      its great attempt by Mahindra.Value for money.Its engine performance is comparable with many imported brand in suv.  2006 model feel with many design items overstyled.If mahindra can sort out its highspeed handling problem this is great suv available at this prise.Overall good Suv for this prise.

      value for money,style,easy on maintainance,very easy to drive in city alsopoor handling.

      Whenever our family goes out we trip in scorpio it is simply supurb, when I drive I always feel the male gender of this strong guy with other cars of the same segment on the road.

      Its a family cum sports car. once when we were tripping to Nagapattinam and I was driving, the speed was reasonably high due to late, on a curve I did not notice the 90 degree pin bend, everyone was shocked and some how I made my mind to manage and stabalize the car and I did it, it was because the car has good stability and wheel balance, if same would have happened while driving SUMO, it would have been a major accident and could have been few fatal too.

      The scorpio has shape characteristic of SUVs, its big, its chunky and has loads of road presence. This design has been an eye-catcher among SUVs and has bagged many an award for its styling. There have been no changes done to the shape of the Scorpio. Mahindra though, wanted to bring some distinction between their previous models and this new one. Hence, this new scorp now has an air intake on its hood! No, its not the same types that you will find on those big supercharged American muscle cars, sorry; this one is sealed shut and meant for just looks. There are also changes done to the rear end of the Scorpio; it now has a huge tail lamp cluster running all the way from the roof to the bumper! Just like the Indigo marina you think, but you would be wrong because the top part of the lights don't actually work! The contoured tail lights also call for slightly different rear panels. Going through Mahindra's site, I came across something called the Air extractor!

      Surprised as I was, I checked to see what it was; Its actually the plastic around the last of the side windows and guess what, it has holes. Seriously, Mahindra could really have tried better tricks to impress costumers. Many other minor cosmetic changes include a new style bumper which has air dams! Add on on spoiler ans ski racks to boot. Perhaps now, Scorpio owners will finally benefit from the extensive wind tunnel testing of the Scorpio which rendered the bonnet scoop completely shut! I don't mean to be hard on the Mahindra engineers and their redesign effort. It definitely is good and I'm glad to know that they have fast tracked their development program, unlike their competitors. But, I really hope that the marketing guys at mahindra exercise a little more discretion in their promotion efforts.

      When, I was posted in the cold desert of the world, namely Kaza of Lahoul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh, situated in the Himalayan(western) range.I have seen the His Holiness Dalai Lama visited for the Kalchakra being held  all over the  world  by the  Budhist follwers.We also have accompnied them for security related duties. riding over the same car with the caravan.

      He was travelling  in Land Cruiser but in the Kunjam pass segragating Lahoul sub division with spiti sub division of Himachal Pradesh's tribal belt. The land Cruisers, faces difficulty in the area , Where oxegen is meagre 3% in the  air, SCORPIO performed well in that terrain. Where  only boulders makes the road and  avalanches create icy surface, which really makes the life of the driver near to hell.

      Richard Gere, hollywood star & Budhist follower, came to attend the function with his family in his chopper. In his  back journey also appreciated the performance of the SCORPIO, owned /driven by the maximum perosonal securitymen of the convoy.

      One of the amazing SUVs of India.

      Great in style and also performance. Great technicalities involved in this car. One of the most preferable SUV.

      Interiors too good. One a happily drive to destinations as far as 500kms happily :P as this machine is designed for great stabiltity even at great speeds (But, please drive slowly and safely, as safety of fellow driver friends is also important).

      Nothing much to say about this car, as the number of machines on the road says it all!!! :)

      Exterior Exteriors cannot get better than this, M&M has actually worked on the machine regularly AND has shown the results by adding elements to make it feel good. Side cladding and brick beige stick-on adds attitude to the machine.

      smallest of the elements been considered while reworking on it e.g. back door integrated-step iin the bumper etc. 

      Side view mirrors cannot be folded @ full.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior's of S' are pleasant, the beige feel mix with light brown looks appealing and leaves the space more roomy...space offered is as per the requirement hence they have utilised the space very nicely unlike safari and other players. Ours is family wherein average height is 5'5" - 5'10" and we all feel the space is adequate and same for the second row.

      I have chosen the jumping seat in a last row to have luggage space internally and also a space for kids to play 😊.

      S' has certain features which are unheard in market that too in the price range of 15-18 Lacs...Light sensors, Rain sensors, Tyretronics, cruise control etc... offers a luxury/pride feel of car and at the same time with a feel of SUV. Light sensor I generally switch off in the morning as they don't sense the light as per my requirement 😊, Wish the power windows would have been offered on front doors too...driver arm rest (if used) makes usage of power windows/parking break uncomfortable 😢.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and GearboxM&M has made mHawk silent and powerful...😊, have not faced any issue here and at times even @ low speed I have driven @ higher gear. The fuel economy has always been between 10.5 - 11.5 irrespective if I drive in city or highway.

      Gear Box : Neat though slightly tangently faced. While changing to 3rd gear have faced resistance.

       

      Ride Quality & HandlingBefore the test drive of scorpio I even drove Safari...and this was one of the major reason of shifting to Scorpio. Scorpio has reduced the weight of engine and hence improvise the handling/ride quality here...if I compare this with old, handling is much smart/sharp here.

       

      Final Words I have VLX with airbags,  and most of the people told me that isn't it an expensive (10 Lacs) offering.

      Which car offers so much of space, features in less than 10 Lacs. If you find one, do drive it for few months and let me know. trust me !!

       

      Areas of improvement

      Clutch : comfort to foot is not considered here as in  XYLO. I am unable to use single facia foot...so need to get it checked again. Every time I need to remove foot from clutch to release it @ full.

      Light sensors : seems they are bit sensitive and M&M need to work towards this

      Service : My experience with a dealer has been very BAD, they commit wrong things...and does not respect clients at all. They are just rude.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Happy with space and comforts in the cabin.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox After having done 80K engine feels still new with a lot of punch left in it yet. It fetches me 10-11 average with AC on city roadS and approx 13-14 on highways. Gear box seems to be allright, but the clutch.....tight as ever. Some times it takes a bit of effort to put her on reverse. I will have to shift to a different gear and then back to reverse (happens at random once in a while).

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Inspite of it's size the handling is pretty cool, power steering is quite effective. Ride quality is also good except for the bumpy experience when the load is less. Pick up and thrust is awesome. atleast for a guy who was Driving a M800 initially.

       

      Final Words From my 8 months experience with the beast, i understand it is for people who are passionate about driving a SUV and are ready to compromise a bit on the luxuries of a sedan. I have not spent any thing cosiderable on the maintenance except for the routine ones (oil, lubes,filters etc).

       

      Areas of improvement Suspensions, Plastics quality.

       

      Good visibility, spacious, the confidence it gives you on the road, tough and ruggedNot very good quality plastics used for interiors, suspensions squeal and needs often lubrication,

      Exterior Was ok some special colours and features are added to the new one.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Back seat was not comfortable and person sitting in the back has a horrible when we tarvel through village roads.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Was pathetic my vehicle 1 day the clutch has gone down and it failed to work me with all the family that day was terrible and when I had contacted the helpline they told me to bring the vehicle to the workshop. How can I ride a vehicle without clutch, I thig scorpio is not a cycle to lift I get a mielage of 10kms which I feel was not ok.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling With all the above aspects i coudlnt actually give a justified answer bcz in all ascpects i hate mahindar and scorpio.

       

      Final Words Please dont cheat anybody by giving a faulty machine or car.. I got a feedback that most of the vehicles in the series have the same problem and mahindra has ordered to change the geabox for the faulty one. but my question is if it fails after the guarantee period who will pay for the gearbox???

       

      Areas of improvement Mahindra has introduced modern technologies but they dont know to maintain it well and really ou should train your staff to behave well.

       

      only the lookless performance,start and stop failed to work 2 times, steering controls also fail to work

      Hi:

      I am a Scorpio user and still consider that, Scorpio is a All Fit vehicle at the price and Indian conditions. I am using Scorpio for more than 5 years now. However, due to certain policy of Mahindra, things are going to be tough. I am in Kochi – Kerala, where Mahindra vehicles are sold and serviced by TVS. They are having just one service centre in Ernakulam/Kochi  and one Body shop. The waiting period for a service is over 1 week and small body works, you have to wait in queue for more than 3 weeks for your vehicle to get attended to. There is no scope for JUST IN TIME service. If you have an immediate problem with, say your brakes, there is no one to attend to. The standard reply will be, give the vehicle, and we will check and get back to you in 2-3 days time. What if you are on a trip and you have this complaint to attend to immediately?

      Scorpio is having a large user base here, either TVS should open more service centres or Mahindra should appoint more dealers as done by other players in the market. Soon, people will opt out of Mahindra due to very very poor AFTER SALES SERVICE. I am suffering and so are many others… in Kochi/Kerala I don’t know about  other places.

      Exterior Looks good as compare to other cheap SUV's.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front dash board is unattaractive, filled with all plastic parts, centre console is very poor quality, location of the power window control switches is not good, front seats are very poor quality also back seats. To close the rear door you have to put additional energy. I foud that as per the service people I have to keep one of the other front door open before close the rear door. Crazy system. Vehicle is too shaky an high speed/highways. Uncomfortable to sit in the back seat. Angle of inclination of the back seat is not suitable for long drive.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is good, fuel economy is good, gearbox not smooth, clutch need lot of preassure.

      Ride Quality & Handling Very poor, shaky on highways, very bad for poth holed roads.

      Final Words It is good a vehicle for those who cannot afford to spent more money.

      Areas of improvement Suspension, balancing of the vehicle, front dash board, quality of th seats.
