      Well .....I purchased this car recently and this is my first car so I am very much excited about it.Not sure if this is too early to write anything in this forum.From day 1 I was sure that I am going to buy Santro GL so never tried any other car.It's been for one week I am driving this car and I love it.I'd learned the driving 1 year back and after 1 year when I started driving with this new car, it's like cruising on the road.It's so easy to drive and the performance is absolute great .AC is fantastic.Pick up is great and onroad performance is superb .In heavy traffic I faced some problems(as I am new driver),however got hold of the same in couple of days.Overall I'd say,it's a fantastic car in it's segment .Also the car dealer (Sanjay Hyundai,Pune) is very nice with their customer services,however their service centre is not up to the mark as far as customer service is concerned, as they have many Lazy people who doesn't understand what is called as customer service.They have very few good people who really listens to you.It's good to go there and speak to the Manager directly.I strongly suggest everyone who want to have a small , comfortable ,reasonably priced,easy care and less maintenance car......should buy Santro.Absolute easiness while drivingNot yet found any

      I am a proud owner of santro white dec 2006 model.
      I had driven it for 240000 i.e. more then 2Lakh kms out of it 180000 on cng my car cost had recovered and i feel i had used it the most rugged manner been to nepal, ladakh, 20 time to lensdown [jungle resort] , even once 6 people with luggage for 18 days to Pindari glacier.  this car is truly a master piece. I had expanded around 70,000 rs more as 4 times all tyres were replaced and engine overall after 2lakh km still on petrol this car is giving me an average without ac on hills of 18KM/Ltr and on cng ac on 20Km/kg.
      I would recommend you all to go for it if you are a rough driver like me till now 2 times I had changed chasis as my car went with accidents 2 times and after accidents also we finished our tour and came back to delhi from punjab and 2nd time from bagheswar hills . I have no issues with car this car has given me enough just imagine from delhi to manali to rohtangpass to zero point then to laddakh with only 2 stoppage in between and 6 people were there. another instance is we drove it for nonstop 3days 2nights with some necessary halts of 15 to 30 min. after every 6 to 8 hrs.
      this car can really be like a suv I had placed rubber [gutka] on the rear shockers so that i can get 20mm of ground clearance more .

      I recommend to users that go for santro if you drive rough not concious about speed breakers or pits.

      I am very satisfied with it I will go for a new car only becaust of space as my backspace is occupied with cng cyllender now i am seeing suv.

      i am seeking for a diesel car now plus space my first preference is ford fusion then tata safari 3rd is scorpio

      no doubt ford fusion is good in fuel economy plus cheaper then two kindly suggest me as i had heard ford do not give good services.


      Strong body , fuel economy , very rugged like suvless spacious

      Fantastic family car. I was using this since last 10yrs onwards. One Negative thing is that the spare parts and service costs are much higher (Done only showroom services). Vehicle touching 1.8L kms and still feeling like a black horse.

      Exterior This is better leave up to readers since today when the industry is flooed with too many cars each individual have there own perspective. i personally judge the car by its performance, maintenance cost, FE & very important is budget I have 😊

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Again here I am 5.7 and daily commute alone to office so I will say this is too much spacious. However even on weekends I travel along with my wife, 1 year son and my mom n dad & is well suited for my needs. (infact this car is always suitable for my needs but no car is made yet which is suited for my greed).

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent pick up in this segment. this gives a ease comfort in bumper to bumper traffic in Pune City. Gears are like sliding a spoon on butter. FE is something which I am happy. I am getting a constant average of 14+ in City & 18+ in highways with 100% AC on. Once while doing a Pune- Thane-Pune-Thane-Pune trip in single day I have acheived a FE of 22 KMPL on xpress way without AC. This was done while my brother got transferred to Thane & helped him in shifting his stuff in Santro. This was after the 2nd Free service at about 8K on ODO. I wanted to check the maximum effeciency hence didn't switch on the AC & was driving at constant speed of 80-90 KMPH.

      Ride Quality & Handling Again ride quality is best at 3.80 L worth car. I myself have tried at speeds upto 120 on express way & other certain National Highways but found that above 100 you need to hold a force to get a stable steering grip. in short above 100 I do not recommend this tall boy to run unless you have a straight visible road ahead.

      Final Words I am happy with my move with Santro GL & now it has clocked 40 + K on ODO with only normal servicing charges. I have recently replaced the wheels with tubeless upsize (Michelin XM+) and set of alloys (Star spokes) which is giving a better grip on road.

      Areas of improvement The gear kno placements is acting like obstacle if a average tall person seats ahead. Basically the person has to sit in strict position without moving his right leg (Sawdhan position) 😊.

      Handling, mileage & almost allGear knob position & stability at speeds above 100

      Gear ratios are perfect. Overall riding is good. But still missing so many features in interior. Best for family utilities. Lack of sporty look. Maintenance and genuine parts are costy.

      Exterior Conventional design however suited for middle age and senior adults not so much for young adults.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are not at all luxurious compared to Chevy beat or other cars in the segment eg wagon R,seating comfort is zero especially in the driving seat and quite hard,orthodox speedometers and odometers Hyundai can update them to keep up with the times.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Clutch assembly and clutch gets tight after a few 1000 kms and clutch is quite hard compared to other vehicles in the segment.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Excellent and best to drive in crowded cities and places. Easy to park and ride.

       

      Final Words If low on budget and to buy your first car ,santro xing is your best option else go for i20, i10 not so much. Seating comfort is a compromise.Best for people who are mindful of their wallets.  Easy to drive, great fuel economy and service centres are well known for this car so any kind of service can be expected,easy to handle and smooth driving, though changing gear can be quite a menace due to hard and tight nature of the clutch. If a little more money can be spared, I would advise going for the chevy beat.

       

      Areas of improvement Odometers and speedometer, seating and interiors can be made more comfortable.

       

      Fuel economy,Excellent handling,smooth driveclutch gets hard and tight after a few thousand kilometers,interiors relatively not luxurious

      Exterior The exterior of this car is very good in design, but not too eye catching. looks a bit bland but considering the model is old it shouldn't bother anyone

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front seats are spacious it has a clutch guard placed appropriately.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox These are the best parts of the car. Very quiet and torquey engine. Less vibrations at 80 km/hr and above, has a very high highway economy of above 20.

      Ride Quality & Handling Very smooth to ride, turning radius is quite small so you have to make sure you can make those U turns before attempting them or you'll be reversing and moving again, can get a bit shaky above 100 km/hr. disc brakes are very efficient. 

      Final Words This car is value for money and it offers a lot of comfort too. doesn't require too much maintenance all in all a good all rounder.

      Areas of improvement Looks, Looks, Looks. It needs a few tweaks atleast.

      Good Fuel Economy, Sturdy Build, Spacious.Exterior isn't too Eye catching.

      Very economical car ,the boot space is gud enough and it is very comfortable to drive in city side main road and there is small vibration when 5 gear is used and the good think is when speed of the car reduced the gear get shift automatically according to the speed.
