Brakes become too hard at gear no #2/3 in the speed range of 10-20 Km/h. It becomes impossible to apply brake at those situations and ultimately You will end up hitting the next person/vehicle.
This is a serious issue asoociated with this model. I approached the HYUNDAI service centre also complaining about this problem but they refused to accept the failure of the model . Rather, they suggested me to go for a general checkup of the vehicle I20 ASTA 1.2 and after the checkup , they told that everything is OK in the vehicle but the problem is still persistent in my vehicle.
I would request all the users of I20 elite who are facing this issue , to send a mail or call Hyundai customer care to let them aware about the problems so that they would be able to recall the vehicle and rectify this.
According to the terms and conditions of the Auto companies, if a customer doesn't report about the problems associated, they would not recall the vehicle.

Final Words: Good car, Good comfort,but risky braking system.
Areas of improvement : Brake system should be improved, Always there is apprehension of accident during low speed as the brake padals become hard and cannot press it unless and untill clutch pedal is pressed. I feel the problem arised during low rpm of vehicle at low speed. The breaking padal is somewhat useually hard as compeared to other cars. The brakes are less effective and has to apply much pressure to apply during emergency. Inspected at service center but of no use that such problem of braking is with all hyndai cars having EBS breaking system. Why the company is not taking care of such reviews, they must come forward to solve such problem or advice certain recommendations for the same problem.

Friends,
This is my first car and first attempt at a review and is based on the 850+km of city driving. I shall leave out all the knowns and speak only about my observations that I have not seen elsewhere and would be glad at least one CARWALE reviewer finds my review a game changer. Please don't look into the review as a negative feedback for I'm a happy owner of the Elite i20 - its just that would like to cover only the not so frequent observations. Hope you enjoy my writeup.
Exterior
Absolutely no complaints - this is one of the best looking cars in the market today IMHO.
(i) Wiping the tail lamp with a wet cloth renders the water to enter the tail lamp housing and can be drained only by opening the hatch. I wonder how Hyundai committed such a grave blunder.
(ii) The very big antenna is really pissing off when you want to move the vehicle into a space with a low roofing or even as simple as covering the vehicle with the body cover. For the premium, I wonder why at least the top end variant does not sport the shark fin antennas.
(iii) The gap between the glass and the metal at the hatch and the insides of rear doors can really get dirty and get stuffed with dirt. A neat rubber cladding would have done a great deal I suppose.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
(i) The very first thing I wanted to write here was, my Elite i20 Asta VTVT has only one power outlet. I noticed this only during delivery (third week of May 2015) and when enquired, after a long discussion the dealer advised me that the 2015 models are equipped only with one power outlet instead of the original two. While I got this validated the genuiness of this statement through one of my friends who used to work for HMIL, I would appreciate if fellow carwale readers can confirm on this.
(ii) Absolutely no compaints - just gives everything that I expected from spacious cabin to accommodate plus sized adults & elderly, to auto climate control, but for the following:
- Sorely misses the speed sensing door auto-lock feature (my friend says this feature can easily be enabled by simple programming at the service center. Any advise on this would be welcome).
- Distance to empty and average fuel consumption meters missing
- I initially wondered about all the fuss about the small display of the music system but after couple of days (hours to be precise) behind the car, can clearly see it becoming a nuisance - not complaining for the lack of touch screen/ GPS (though this is on its way to the Indian market starting Jul'15) but selecting a particular song from a collection of 3000+ songs on my 64GB USB is extremely cumbersome and next to impossible - turning the small knob countless times only to skip through few files. Option to review the root folder and the folder structure would have been a sane option.
- For the premium HMIL charges for this car, at least the top end should have donned the leather upholstery.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine Performance: While many complain the petrol bird lacks power - I never for once felt so when the right gear ratios are maintained. The engine is soo refined that you would hardly feel the car idling even with the AC and Audio turned off
Fuel Economy: The first full tak gave me about 10km/l on city with full a/c but that was majorly due to intentionally high clutch usage. I'm now running on my second refill and could clearly see a marked improvement eyeing somewhere around 12-13km/l - fingers crossed!
Gearbox: While generally good, I frequently encoutner issues with engaging the first and reverse gears. Many a times even with the best of efforts, I find the first gear does not engage properly and eventually falls back to neutral. This happened even with my friend when he was driving my car. Engaging the 1 & 2 gears is a bit rough but hope it would settle in with more km's and post the first service - fingers crossed once again!!
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is good and the steering feedback is generally good but can sense frequent uneven responses while on the run. The brakes too feel buttery at times especially while braking at more than 40-50kmph (while at higher gears) causing butterflies in the belly. I would certainly expect Hyundai to provide better braking for a premium vehicle of this class.
Final Words
A good all round car with good performance, excellent spacing, superior looks. A hatch with a premium sedan class from inside is sure to provide many happy miles.

Exterior I can say one word for the looks SUPERB. I was waiting for this car from last 2 years and researching when it gona launch, as i know that the name should be i20 2015. After some spied images news that the car will launch in august i got very much releafe. After the launch i bought the car and i m very happy to have it. I bought the Midas Gold Color which is very nice. The new headlamps give some premium looks also the tail lamps that is so so much marvelous. Side mirrors with indicators on them are nicely placed.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This gives me luxury feel after sitting in the car. Interior looks very nice with the beige and black with the seats.
Features : As i bought the top end model Asta so i got Automatic Climate Control with rear AC vents. Electronic OVRM, ABS with EBD, with cool glove box, Air bags both driver and passanger. Hight can be adjusted for driver side.
Space : As per the spacing it has nice space for back seats with good leg room. This car have many space pockets.
Comfort : I had ran my car about 475km long in a day that gives me some good feedback for this car. Driving the car i haven't feel tiredness but only the problem is that on road bumps the ride is hard plus the tyre running sound.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is nice with nice pickup. No sound as i bought a petrol one. For the fuel thing I got 18.57 km/l Mileage on highway, but in city m not able to check. With gear thing it works fine smooth also the gear indecator helps you very well to when you have to change the gear.
Ride Quality & Handling I will give 4.8 score for ride quality and handling out of 5. Handling is smooth with the very light weight steering wheel.
Final Words Overall I can say the car is very good, cool, with nice space as a premium hatchback.

Very good exterior . Liked that in first look itself. Feels much more premium then what is is actually. On that count hyundai has done a really good job.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Very good interior space. It can accomodate 5 adults easily. Seats are comfortable. Steering adjustment fantastic. Feautre wise very rich. Can't expect anything more in a below 10 lakh car. Special mention of front defogger. Even in very heavy rains it managed to keep inside free from fog.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine performance is one area where this car lacks. Lack of power is clearly felt when you drive on highways. Even on city roads when there is incline and ac is on car struggles to pick up.That punch is missing. Probably hyundai should have given 1.4 engine with this big car. That's a clear area of disappointment. Fuel economy is not that great but acceptable. Gearbox is smooth and no complains on that.
Ride Quality & Handling
All in all good handling. On city roads this car handles very well. Highways handling O.K.
Final Words
Overall very good car if someone willing to compromise power for comfort and style. Hyundai dealership and after sales service network at least in bangalore is very good. Worth buying and I am happy to buy it.
Areas of improvement
Petrol engine clearly lacks punch. Hyundai should either increase this to 1.4 or tweak technology to increase punch of petrol engine. Also they should launch petrol automated version.

This has the feel of a real luxury hatch and is surely catchy with looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The leg/head room for especially tall passenger(above 6ft) is good, especially for the driver himself. The adjustment options available in terms of driver's seat height adjustment and steering tilt & telescopic adjustments will help you find a comfortable driving position. The interiors are excellent and convenient.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine performance is also eceptional. The initial pick up when the A/C is on is a little slugish, on the other end you can cruise in the highways. fuel economy is acceptable. Gear shifts are very smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling
excellent suspension setup. Hnadling with ABS especially in hilly regions is very helpful.
Final Words
Excellent catch. The topend spec variant comes with fully equipped safety features and is packed with other features.
Areas of improvement
There should have been 6 airbags which is missing in the new Gen i20 compared to the compared old i20 which had 6 airbags.
Luxury from the inside and a big car feel from the outside & insideservice is bad

Going for Elite i20 inspite of falling in love with polo for a long time was a tough descision but now I feel it was worth.
The polo had 3 cylinder disadvantage and also offered a lot less features than elite

Removing Rain sensing vipers from the latest edition was a bad idea, also the daytime running lights.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is very superb . As I bought Asta version , I have fully loaded fetured car. All features are working fine. It has very good space. even 6 feet guy can seat easily in front and behind.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I bought this car 1 month car ago and have travelled around 200 kms and around 14-15 kms average is getting which is normal in mumbai city where traffic is headache . Gearbox is also very smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Steerwheel is even smoother and can handle in one hand easily. Features like rear AC, camera, sensor all working very superbly.
Final Words Fianl would be very awesome car with awesome features. There are many features like showing which gear to go, make steerwheel staright when you start the car. All featues are working fine. THIS CAR IS VALUE FOR MONEY.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) More spacious than swift and polo, good music system and rear ac vents are fine and comfortable for four persons.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Engine performance is nice with nice pickup. No sound as i bought a petrol one. For the fuel thing I got 18.57 km/l Mileage on highway, in city 12/13 km/l. With gear thing it works fine smooth also the gear indecator helps you very well to when you have to change the gear.
