side somehow pulled the vehicle to side, waited for 3 hours for the towing company tow the vehicle to service center. Next the service person called and told clutch plates are gone and will be replaced free of cost. Took two days and said the parts were replaced. The vehicle is back but now I feel kicks when I change gears, it is not at all smooth. I have complained again that problem is not resolved. On top this I am getting mileage 7.9 km per liter with econ a/c on in city driving. Service person told it was due to clutch and now that it was replace I will get better mileage. The vehicle is yet to be picked up tomorrow. I spoke to sales manager about returning the vehicle with so many problems, but he says he has never heard any technical problem so far about TUV300 and he is able to see 25 cars per week and was asking me to call other buyers to check how the vehicle is running. I have no time for that, asked him to either fix or replace.  My family is hesitant to go on this car for long rides with such a bad experience. Will keep you posted. Vijay 9052264000

 

 

Exteriors, featuresGear box and Cluth has serious issues, mileage is 8 km per liter

Exterior What can I say from the Designers of Ferrari (Pininfarina - Italian Design), Its strictly for those who love Muscular looks, rather than curvy unrealistic designs, Please don’t comment on looks until you see it on traffic road among others. You will definitely point out its presence on road. This what looks is all about being diffrent than regulars.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its width is more than Scorpio and Height is more than XUV, so more spacious from inside, If you are buying car with no comfort of seating than what’s the use to spend lacs on luxury. As we Indian has many style to seat (leg folding, leg bending) so relax and seat the way you want (that’s the true luxury in my sense) All basic feature available power windows, ABS EBD, Air Bag , Lack of rear AC vents can be compromised with its powerful cooling AC. Extra Two Seat for family occasions ( Get together even in your car is possible : ) ).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Enough for Indian roads, I usually drove my car 30-60 km in City, & 80-120 on highway, this car can do this both,  Drive on ECO mode to get the good mileage, Company claims 18 kmpl but 15 kmpl is also ok for me for this big size heavy SUV. Gear lever vibrate a Lot, Breaking is average, but as car is heavy it will effect on breaking. You can feels its toughness while driving. So don’t worry about the minor thing that other people point out, I really feel its toughness while driving.

Ride Quality & Handling Feel of actual SUV, High seating posture, as its sub-4 mt SUV you will not feel discomfort in city traffic and Maneuver. Mahindra is an Indian brand, so its repairing cost will be cheap and Mahindra mechanics are available even in small towns of our country.

Final Words Before buying other compact SUV cars, go and feel yourself and see the presence on road. Definitely Head Turner,Way better then (baby-doll) like Creta, Duster, S-Cross, Eco-Sport

Areas of improvement Marketing of Company could be better, Company should compare with other in real world scenarios. People should check atleast once before opting for other options.

Spacious, Manly, Feels Tough, 7 seater, Sub-4 Meter, Covers all basic feature in Base Model, ACGear Box, Engine Heat-up Fast, Company Fitted accessories could be better

Ride Quality & Handling Normal  No much of a differnce but acceptable.

Final Words Mahindras having such a vast experience is relied by a lot of people like me, I purchased the TUV 300 T AMT on 1-1-2016 thro Sireesh @ Bangalore Yelahanka by shelling out 11+ laks that too on Bank finance. The beloved TUV 300 turned to be a Tuss than Tough in my case, my TUV brokedown within 600+ kms of its FIRST Run within 10 days of purchase. While we are back to Bangalore from Nanjanagud Temple(Dakshina Kashi) the trusted TUV 300 STOPPED suddenly in MIDDLE of the road nearly 5 times, I believe god only saved my entire family and a Miraculous ESCAPE  on that day. (7people like 80 yrs.74yrs.70yrs,52yrs,50 yrs,21 yrs+9yrs) The assurance of Mahindra Help line is only ASSURANCE written on water ,even today they are arranging Taxi service for my Family rescue. Till date either Mahindras or dealer Sireesh never bothered to report what was the problem. The dealer is quite happily passing time since he has already pocketed his share of PROFIT, and after facing all this, I was kicked to pay the EMI . this is the Real story behind my purcase of TUV 300 T-8 AMT. Any one wants share the Trauma may call 9243XXXXXX or XXXXXX

Areas of improvement Strict Vigilance to be enforced &maintained at Assembly level and also PDI at both Factory level as wellas Dealer level, first and foremost thing all electrinic assemblies to be double checked and the co. should keep their own person to check all at the Time of Delivery of Beloved vehicle to its Customer. Mahindra and Its Dealer should treat the Customer in proper respectable way even after SALES.

Fuel economy o.k. LOOK acceptableNot TRUST the Engine

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) BAd quality start making vibration in less then 2000 km driven.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Under powered. cranking sound, jerks very bad product.

Ride Quality & Handling 3 stars.

Areas of improvement Its one of the bad product of mahindra, right now the new vehicle they are doing testing on customer vehicle, please do not by you will suffer and the response level is very bad.

The delear INDIA GARAGE, is pathetic no response nor they know whats happening on my car after taking for service, the beg for good review on them rather then earning it.

As apprised you, dealer technical team inspected the vehicle & cleared the system fault code, during team trial said concern could not be reproduced. Since this is an unusual incident happened in such a short span after delivery, we are involving M&M expert team to inspect vehicle, kindly request you to bear with us till such time.

Also as discussed, marking a copy of this mail to Mr Hameed AGM service India garage who will connect you to arrange a vehicle for your mobility.

We do not see any persistent issue in the vehicle. We are taking all due care to address the apprehensions raised by you. We once again regret to inform you about our inability to meet up your expectation of replacement of vehicle or refunding the money. I hope you will understand the rationale behind the decision which also in accordance to the industry practice.
