This car's pickup sucks. It lags below 2000 RPM. The DCT heats up in bumper to bumper traffic. Hyundai advises you to put the car in neutral when you stop. Why would anyone do that all the time in am automatic? Can understand this theory on signal stops but why in stop and go traffic. Modi Hyundai's service centre and showroom have raised their hands saying they can't do much.

Excellent car. Very easy to handle for new drivers. Very smooth on highways and overall happy with the purchase. Gear shifting is very easy and your left leg can rest now. Smooth drive on city roads. Will help a lot in bumper to bumper traffic on city roads. The drive experience is better than AMT for sure.

      1. Looks: Hyundai did a fantastic job again with the Venue. You'll be surprised to see how compact the car is but at the same time how elegant and buffed up It looks. It is based on the same platform as the i20 but does not look like an i20 on steroids. It looks different but really good different. You'll also be surprised to know that Venue is just a few mm longer than a VW Polo but visually appears to be something from a different class. 2. Features: You know your car will be overloaded with features when it's from Hyundai. Sun-roof, Projector headlamps, stardust like effect on tail lights, ABS EBD, 6 Airbags and a really crisp infotainment system. The biggest highlight of the car is BLUELINK. It gives the car Tesla like features where you can remotely switch on/off the car (Only in DCT), Precool/Heat interior, Track the car and many more. This feature has given the car the tag line of 'India's first connected car' 3. Engine: 1.4 CRDi suffers from turbo lag under 1.8K RPM (Like most diesel nowadays) post which the variable turbo kicks in which does not push you in the seat but rather gently. The engine produces 89bhp and about 220 nm of torque. It does seem a underpowered. Just imagine if Venue had the 1.6 CRDi from Creta or Verna. It would blow away the other cars in the segment. I say this because the steering feel of Venue in spite of being Hyundai-ish, feels very direct and i'm sure would be very fun to drive too. Only the engine lets it down. 4. Interior: Fit and finish is great like always but the plastics used aren't the best and feel scratchy. I'm not complaining that it is bad but Nissan Kicks has leather on the dashboard and door panels which is one of the few places the occupants touch and feel the most. Rear seat is also cramped. It's much smaller in the back than the Xuv300 or the competition. The car is not the widest in the segment too which means the rear seat experience is not going to be great. Plus I noted the lacking under thigh support (I am 5 feet 8 inches tall) The headroom has no issue though. You also get rear A/C vents which is a delight for Indian climate. 5. Cons: A) The interior quality could be a little better B) BlueLink is a fantastic idea but totally depends on network plus I noticed a lag between command and operations of over 1.5 mins. C) 1.4 CRDi engine is underpowered for Venue (Others might have different opinion) *Venue takes about 16 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. (Fun Fact: in 16 seconds Bugatti Chiron hits 300 from standstill. Fun Fact #2: Light travels 48 lakh Kms in 16 seconds* Just trying to make you understand how slow Venue is. D) Gets fancy features like SOS button on IRVM but misses out on auto dimming IRVM which I feel is a must in a country like India where people drive like blind horses with their high beams on your face. Pros: A) The car looks amazing, pictures do not do justice. In person, I was aw struck. (I'm very picky about cars) B) Infotainment system is the best in segment, not only in terms of features but the quality of the display. C) Has wireless charging. A delight for people who have phones that support it. D) Fantastic A/C. It is single zoned unlike XUV300 which has dual zone but cools the cabin really fast. E) I love the colour options. I love the green and blue colour option. Thanks

I'm using 1.0 ltr turbo petrol engine. Have Good riding comfort and some attractive features. One and the major problem is turbo lag. The vehicle can not move in a hill area with low rpm.

I'm glad to write a review of my venue S plus 1.20L. I had serviced 2nd free service, changed engine oil, air filter and completed wheel alignment and balancing, rotation. No complaints till date. Paid only consumables cost. Had some technical wheel balancing issues and was resolved by MRF Tyredrome. Consistent mileage tight traffic 14-15 kms. Moving traffic 15-15.70 kms, fast traffic without much stop in city up-to 17kms. V smooth and refined engine with sound insulation. I feel better pick up after 2nd service. What could be better or expected issues? Sometimes, there is a clutch release shudder. I stopped using hand brake and using gear while parking. There could be an issue due to rain of tight brake release. Tyre sound is coming up slowly. Majorly, Google Voice assistant sometimes don't work. May be safety reasons not sure. Missing front cabin light and sunglass pocket holder, TPMS. Legless start stop button. Require dct or cvt in 1.20L. Overall, v good and safe car to drive with family. Drive at allowed speed, don't over speed and risk your, others life! Let us care for others as well. Thank you.

I bought the Venue SX Plus 1.0 AT Petrol in Dec'19 after careful deliberation and extensive test rides on competition C-SUVs (only automatic). During the decision making, I also went through multiple reviews by experts and users of the Venue. As per my experience, Brezza 2019 (sturdy vehicle with Maruti assurance, but a very stiff suspension + outdated features + poor interiors), Nexon( wide-bodied and comfortable, not sure, but I dint get an SUV feeling + AMT in this car wasn't that gr8), EcoSport ( good quality&looks, but cramped for space, more so if you are on the taller side + way too pricey ++ with the GM story in India, wasn't quite confident of the future ++ mileage was ??), XUV300 ( awesome car, loaded with features, possibly the best AMT in its category - everything seemed right except that I found it over priced for a M&M car and its services) Finally zeroed down to the Venue DCT. I have driven an American & a German sedan for over a decade, both of them were best sellers - Fiesta(old) and Vento. These 2 cars were very powerful and therefore my expectations from the C-SUV were similar in terms of power. At first I was a bit apprehensive about the 1.0 cc Petrol engine of Venue being able to match up to my expectations, but post the test drive and finally after having driven it for 1000kms+, I can say that I have made the right choice. I have read reviews about the Venue being under powered which is surprising because after having driven powerhouses like Vento(D) and Fiesta(P) - I seemed to relish it. The best part is the steering, it could not have been smoother. The height is fine and at 6ft. there is more than enough head room unlike say, an EcoSport. The turbo is what gives you that additional power and if you are wondering how a 1.0 Lt engine is feeling so powerful, guess, its the 172Nm of torque combined with 120PS of max. power. So far, the ride in city and on highway has been even and smooth. The dickey size is adequate and in the rear 3 passengers(of normal size) would feel comfortable with the seating and also the rear AC vents. On the cons, as claimed by the critics that the rear of a Venue doesn't look like an SUV, I tend to agree with them! Some key features are missing like rain-sensing wipers, rear wipers,IVRM etc. which are available with competition. On the driver side, the panel for OVRM control, central locking, power windows has just one button illuminated which makes you struggle at times in the dark. Since I have experienced Ford and VW, the quality of glass/interiors/plastics and even the vehicle manual is not comparable and this is true of other competition CSUVs,as well. All in all a good vehicle to own and drive, go for it.

As I briefed about the smooth buying experience, this is my real-time review after driving few hundred kilometres. 1. Mileage: With automatic AC, 14.50 kms mileage received typical city drive with break, gear change and accelerate signal stop and go, bumper to bumper traffic, maintain a speed of 40 to 70kms speed. Touched once 80kms. Kudos! 2. Riding experience and gear shift: When you leave the clutch without the accelerator, car moves with ease. 1st gear 1,000 rpm, then maintain 1,500 to 2,000 rpm is more than sufficient. 3rd gear to 5th gear direct at regular speed is comfortable in light traffic conditions. Riding centre smooth and power is smooth, not jumpy per my driving style. 3. Rear Seat: It is a 4 seater car for comfort long travel journey. City long drive in tight traffic will be tough for 3 adults at the rear seat. Thigh support is lacking by half an inch. Legroom is minimal being compact xuv. Overall, 4 passengers v comfortable. 4. Suspension: Suspension is v smooth and it takes bumps. Remember, it also depends on the tyre air. If you fill 36psi for one or two passengers will be bumpy. 33 is comfortable. 36 Imad recommended for 4 passengers with luggage. 5. Steering: Although turning radius is high, it is v light and turns neatly even in small streets. Don't expect like Innova :-) 6. Front seat: V comfortable with back support and thigh support like with back pain can drive long. 7. Front view is v comfortable and driver seat adjustable, tilt steering. 8. Easy moving car even at lower rpm at third gear with two passengers. 9. Headlight: Cornering and positioning head lamps are really helpful when you're driving in the night, dark roads. As per your steering turn, headlights follow the same direction. Dark roads on sides and blind turnings are much more visible provides additional safety for drivers. 10. Amt climate control and music system: Sound experience with tweets doing the job in enjoying the music. Plastic vibrations are common with bass, high volume. 11. Amt headlamps: Good feature as it take care of managing even at grey days in rain. In order to save the fuel and battery energy, I manually switch off headlights in the signal. Overall 4.80 out of 5 stars for value for money. This weekend highway drive. Next week, I will post the review of my highway experience. Thanks

We never had Hyundai Venue as our first choice when we thought of upgrading from our existing 8 year old Suzuki Swift ZXi. Our requirements were simple. We live in a Tier 2 city and so wanted something that could be used within the city as a daily ride, for me as well as my better half, easy to maintain and with a good mileage. We were seriously considering VW Polo, Ford Ecosport and Kia Sonet as the prospective next car. I always long for a VW, be it the looks or the ever assuring thud while closing the door, Polo had been a dream car for me. But the maintenance cost was the bummer here. Also, the features and the interiors feels a bit outdated. Nevertheless, it remained on our list. Ford - amazing customer engagement by the staff. Booked for a test drive and they promptly followed it up and brought the car to my door step. Took a ride around the city and the executive was super helpful in explaining the features, service cost and the maintenance. Unfortunately, the very next week Ford made the decision that broke the hearts of many Ford enthusiasts. Then comes Sonet. It was an all together a different story here. The local dealer was not at all customer friendly. It felt like going to a crowded SBI branch. No one cares why you were there. Pathetic is the word. I loved the looks and the features of the car and wanted to take a test drive. They straight away said they can't provide a test drive. If I make a booking, they could arrange one in a few days. And to make it worse, came across a guy there who was trying to get back the booking amount and the executive were kinda blaming him for making the booking without understanding the waiting period. That was it, happily left the showroom. Whose loss is it anyways? Now that two out of three original choices are out of question, we started looking wide. Here comes Venue. To be honest, I never liked the looks of Venue. It always felt a few inches short. Anyways, a test drive was booked for the DCT variant. In a few hours, test drive car was there, but an iMT one. The moment i started taking a stroll, I totally fell for it. An absolutely city friendly car. Thought a bit apprehensive in the beginning, iMT was a breeze , along with Hill hold assist, worked like a charm. Feature laden, 6 air bags, convenience of iMT and good fuel economy, we straight away went ahead with booking the SX(O) iMT Petrol variant. Yes, it is not a value for money variant, but I always tend to buy the fully loaded variants and doesn't like after market additions. Now, with the chip shortage in place and a huge demand due to the impending festival season, it took more than 8 weeks for our car to be delivered. No qualms in the registration process, everything was taken care off by the amazing sales lead and our car was delivered in a simple manner. Now coming to the things that I don't like in this car. First thing is that, from a drivers point of view, there is no auto dimming rear view mirror. It felt like a major miss for a full option car that costs over 13 lakhs on road. Second thing is the gear lever and the surrounding area looks from a basic car. I mean look at Kiger or Nexon , they have a more premium look because of the piano black finish and the design of storage . By the way people used to ask me why i didn't went for Nexon. The reason is Tata itself. From my experience of previously owning a Tata car, they don't believe in after sales. A decade ago, they had bad cars and equally bad service. Now their cars might be good, but the service remains bad. It is going to be further bad given that the sales have multiplied and Tata doesn't have increased the service capabilities. Coming back to Venue, third thing I didn't like is the vibration in the doors while playing a high bass music. Another thing i didn't like is that the head lights, though a projector type, is still halogen. Space constrain in the rear seat is a known fact and so not going to elaborate. Another thing is that the spare wheel is a 15" steel wheel. Can't Hyundai afford to give a full size tire as a spare ? That's it. I hope you find this helpful. Thank you. Be safe.

1.2 petrol variant is just an eyewash to people who wants only the looks of a compact SUV. its really under powered with the same 1.2L, 83 BHP engine used in i20 and Nios. Also there are SUV's in the market (don't want to name it) with same price range providing must have safety features like vehicle stability management, roll over mitigation, emergency brake assist, Hill hold control etc, which 1.2 Venue variants doesn't have. Wondering why any of the auto experts or reviewers have never mentioned this anywhere.

Venue is my first car, best car for middle class family. Built quality is very good compared to suzuki. I drove my friend Baleno. I felt better quality of venue. little disappointed over mileage gives 13-17 depending on road and speed. mileage depends on quality of Petrol.. particularly hp petrol gives very less mileage 11 -14..indian oil, Bharat gives 13-17.
