i bought a i10 magna in january 2008. the car has done only 2800 kms. while going out of town (to karnal from delhi) on G.T karnal road driving at speed of only 20 km/hr in heavy traffic the car suddenly brock down, i discovered dat there was no connection between gear box and engine.(it means dat d car remained neutral in all gears). as a result d car stopped in d middle of d road. i called d Hyundai OnRoad Service, n d company's guys were there within an hour. the car was towed to d nearest Hyundai workshop. they inspected it n found dat front axle which drives d car has failed due to some technical fault. d front axle and d clutch assembly of d car has been replaced n now d car is running fine. All expences were paid by d company as d car is still under warrenty.
Hyundai's on road emergency service is one of the best.
But still d question arises dat how can such a major fault occur in a brand new vehicle??? wat more can happen after using this car for some more time?? is it safe enough to take this car on long drives?????

For longer journeys, the i10 won't deliver the most comfortable journey, but it'll get you there. It'll happily cruise at 70mph or 80mph – even with a full load of passengers – although it is noisy and will make sure you feel every ripple in the road surface. But then that isn't what this car was designed for.
If you can't do without features such as remote locking and automatic control of the rear windows, these are available in the next model up for just an extra £600, and you can even plump for alloy wheels, heated seats and an electric sun-roof for around £8,000. But if you're just using this as a car to run about town, who needs these anyway?
Most valuable of all is Hyundai's five-year unlimited-mileage guarantee, and a 10 year anti-perforation warranty – which demonstrates how confident the manufacturer is that they've developed a dependable and durable vehicle.

Hi All,
I am a proud owner of i10 magna 1.2 . This is my second car. i got my first car when i was in collge i.e. a red colour Maruti Zen. I loved the car for 4 yrs and i still in love with that buety. now 2 3 months back it was time to get a new car at home, so i was in the for a search of new zenration Zen. So i short i was looking for a new exact alternative.
I searched the market for abt 3 months, and shorlisted maruti Swift & Hyundai i10.
Swift looks great and have a road presence bt not a smart design for the cities heavy trafic. I have seen alot of damaged swift on delhi roads than anyother car(ofcourse i didnt mentioned Tata Indica that top the charts).
Then i saw hyundai i10 which i found to be for reliable, a good esign and suprisingly more specious than swift(in practicle world). Then finnaly i got hold the keys of my White i10 kuppa.
Now its been 4k+ kms with 1k on the higway and remaning on delhi roads. i only got positive to tell u abt the car because i did nt able to find any negatives.
- Good fuel economy 15+(w/o AC city) 19(w/o Highway)

after my all studies about cars finally i like this car. i seen all the car around 5 lacs but the latest engine, interiors and exteriors, fuel economy wins my heart in i10 kappa. dont go for old 1.1 engine. 1.2 kappa engine gives good mileage and power. i have seen all the small car gives almost same average around 11-13 as per traffic conditions and on highways if you run on one continues speed then only you get very good mileage.
i seen santro ( old engine and old look cost 4l) ,wagon R duo ( engine made for petrol but converted to lpg gives high maintanace after 2-3yrs. for dedicated lpg engine you can think.cost 4l), maruti A-star ( less boot and head space cost 4l ), spark (its a good car but safty wise i am not happy. i think you have to scarp it after normal collision cost 3.5), i20 ( just arrived its going to improve suerly, cost 5.5l), tata indica saffire ( show me any 3-4 year old indica and compare it with any old maruti or hyundai car, you will get your answer. colour, ouside metal, interiors, engine noise , maintanace all gets sucks in indica. tata motors are for trucks not for cars, ask any expert or travel agent. cost 4.5l)cont..

I bought this car in Jan 2009. It has been a very satisfying ownership till now. The gearbox is awesome smooth and precise, its a pleasure changing gears. The engine is very refined. the quality of interiors is truely awesome and best among all others in the segment, even better than that of swift.
However I found out one fault when i took the car on the highway. There was a little unwanted vibration in the accelerator peddal at high speeds. I will take the car to the service center and get to know the cause of the problem, but i'm sure there is some issue there (under the bonnet).
The car is awesome in terms of looks, driving feel, space, quality of interiors etc but it is a little expensive when you go for upper models in search for better features. The model I bought, ERA, has no features at all. I was surprised that it doesn't even have a RPM meter. Only AC is not good enough !!!
All in all better than A-Star, WagorR, Santro, Zen Estilo, (Fabia and Swift in terms of value for money but its not exactly compatable with them)

Shifting into the fifth cog, the i10 gets into cruise mode. At 120 kph and with the tacho needle nestling at 4500 rpm, the new compact from Hyundai is pretty keen on consuming the miles between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. The roads are relatively empty and smooth, while the integral 2-DIN stereo, for a factory-fitted unit, sounds pretty good too.
We are out in Rajasthan, evaluating and testing this ambitious model from Hyundai. Ambitious because it is only being produced in India for the rest of the world, and also because it has severe competition from a host of other cars, including Hyundai’s own Santro Xing and Getz Prime... well, it fits between the two, actually.
The car is clearly an upgrade over the Santro – to call it a 21st century version of the Santro in fact wouldn’t be out of place. Which means it’s safer, built even better and makes life comfortable within, for both the driver as well as all the passengers. And it is more mature when it comes to driving dynamics too.
The needle, in between my meandering, has meanwhile steadily risen upward to 140 kph. I have the highway to myself, so I can take a look around the dash of the i10.
The instrument console pays tribute to the Santro’s own mushroom-like unit, but the gauges and lights are quite funky. The rest of the dials and switches are of high quality and I am pleased to note that Hyundai has not raided its existing parts bin for this car.
The seats are also pretty unique – they ape the ones made by Recaro and other sports seat manufacturers, by making the head restraint an integrated part of the seat. And overall, they are good enough to keep you comfortable over long drives — the almost 600 km that we spent driving the car was proof enough.
However, the most important part you’ll notice inside the i10 is the placement of the gear lever. It is almost Japanese car-like, sitting high up in the central console, therefore liberating space between the seats.
Okay, let me put it in another way. If you place a bottle in the holder provided just below the gear lever, your hands might unconsciously shift the bottle instead of the gear lever... Oops. In real life, it’s not as bad as I just made it out to be, and it is in fact a clever little thing that you’d get used to in no time.
Credit should be given to that little 12-valve four-cylinder 1086cc unit for keeping the buzz going on the highway. It sounds just a bit stressed but doesn’t show it even while consistently maintaining high speeds.
Developing 65.7 bhp at 5500 rpm and 10.1 kgm at 2800 revs, the engine is familiar to the hundreds and thousands of people who swear by the Santro Xing. Only, in this application, it is a wee bit more powerful.
This engine is one of the best in the business and combined with that slick five-speed gearbox, is an irresistible combination. The ratios are well-spaced out to extract as much driveability as you can get — in fact, the first three gear ratios are identical to that of the Santro Xing.
If you have driven the older Hyundai in the city, you know what a good deal that is. It’s something I noticed while getting in and out of Jodhpur during our i10 drive. The flow of power is even, there is torque on demand and the shifts are kept to a minimum.
But shifting gears is also something you wouldn’t mind doing in this car, as the short-throw gear lever is a delight.
Hyundai usually get their small cars bang-on. With the Santro, Getz and now the i10, the critical elements that make a small car buyer happy — a peppy engine, a slick gearbox and an accurate steering — are in place.
In this car especially, the motor-driven power steering is a new feature. It runs independent of engine power, which aids in fuel efficiency. That apart, it is easy enough on your hands on congested city streets while it stays quite tight on higher speeds on the highway.
The i10’s driving dynamics are also a level above that of the Santro. Featuring McPherson struts at the front and a coupled torsion beam axle at the rear, the i10’s capability when it comes to handling is best felt while taking on sweeping curves at speeds well above 100 kph. It is perfectly at ease over the long sweepers you encounter on NH114 between the two towns and sticks to its intended trajectory without giving you a hint of the stress it’s taking.
Combined with tubeless tyres, the roadholding is better than expected from a car of this dimensions. The ride quality on offer again is better than that of its lower priced sibling, though it was a bit on the bouncy side, especially at lower speeds. I would have preferred if the tyres had a wider footprint and a lower aspect ratio, as Hyundai has opted only for 155/80 R 13s to aid in fuel consumption.
Ah, that confounded thing, again. Which I am sorry I can’t tell you about because we went hell for leather with the i10 and it wouldn’t reflect on the true figure the car delivers.
Irrespective of that, the i10 has a lot of things going for it. It is good-looking, well-built, well-engineered with quality bits, has a proven drivetrain and is about as spacious as cars in this category can get.
Besides it comes with a host of variants that suit differ

i10 is really cool and comfortable car - it has all features of luxury car - infact while driving I feel there is no difference with my other car Honda City.
Interiors are light brown with leather like seats. Engine running noise is barely audible inside.
Comfortable ride even on bumpy roads or at high speed drives.
Initially / Before buying felt it was expansive than competion but during the test drive itself i10 was clear winner.
Now I am happy that i10 car was bought for the family. Rather I prefer i10 than the other Honda City ZX GXI n family. It is convenient for city drive as well for long drives.

I have this car for more than a year. around 9000km driver. Dont get surprised by less driving distance, rather it has been a quality drive whenever I drive this car. around 65-70% of it on highways.
City drive has always been pleasent. When you drive in delhi you need patience, a comfortable seat, good AC and smooth drive on traffic roads. Believe me this car has all this. It can give you a calculative mileage of 13 with AC and 14+ without AC on city roads like South Delhi (SouthEx and Nehru Place).
I love to drive this car on highways. I have been to North UP highways and South Haryana (NH8 Delhi - Jaipur) quite often. It has always been excitement and learning while driving this car. When you drive towards Saharanpur (North-West UP), you need a car which has good pickup (with AC), breaking and compact to pass through safely on buzy highways and I am lucky I have such a car. While you drive on NH8, you have different challanges on it. You need a car which has good breaking and speed. I have driven this car to 130km/hr. I can say not to the fullest of this car but being safer on highways this can be reached. A wonderful car to drive and own.
Its spacious design, compact style and the sporty pickup it has on city/highway roadsIt lacks a bit of smoothness at higher speeds (starts shaking). Little less leg space for back seatsइक्सटीरियर/स्टाइल्स

Excellent vehicle. Nice interior and Air conditioning. Pickup is good and at zippy. Easy steering. Only you should not hit anyone either vehicle ot tree / pole etc as it is designed to crumble for safety of the occupant. Engine will dislodge from the support to save the passenger. I am getting 18 in city drive , of course our city is a small one with excellent road. you can drive safely and steadily at 50 kn/hr. very few traffic jam so that you will be forced to crawl at 20 kn in 2nd or 3rd gear. I have read that people complaint about gear shifting problem, this is cable controlled therefore it should be adjusted from time to time during servicing. My only apprehension is what will happen if the battery konks. The steering will not work and the vehicle will be stalled. Hyundai should do something about it to take care of indian rats which loves to eat car cables and shorts the battery with body resulting in flat battery. My second request is the accessories like wheel cover [full], fibre side door guard, and if possible a front steel guard to protect the engine should be provided at extra cost and should be available on demand with dealer. I am very much satisfied with the car, its handling, comfort and able to carry my family [ 5 person comfortably]. I do not understand why the vehicle emits a lot of noise when AC is switched on with full speed of fan? is it normal with all cars of i10 . Nevertheless a better car than Xing
