Exterior On the outside its got a standard hyundai fluidic style... depends on indivisual likes but i like the style got more agressive looks than the previous one, decent looking alloys and decent build qality too.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Got a good combination of greyish brown and beige, quality of plastic used is good, seats are comfortable( comfotable for 3 average sized adults in the back row and also good leg room), got the best features in the segment(rain sensing vipers, bluetooth, rev cam..etc. sportz variant is on par or even better than top end swift), good enough boot for a hatch, good cabin quiteness. But the ac is not something to boast of.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox A powerful engine for a hatch a 90hp,220nm one... but the engine has a turbo lag till about 1700-1800rpm but after that it picks up really well. coming to fe getting about 13-14 in city with full time ac and about 18 in highway, this comparatively less than other hatchbacks like swift but its worth it for that kind of engine and got a smooth gearbox too.
Ride Quality & Handling Suspensions are not that good and the handling takes some time to get used to as it is a little light for my liking. But still manages to take speeds in execess of 150+ very well without any fuss at all.
Final Words Finally I would definitely suggest you to go for i20 even though it is little costlier than switft and punto but its worth paying for especially if one is looking for a good family car then no reason to look beyond i20

Exterior I guess I don't have to say anything about the interiors. The car does have excellent looks. The alloys could have been better. Btw, the wind shield cracked on its own the 2nd day. It got replaced under warranty.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are good too. Space is better than any available hatch-backs. It is reasonably comfortable. Can't complain.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Here comes the disappointing part. I had a budget of 8 lacs and wanted to upgrade to a bigger car (bigger than my lovely Punto). Test drove Fiesta Classic, but due to old looks and cheap interiors, didn't go for it. All other cars were either of Punto's stature in terms of size and price or above 10 lacs. So, WITHOUT test driving, I booked i20 CRDi Sportz. Biggest mistake I made to buy my contliest car till now.
The usual driving thing, applying brakes on 3rd gear while turning and guess what, Ms. Sportz doesn't pick-up on 2nd gear, even at the speed of 20 kmph, You have to downshift from 3rd to 1st gear. Okay, got kind of used to it. But here comes the shocker, last weekend, gave the parking slip to the guy while taking out my car from a basement parking at a mall, and the car went out of breath at 1st gear on a slightly steep turn. Had to use the hand brake, gave extra push to race paddle and picked the car somehow, resulting in clutch plate burning smell. So much for the 4 cylinder, 1399 cc, 6 speed engine! And please, I have over 15 years of driving experience, ranging from petrols to CNGs. So I know how it works. 3 weeks old car and I am already repenting.
Ride Quality & Handling Good in city when you are playing above 1500 rpms. Very confident while jumping into those gaps in traffic. Come to above 100 kmph speed and a slight turn will baffle you up. The suspention is tooooo soft. You can never be confident with the steering. Whats the use of 6th gear and all??
Final Words I won't recommend this car to ANYONE. No matter how old you are or what's your budget, usage etc. Wish had gone for Punto 90HP or Sport.
Areas of improvement This is an engine fault. I don't think Hyundai can do anything about it.

The very 1st thing i20 is a premium B+ segment car, not any hatchback, ya its a bit costly than other hatchs but it actually deserve the price u pay for. Its give u the best luxries and style that u find in only 10L sedans, I did about an years analysis to buy a personal car for me n I always have been choosi. My sis owns swift dezire n cousin owns figo disel. I have been very familier with the two, driven them. and finally I chose i20 sportz CRDi. guys i tell u if money is the only concern u r going with smthin else, i say just save sm for a few more months and go with the best choice.
though my cousin emphasised me fro figo diesel n few others too as figo is cheaper. but here is what I found the differnce btw two.
Figo is just a hatchback, i20 premium B+ segment car though an apple shuldnt b compared with orange but still.
- i20's crdi power 90 ps, 224 Nm vs Figo's 69 ps, 160 Nm
- Better space, Better boot
-no rear power windows in figo even in the top model.
-great looks and style
- Better fit and finish
- Long list of fancy gadgets (that premium sedan feel)
- awesome contol and divebility electronic pow str,( figo got only hydro pow str)
- Better resale value of Hyundai.
i have done abt 3500 kms in 2 mnths and getting milage of 17 kmpl with all time ac on (60% highway 40% city) and 2nd service is still to b done, definitely its gonna improve.
I am a proud owner of i20 CRDi.Trust me you cant go wrong with this car.Especially the top end model comes with all the goodies to satisfy all your needs.I test drove figo tdci when i was in the process of buying the car.Its good but the features cant be compared to i20.i20 oozes a premium feel and the engine in i20 CRDi is a gem!There is no comparison between the ford mill and the hyundai mill.hyundai CRDi is far better.

Comfort: large room, luxuries comfort
Pickup: once turbo opens, its a ROCKET ( just drive it once) and stops like bull.

I bought Hyundai i20 Sportz 2012 (I-gen) car on July 2012, on day one itself, I saw some issues in the steering, and display cluster. I noticed some rattling noise coming from the display cluster. Display cluster was refitted later and the noise disappeared.
Approximately 4 months later (mileage = 4490 km) rack and pinion of the steering started making noise. After the inspection steering gear assembly replaced. Now the steering becomes better and smooth.
December 2012 (mileage = 6901 km): The engine started jerking randomly, it is so bad that all of a sudden the pickup drops and recovers by itself shortly. It happens irrespective of what speed the car is moving. After a month of investigation it was fixed. I still don’t know the root cause. As per the repair slip clutch switch and neutral switches were replaced.
June 2013 (mileage=13000 km): Frequent brake failure, if you suddenly apply brake the car moves as if you have not applied the brake at all. At that instant the brake pedal rebounds and pushes your foot backwards and pedal becomes hard. It is found out that front brake discs are wobbling and are replaced, the quality of disk material was poor.
September 2013 (mileage=15100 km): Brakes pedal again started becoming hard and braking distance increased. These issues are seen before the brake failure during June.
October 2013 (mileage=16740 km): Brake becomes too hard and after inspection booster assembly of brake was replaced. During the replacement process crack appeared in the wind shield (who is responsible for this?) and replaced under warranty. I was informed later. After the replacement of brake booster, braking is better.
October 2013 (mileage=17000 km): Suspensions become stiff/hard, all sort of rattling noise started coming from the dashboard. The rattling noise started only after the replacement of the brake booster. After visiting service station they refitted the cowl and suspension was also checked for hardness.
October 2013 (mileage=17100 km): After using the car for a day rattling noises started showing up again from the dashboard.
December 2013 (mileage=17688 km): Took my car for the third free service (Advaith Hyundai, outer ring road, Bangalore), and they tried to fix the rattling problem, I instructed them not to open the dash board as this issue was initiated by Advaith Hyundai mission road. After the service suspension is as good as new.
December 2013 (mileage=17927 km): Oil started leaking from the Clutch master cylinder assembly. After the inspection Clutch master cylinder assembly was replaced under warranty. Dash board rattling noise still continued to show up randomly.
December 2013 (mileage=18150 km): Display cluster started making hissing noise, which was started on the day I bought this car and was fixed later. For the last 16000 km it was silent.
In addition to this I had visited many times to the Hyundai service center for various issues like suspension noise, door noise, power window issues, poor pickup, dashboard noise etc.
If you look at the above issues major problems occurred in this car are in Steering, engine, suspension, brake and now the clutch, which are crucial for a car. Hyundai service centers I am visiting are promptly attending and fixing the issues, during the course of repairing original quality of fitting is not maintained and I am scared to drive this car, I don’t know when and what component of this car will fail. It is nearly 18 months and so many failures are seen in this car.
I have few questions to HMIL:
Is this car really a new car?
Are components used in my car are genuine?
Is this the quality of the car you sell for Rs. 850000?
Do you people a really understand any responsibility ?
Do you really care for the safety of your customer?
Don’t you think that this car needs replacements?
I have forwarded above thinks to Hyundai CEO, as usuall they forward it advaith Hyundai. There are some Hyundai people in Bangalore when contacted they are talking as if all above issues are very common in Hyundai cars and as long as there is warranty they will replace spares.
This is the solution from Hyundai if you face any problem in your car.
So be carefull while buying Hyundai car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I bought my i20 1.4 crdi sportz on march 2 2012 and i have completed 3000 kms. Performance is faadu. My top speed with this car is 175 -+1. pick up is tyre burning but fe is little low only 17 on highway with cruising at a speed of90 to 100 with using ac(65%). Ride below 2000 km is little weak. After 2000 km it is a diesel rocket. It cruises very relax even at 140 kmph. Its mileage is low bcoz of the 5speed gearbox instead of 6speed gearbox. Can every one tell me that is any mileage difference between 5speed and 6speed car.
Ride Quality & Handling Easy to ride, good to handle.
Final Words A very good hatch to buy.

Exterior Day Time Running lights are amazing, gives a premium look to this hathback. Headlamps are excellently desinged with separate lamps for low beam & high beam, smoked lamps gives it more style than competitors. Rear parking camera with sensors is outstanding thing in this class. I like the exteriors more impressive than any other hatchback in the market.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent interior colors & tone, bluetooth connectivity is awesome with clear sound, speakers sound output is very good, USB & ipod connectivity ports are nocely placed. Cooling glove box a very usefull feature for keeping drinks cool in hot summers of north india. Gear nob is perfect no other car has such a superb nob with such a soft gear box being a diesel & this I'm commiting as I've TD almost every hatchback before finalizing i20 CRDI sportz. Seating space is just excellent, boot space is largest than any other hatch.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is rocking, just hook the seat belts switch it on & this monster is ready to roar, pickup is just amazing. I've touched 160Kmph while on a longdrive trip & believe me the vehicle was simply stable no useless sounds from engine(thanks to 4 cylinder CRDI). I've driven my friends Dzire several times before buying i20 & after driving i20 you will surely feel "Why I've bought this Dzire". The quality of drive which you get in i20 is far far better than Maruti's Dzire or any other of it's model. On highway driving full tank to full tank the first mileage I got was 16Kmpl with 100% ac, obvioulsly my speed was touching always more than 100 at 80% of the route.
Ride Quality & Handling Riding a i20 is simply suberb, just TD a i20 CRDI you will feel the difference, what a quality vehicle with amazingly silent, powerfull & smooth engine. At sharp turns the vehicle is very stable thanks to it's long wheel base & electronic power steering. Only hatch with all four wheel equiped with "disc brakes" with ABS & EBD
Final Words If money is not an issue for a quality product, just go ahead with i20 simply no comparison.
Areas of improvement Well even in i20 sportz model there is no rear wiper while the it's lil sis i10 has..!! this is un justified. Also front passenger airbag should have been there as being a premium hatchback with such a highly priced the company should not think in cutting cost for safety of front passenger.

Final Words
According to me, the car is not satisfactory except engine and body. Had problem with suspension, shok up and AC in below 5000 kms itself.
It costs me more and also wasted lots of my valuable time.
Though pick up drop offered by service centres, it hardly provided. My car gives only 10-12 kms in city and below 15 in long drive (of course i drive faster and its difficult to maintain the speed limit under 80!!). Undertand still bigger cars of other make gives more than 20 kms and based on this car's size and cost mileage should be more than 25 kms.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) INTERIOR QUALITY IS JUST SUPERB. FIT AND FINISH IS UP TO THE MARK. CAR IS TOO SPACIOUS FOR 5, BOOT SPACE IS AWSOME. SITTING IS TOO COMFORTABLE AND CAN FEELS PREMIUM. FEATURES ARE MINDBLOWING. I REALLY LOVE THE FOLDING MIRRORS WHICH IS VERY VERY USEFULL. AC IS TOO POWERFULL, REAR VIEW CAMERA CANT LEAVE WITHOUT IT. Ride Quality & Handling I READ LOTS OF BLOG AND REVIEW.... PEOPLE JUST SAY CAR STEERING IS LIGHT, UNSTABLE AT SPEED ABOVE 100.... BUT ITS ALL WRONG IT RUNS LIKE A ROCKET AND CRUISES COMFORTABLY AT HIGH SPEED. HANDLING AT CITY AND HIGHWAY IS JUST COOL.
