I would like to share my personal view on the i20 experience after driving around 1273 K.M in and around Cochin.
The positives of i20
· Excellent style
· The Automatic temperature control keeps you comfortable during long drives
· Descent Audio system
· Leg room inside the vehicle is superb in fact more than Hyundai – Verna and Swift
· Suspension has been one of the weak points of all Hyundai and I feel with i20 Hyundai has hit the right formula with respect to the suspension. People at back are really comfortable even after 4 hrs of drive.
· Adjustable seats is an value add
Areas where Hyundai could have improved
· Initial pickup: Hyundai has tried to eliminate the only drawback of i10, but has not succeeded fully, I would rather say Hyundai has tried to succeed 80%, you generally get a slow pick up till it touches 25-30 Kmph and just pulls great power after that. I don’t mind this attribute of i20 since I don’t participate in F1 nor the roads & traffic in Cochin are suitable for greater pick up.
· Fuel Economy: It’s too early to comment but still I had a fuel economy of 12- 12.5 Km/liter. Please note that 30% of my drive was in city traffic conditions.

A nice package, well endowed model, though the cost is on the higher side. The curves give it a graceful stance. Backed by solid Hyundai service presence it is a good buy for those who want a loaded vehicle, small but spacious and modern car.
Boot space is a bit contrained but that is what one should not expect from a hatchback. The interiors are pretty modern and are well placed. Fabrics are decent and safety features are plenty.

After a long time I've seen my father take an impulsive decision about a car. We were considering the Swift petrol for an immediate buy, and on a hunch went to Hyundai to check out the new i20. On the way, I told my dad that the i20 is almost 60k more expensive, and my parents were in no mood to pay extra. In any case, they wanted a second car, and they were paying, I was just an advisor.
As we walked into the showroom, the i20 beckoned us. Gleaming silver adds mystery and elegance to it's sweeping curves, and my folks looked smitten. Dad sat down, and was told the stereo, central locking and power windows come standard. So do the parcel tray and full wheel-covers. But I think he was really floored when he was told there is a water/beer chiller in the glove compartment.
Mum (the finance minister of the house) really enjoyed the seats and the leg room. She found drive wonderful and the AC effective. Plus the little orange screen got her hooked. So she asks, asked me if Swift came with all these goodies. I said no, but it was 60k cheaper. She thought buying a swift would also include spending close to 20-30k extra on a stereo, speakers, central locking etc, and will not have power windows, the little orange screen and definitely not a water/beer chiller. Also, this is a brand new car, and with a clutter of Swifts on the road, an i20 would be quite refreshing.
I think in that 5 seconds, they made up his mind about the car. Paying the extra 60k just made so much sense.
Ours was the first i20 on road in Faridabad, and people on the road were curious to see the car. They would overtake us, adjust their rear views, roll down heir windows and ask us questions about the car on red lights.
All in all, a beautiful car, great boot space, and definitely better than the swift!

One of the most important aspects of writing about cars is that you should always (except perhaps for comic effect) do so in appropriate conditions. There would be no point, for example, in trying to go off-road or hammering round Brands come up with in a smart for two. It makes very little more sense to drive a Hyundai i20 for 1100 miles in eight days, since that equates to a very un-i20like annual mileage of more than 50,000 miles, but that's what I've just done. Not my idea. It's just the way the schedule worked out.
When the process started I was convinced I would be roundly fed up of the i20 by the time it ended. But when I climbed aboard and turned on the engine for the last time - for a journey of about three times the car's length, just enough to move it from one parking space to the other - I found myself thinking, "I like doing this. I want to keep doing it. I want to keep this car. I am going to miss it." And I do.
It's not as if the i20 is absolutely brilliant in every respect. In fact, there are things I don't like about it at all. The window design at the rear is silly and the visibility in the same way awful (though no more so in either case than almost every other small car on the market) so reversing and to some extent overtaking can verge on the perilous.
The ride quality is a bit fussy, especially over large bumps, and for me there isn't quite enough interior room, though this wouldn't be a problem for anyone less than six feet tall. Luggage space is pretty good at 295 liters (equal to the Ford Fiesta) but you have to lift your chattels over quite a high sill, which isn't ideal.
But I still loved driving the i20 for reasons that reminded me of my first experience of the original Mazda MX-5. For five miles I wondered what all the fuss was about, since the Mazda didn't appear to do anything outstandingly well; later I realized that it did most things very well indeed, and the harmony of its qualities was what gave it so much appeal.
I have a similar view of the i20, though if I had to pick its most surprising feature it would be the way it copes with long motorway journeys. The key element here is the fact that the seats are much more supportive than they look, allowing me to drive further than usual before my back starts complaining. It also helps that the footrest is extremely well-placed - not too close, not a leg-stretch away. Overall I found that the i20 was more comfortable on a high-mileage trip than many larger, more luxurious and vastly more expensive models I've tried over similar routes in the past year.
It would be better still with a different engine. The 1.25-litre petrol unit in the test car can't cope with very high gearing, so it was a bit high-pitched on a motorway cruise, and fuel economy wasn't especially impressive at 48mpg in ideal conditions and 43mpg on a day when there were strong winds to battle against. The 1.4 diesel engine in the i20 range would have been better on both counts.
I would still have the 1.25, though, partly because it's £1000 cheaper (if you're using the car only for short trips it will take a very long time for the diesel to claw back that deficit in reduced fuel bills) and partly because it works so well. The maximum output of 77bhp isn't class-leading but it's still impressive for an engine of this size, and I prefer its general behavior to that of the more powerful 1.4 petrol, which doesn't seem to be ready for immediate action the way the 1.25 always does.

I purchased Centrol LX in October 2000. When I chosen the vehicle I had seen all other brands from exterior, interior, sitting comfortability, other facilities provided like back seat fold becomes space for sleeping and many more, this was liked by me and my family by all angles. Our judgement to buy this vehicle only became true when we became owner. There was no maintenance at all except regular service etc. Company given guarantee for 1st 2 lakh kms. nothing will heppen. I enjoyed the same. On many occassions, I have gone to plus 110 speed, "PET KA PANI BHI HILTA NAHI" nor you get fearing feeling as Hundai's is running smoothly even in this high speed. If we compare with Maruti, there are number of service stations available all over India and maintenance is very cheaper than Hundai. Except this by all mean I found Hudai's vehicleas are THE BEST.

great exterior in its segment,does not look like a small car when a person watches it from front.length and width is just adequate to make it a large car in the body of a small one.the curvy body gives a decent look making a young generation machine.

latest interior designing and good quality material is used to give a smoother experience.the finishing of dash board and side gates is just very smooth.although i fel that the rear speakers should be placed on the tray at the rear instraed of rear gates for better sound performance.

Exterior Sexy design... No comparison at all in that segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Uundoubtedly a car with a class.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good performance. But low fuel economy in petrol.
Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality and fantastic handling. Good kerb weight helps driving it more comfortably.
Final Words Undoubtedly an excellent car with all advanced features.
Areas of improvement Only fuel economy in petrol. Nothing to say for diesel variants. A beautiful looking car with all features and good and spacious interiors. Go for it if there is no issue of budget of around 6-7 lacs! Overall a good car and the name of Hyundai is not questionable. The car has a good air conditioner with heater. And an a/c vent in the glove box rather say as a small fridge which can keep drinks very cool and handy. A really very good boot space and a very good dealer with friendly sales person make the deal very buy-able with a space of 5 cup and bottle holders makes no issue of space in the car. go and buy it today!

ExteriorVery fine looking car in its segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious and comfortable seats, good quality MP3 player with usb, ipod provisions, best automatic climate control and with several other features found in other higher-end sedans.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox overall performance is good for 1.2 Kappa engine However, I feel a lag in pulling or slightly under powered, But this can over come with perfect gearshift. The engine performance smooth and steady and I'm getting 17 km/l in highways with AC and 14km/l in city.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride & perfect handling in highways but in some small paths in town its slightly difficult to handle if another car comes because of the large width. But certainly I feel the electrically folding rear mirrors are very comfortable during these occasions.
Final Words I'm using an I20 Asta petrol since Aug. 2009 and I feel very comfortable and happy with this vehicle.
Areas of improvement Engine lag in pulling may consider to improve; if so, this petrol version with this much features cannot be beaten by any other car with this prize.

Exterior Look is very good. I keep on looking at my own car :-) When I look at other cars , I feel proud about my car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is very good. Space is sufficient. Very much comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy is also good. I get around 15 average for petrol. A/C is quite power-full. I always keeps on Auto adjustment and I don't need to worry on making A/C speed less or more. Gears are very smooth.
Final Words Overall I will say it is value for money. If you are looking at style, this is the car you should go for. It is not that fuel efficient compared to Swift and all. But still I will recommend to go for it.
Areas of improvement There should be a remote for cd player. iPod features are not supported in ASTA model at list when I purchased Feb 2010. Sometime while taking turn , you cannoe see anything on right side. I faced this problem.
