Good things : I am using this car since sep-2008 till date. I can suggest this car for those who respect money as it is true value for money. Good power will help smooth driving in heavy traffic with air condition. The location of speedometer is remarkable as always the driver can see the speed. Good leather interiors and other accessories will like everyone. In highways, it will give tremendous average if drives at 90-110 Kms speed.
Bad things: Low ground clearance is the biggest problem to drive in a off road or uneven road. HONDA has to give more concentration of front mounting / suspension system as I have changed it in 25K kms. I got it changed in free of cost but I scare that as I have finished the warranty. Fuel economy is comparatively less because of high initial power.
Overall, from my experience, this car is true value for money, Go ahead.

Exterior Excellent looks. The new civic looks even cooler then before. Looks more wider. The ground clearance is best in its segment.new color urbanium titanium is good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its a super smooth car with excellent space and comfort.though i feel its little low on fearutes.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox No one can beat honda in engine performance. Its very quiet and smooth. You wont even come to know that the engine is running at times. Its so quiet.it has excellent gear ratio and smooth shifting of gears.
Ride Quality & Handling Its the best.super smooth drive and excellent handling.
Final Words I love it. Every time I drive it, I still want to drive it more. Just cant get enough of it.
Areas of improvement Please add some cool fearures in the civic,make it more automatic. A large display with touch controls would be super cool. Push button start,electronic adjusted seats with memory settings,steering volume controls.

Ever since the Honda Civic was launched it had been my dream car. After ogling at it for over a long time I finally bought one last year. Some of the great things about the car are:
1. decent ground clearance (much better than my previous car, corsa sail). though I think the stiffer suspension also contributes to this.
2. the stiff suspension makes for a great drive. cornering at speeds of 40-60 is a breeze
3. interiors rock!
4. everyone on the road gives a second look to the car :)
5. good pickup
6. excellent brakes
7. finally a car which has both auto up and auto down driver side power window
Some things I didn't like about the car:
1. the stiff suspension can spoil the ride on rough roads
2. the plastic quality is not what I would expect in a car of this segment. in fact I might go to the extent of saying that the plastics in my corsa were better.
3. noise insulation is poor to say the least ... engine noise is like the second music system in the car the volume of which cannot be turned down. further, on a rough road there's lots of uncomfortable noises which make way into the cabin
4. slightly better mileage would have been great or perhaps a diesel engine :)

Civic is Extremely costly. Honda network is also not very wide. Spares are very costly.
FIAT LINEA at 40% lesser price more equally comfortable. Offers more features, although Linea 1.4 90Bhp is slightly under power than Civic but 90 Bhp is no less and given wide Tata network and very honest pricing. Excellent styling, it offers much more than Civic

Mine is a black - Honda Civic 1.8s - i took delivery on Feb 2nd 2008. The Car has head turning looks both at night and day, particularly in black.
The Car's pluses are
1. Interiors
2. Performance
3. Drivetrain (1500 to 3000 rpm) - u can jus keep goin in 3rd even in the city.
4. Handling is Amazing - U will feel the car is in in railings !!
5. Ride -- is neutral - not bad and not too good too. (No problem as long as 4 adults - when 5, think twice before taking it on bad roads)
Minuses
1. No Xenon lamps - whereas octavia comes with it (being in the same league); Since this car has twin headlamps for low and high beam -- it will set u back by 38,000 for fixing it off-market / in addition ur warranty will be devoid :(
2. Ground Clearance -- the suspension is too soft - so till 4 onboard u jus glide on the road -- when there is 5 - body knocks often when going over pits and sends a thunder into the cabin.
Mileage: 11 km in Highway / 9 in the Hill (the car can comfortably cruise in 3rd gear with 5 people and A/c on) / 8 to 9 in the city.
I drive really hard -- so u won't get any figures less than quoted above -- if u do get -- it's time u catch up with ur dealer.
Overall: An Amazing car with looks & performance to add, that won't fade soon / not for mileage calculators.
In short: For people who say "I'm 40 years young " & not for people who say "I'm 40 years old". Later - please check out ur nearest toyota showroom!! Octavia --- hmm -- but the dealer in my city is pathetic -- so no comments!

YOU SHOULD BUY THIS CAR WHEN COMPARING OTHERS IN THE SAME BUDGET. I WOULD SURLY ASK HONDA TO PROVIDE TWO REMOTE KEYS AND SMALL THINGS LIKE MUSIC SYSTEM REMOTE, LIGHTER, REAR AC VENT ARE EXPECTED.IF CAN SPEND MORE MONEY GO FOR OTHER CAR OR HAVE LESS BUDGET AGAIN NO, AS I WOULD ADVICE TO BUY A CITY OR SX4. FOR THE SAME BUGDET IT IS THE BEST BUY.
Areas of improvement
CLUTCH AND STEARING SHOULD BE SMOOTH. TO ADD A WOOFER IN THE REAR SPEAKER TRAY WE HAVE TO CUT THE BODY. THERE MUST BE SOME SPACE IN THE TRAY SO THAT TO ADD ON SOME MUSIC STUFF, IT CAN BE DONE WITH EASY CHANGES.

i have just got my CIVIC hybrid and all i can say its amazing - folks its not a car that you can burn rubber with , and frankly if you need a car to burn rubber with then buy an audi/bmw or something to that extent. the normal civic is phenomenol but it does struggle with the mileage.
the car functioning is SEAMLESS and brilliant, its been only 48 hrs that i have the car but have driven inaround delhi, the car is returning 15.5kms /l average...... compare it to the 9.5-10kms that a normal civic would do.
the only only down side is that the spare tyre is a doughnut and not a full tyre!, (why would Honda not give this as a full tyre specially when the main tyers are Goodyear NCT ( Made in India), also i liked the double barallel exhausts on the rear , my hybrid has only one!!!!:-)
any one looking at buying a civic in the next 2-3 months, my take is defer the decesion , watch this space, am sure Honda will react to the fact that the Hybrid will FLY off the shelves at 13-14.5lacs bracket.....
i am and will always be a what we call a "petrol head" with a manual gearbox , Honda has done a good JOB!

I drove a cousin's Civic the other day. What a beauty! From the outside, the car was a real looker. Low slung, with those beautiful 5 spoke alloys and jet-afterburner like taillamps. Even the mirror stalks (mounted directly on the doors rather than plastic mountings) looked different.
Inside, it was even more impressive. The forward sloping dash design managed to liberate a lot of space inside. The console and the digital speedo were mind blowing, and so aircraft like! Only the seating seemed a little low. Perfect for enthusiastic drivers like me, but may be tiresome for elderly people on long rides.
On the move, the car simply takes your breath away. The pickup is strong and urgent, and the manual gearshift clicks into place with strong, short throws. In no time I was slinging the car around corners. Even though this car had done 26K kms, there were no rattles inside the cabin. In all, it was a hushed, fast drive that I thoroughly enjoyed.
According to the owner, spare parts (and general servicing costs) of the car are pretty expensive. His car also sees frequent highway use, and its performed reliably throughout.
If I had the money, I would definitely switch to the Civic (V version - I own a Verna CRDI SX ABS currently). But I dont, so heres one for the wishlist!
