honda jazz launch on 10th june 2009 has created a buzz(kaboom) in auto industry launching its new mpv in the market .honda badge has been renowned for so many years with providing new car launches every year and an excellent customer satisfaction over the years,but jazz coming to india i think im in doubt if it can make it .the pricing startegy,it is totally wrong for an hatch back..we have seen this with czeck make the skoda fabia costing aroung 8+ lacs for car with full bells and whistles..keeping in view the indian customers jazz is definately gonna sell in huge no.s. for few months but later the sales are gonna be sluggish ..i test drove the jazz yesterday the first think came into my mind was that the car was built fabulously ,how can a hatch be so spacious ..i mean u can load huge amount luggage while you are travelling..the moment you step and see the interiors you start sayin wow ,they are so plush..but when u start the car u gonna comment ahhh engine could have been better ,but one thing honda deservers hats off they churned out 90 ps of raw power from just a 1198 cc engine ,thats real applause but i feel the car lacks the power and low end grunt ..the engine torque is absent at low ends you really have to rip the engine and make it go above for 3500 rpm plus to get it going ..but thats ok after all its hatch back to be driven within cities..on highways you will feel the car is boring due to lack of adrenaline push ...you really have to step on the gas hard..in terms of economy ahhh again applause should be loud man its reurning 14.5 kmpl showning on the display (trip computer) ahh despite me revving it up...the thing thats goes wrong for honda is pricing when competing with hyundai s i20 ..man i20 fully featured 2 airbags ,alloys,and so many features is just available 6.4lacs on road and honda goes upto 7.8lacs on road ahhm thats pricey..if you consider vfm i would say the i20 is a lot better.u get alloys plus the engine is kappa with a bit of low end grunt presence...i hope that honda sells better then skoda fabia which was technical as well full packed failure for skoda ..so fingers crossed ..can honda turn the tables. lets see...

Exterior Great exteriers, looks like a sedan, great curves. I liked the design on all sides, very destinctive from all other hatchbacks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Music system, controls, steering all are excellent, space is unmatchable . Seat confort is very good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very smooth, hardly notice the sound sometimes, though it is little lazy in the low speed & but in highway it is master. Even though gear box is very very smooth. Sometimes I felt little cranky. May be because I am very new to car driving. Otherwise awesome driving experience.
I am a first time driver, in city it ranged from 10 - 13 km/l, in highway it gave upto 18 /l.
Ride Quality & Handling simply hooooooooooooooooondaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Final Words In my first trip itself I drove on NH, state highways, village roads, muddy roads, hundreds of humps, hundreds of patholes. Always great driving experience, great wheelbase. Good ground clearance (travelled with 8 passengers - drove over 10-15 humps of alls size without any issues ), overall truly great machine with style & space.
Areas of improvement Great box is great but gear stick should have been little better, only one master key comes with car (can be given 2). Modern style keys should be given ( foldeble like fiat,VW).

largest interior space in any hatch back like many c segment car (sedan) with stereo system ,10 cup holder very stylish
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
engine is very silent and powerful but when car move fast sound could be heard but with speed sound system (music systems sound increases speed) very less engine sound could be heard .Gare box is very sleek and car sometime run out of grip due to fule efficient tyre
Ride Quality & Handling
Excellent ride quality My hero honda pleasure make more noise than that of jazz
Final Words
Price of car is much more compared to other car in hatchback segment but the engine imported from japan which is e 10 compatible ( 10 % ethanol in petrol) which make this car value for money. I was planning to buy i 20 and it was nearly final but when in a mela stall of honda i saw jazz it made me change my mind .Those people who are buying a premium hatch please visit the honda showroom

Exterior Sleek and bold but tyres and headlamp look like City 2008 a bit.Fog lamps are not available,skinny tyres and lacks turn indicators in ORVM. But Maruti 's Swift is more sober and basic. It is only than it gets alloys and fog lamps at ZXi variant.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors look great,but Jazz X and Toyota Etios have better interiors and i10 Face-lift better dark grey or light black dash. But lots of features are lacked and lacklustre dash,reflects on windshield like older i10.Space,is its strong point and the boot,366-boot can put a Hyundai Verna saloon car to shame. Comfort is best in class.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is good but has lacklustre torque,has 11.2 kgm of torque.It is lesser than smaller i10 Kappa2 VTVT with a lesser 79 BHP but more torque of 11.4 kgm. Fuel economy is poor but better than Swift. Gear is good but i10 and Fabia have slicker gearshifts.
Ride Quality & Handling Good ride but really harsh at high speeds,handling is not bad.
Final Words NEVER BUY A HONDA JAZZ,BUY A SKODA FABIA FACE-LIFT INSTEAD OR SPARK/BEAT OR i10 KAPPA2 VTVT. BUT FOR i-V-TEC TECH,YOU BUY ONE FOR LOOKS AND INTERIORS AND THE i-VTEC TECHONOLOGY.
Areas of improvement FE,PRICE AND FEATURES.TORQUE OF ENGINE CAN BE 15 KGM,INSTEAD OF THE PUNY 11.2 KGM.

1. Seats could have curved surface to support lower back to make more comfortable on long drives
2. Fabric is used for some part of door interiors which is difficult to maintain, could have used durable material in different color
3. Lot of flexibility due to multiple modes of seating arrangement possible
4. Many small but useful features like cup holder, wallet/mobile socket, confidential docs/money compartment etc
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
1. Excellent performance , good fuel economy
2. Sometimes 1st gear is hard
Ride Quality & Handling
1. Very good power, engines picks up at higher speeds
2. Superb bearings ! u don't need to accelerate on little slopy roads

It's the best car in the hatch back category, gives sadan features without consuming that extra space in parking lot

3. Replace fabric interior with more durable fibre material

Exterior Looks good but not very sporty to look at. Thick steel mush takes the sportiness of that car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The sense of space if excellent both in front and rear seats. the tilt rear seats is a great convenience feature for long distance. the Magic seats make the car muliti functional. The most featur rich car in its segment.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The quietest and smoothesr engine possible, great response, soft clutche and smooth gear shift. Easiest ans smoothest car to drive in its ckass.
Ride Quality & Handling Great, Ride Quality and Handling feels like a big car. 15 inch tyres makes a huge difference.
Final Words I and my wife test drove all hatchbacks t replace her 7 year old swift and the only car we felt better than the swift is Jazz. if you want to have and enjoy the pride and performance of a luxury Hatchbak, Jazz is the only option.
Areas of improvement Fear of a design change in line with Ford Fiesta, Brio and i20, cos my wife just bought the car.
