      Overall the car is great in terms of luxury, interior design, leg room, external looks, a/c, power steering, music... Especially the driving comfort for long distance is excellent. The Vehicle has two minus points. 1) The car is a bit over priced. 2) The mileage. We get 12 kms for city driving and 14 for highways. Overall we rate this car a great master piece. Thanks to Honda for bringing a car that suits indian roads...Gxi model was bought by my dad 2 months back. Very good interiors, Rich lookPickup is poor. While overtaking must be very careful.       My Cousin got this new car since in a joint family i drive it too, i find the avg per liter is only 11kms in city and 14 on Highway.The gears are not as smooth as expected. The service n spares are expensive too. Good interiors but this car is highly overrated . Honda did not live up to its expectations.Has a new peepy look but OVERRATEDThe average is only 11kms, Honda service dealers are BAD.Service Spares also expensive

      The car is excellent in interiors.......But the exteriors ie. the rear lights can be changed a bit. but the headlamps are good, dash board is good and the car is very porsh in its style

         first I checked fiesta of ford then optra of chevrolet and then the city zx model....Of all i liked optra and city.Comparing to city optra is excellent in every feature like sunshade,shoe tray,beer cooler etc. in optra the fuel economy is also good....But in city the fuel economy is very low also   

                SO ANYONE WHO CHECKS THIS REVIEW IT WILL BE USELFUL FOR THEM I HOPE........!

      Hi Friendz,

      After lot of R&D, Test drives and recommendations, I bought a City VTECH. Though yet not ready to give a full length review, I can mention some findings as results of my search.

      My important decision points were 1) Comfort, 2) Fuel economy and 3) Looks. My options were Corolla & Magnum on higher sides and Verna, SX4 and Fiesta on the other end. I do have experience with Fords, Toyotas and Hondas outside India but wanted to test each of them before a decision.

      Corolla gave a very classy and comfort feel when I sat in the rear seat. It also left me with a feeling that I’m inside a stronger shell (though not as much as Skoda). The discounts offered by Toyota made the price difference between City and Corolla (HE) almost negligible (a lac and a half) but then I need to go for at least H2 to get the features that we may need in a luxury car. Magnum was had good features but was the worst compared to all the cars tested for its engine quality. If you place your foot on the accelerator and feel the clutch you get the vibration of the engine through your body which the salesman blamed on the test vehicle alone. Overall it the feeling was that I was in a boat with a roaring engine.

      While SX4 and Verna are comparable to City in most aspects, they fail badly in interior and looks respectively. But these models offered economy and better value for money. SX4 comes with the safety features that I wished and with a drive comfort which is comparable but the two important factors that I disliked were its poor rear visibility and the Big A**. Verna on the other hand made a closer comparison for City with its diesel and petrol versions on power and performance. Both SX4 and Verna had the dashing looks from front and sides but I was not comfortable with their rear shapes.

      Fiesta was another one which was another option ‘cause of it cost vs performance. I was better of with its looks compared to SX4 and Verna. My friends who bought the same said high about it too, but then it was not giving an above average car from overall feel. Above that, my experience with ford is that 3 years drive it cool and then throw it off. No resale value and lot of repair works.

      As I mentioned above on the decisions points, Honda was one which was above average in all the 3 factors (Comfort, Economy and Looks). When high end models offered better comfort, Security and quality, their economy and maintenance costs were not digestible as they just fall in to the luxury segment. But I too agree that City is not an actual value for money but may be worth a lac less and on performance side, my UNO diesel gives me a much better power though I’m spending more than a luxury car to maintain this Fiat. The bumpy feeling of City at regular roads was against City. But then, when I checked its performance history, parts quality and the resale value ended up making that compromise and zeroed in on this one. Now one thing that I’m yet to experience is the after sale service which is told to be poor with Honda dealers across the country.

      So far, I’ve been able to experience its worth in terms of the interior quality, steering and comfort but fuel economy is one yet to be proved. I feel better of with its looks than any other as well.

      Could I afford anything better, a Skoda or Civic is what I dream and have parked them for my next buy.

      I have had this car for a year now. Extremely happy with its performance. Gives me between 12 & 14 kms /ltr in the city with AC on (Switch off engine for waits more than a minute). Extremely comfortable interiors, silent and smooth running-takes the tiredness out of long drives. Havent changed any parts so cannot comment on the cost of spares yet, servicing and oil costs not very different from other models.
      Ground clearance is less-need to be very careful while going over speed breakers/road humps. Avoid tight situations while overtaking on the highway as the car does not respond fast enough.
      Service by Whitefield Honda is good. Overall a good car to own.
      Good leg room, easy city driving, very silent cabin,Low road clearance, response while overtaking not good

      The care is good style wise and space wise.Cost is higher as compared to its rivals. Rivals are little cramped to it but citys ride quality is too bad at low speeds due  to its hard suspension.Even small bumps could be felt. Even other low segment cars like corsa, Alto etc are better as compared to Honda city in this matter.Honda must address this issue with the customers who bought the 10 th Anniversary models. I have just bought it but now I dont recomment my friends to go for city.Probably this is due to need to   compensate  for its small ground clearance  , they have made the suspension too hard. In other words the car rests on the suspension and does not float on it.Space, city drive, style is goodVery bad suspension, too hard- even small bumps / irregularities of roads could be felt , which isy

      I got this this month and driven it 1500 kms till now. the car i fell is overprices just because of Honda badge. The spares can be sky high costly as fog lamps cost whooping 19000. .........the gear shift is smoooooooooth and engine refined upto 100km/hr. after 110 the car becomes uncomfortable to drive unless the roads are super smooth. the average i got on my first drive back home was astonishing 16+ with ac but fell to 10 in city. hopefully it should increaseafter 2nd service. interiors are well made and feel built to last. i got 4 yrs warrenty 2+2 for 7500 rupees. the worth mentioning is the tyres. my car came with goodyear gps2 radials and they make a lot of noise on rough surfaces and makes the drive uncomfortable. anyone planning to buy this car should make sure u get bridgestone radials and not good year. im talking to company to get them changed. one more thing that should be mentioned that the service intervals is just 5000kms and 3 month which i feel is very less as most other petrol cars have 10000kms/6 month.

      if you look for features aveo 1.6 lt with option wins hands down with air bag and ABS etc etc. even verna xxi is also feature rich. Honda is just for image and prestige. and u should get a good resale when u sell it just pray nothing goes bad after warrenty which can set u back a big amount.

      Overall a competent car and recommended for people who want image assiciated with car. nothing faulty in a big way and it sould keep u happy with economy of fuel.

      Despite numerous rivals, the city zx has always been the numero uno     in its class, the city as its name suggests is a great city car due to its easy to use short throw gearbox, comfy interiors,light steering which is a boon in traffic.The idsi engine gives 77bhp which seems small in paper but it does not feel underpowerd , but the main reason for its success is its mileage which at 12 in city is brilliant considering that its a petrol motor.Buying a city zx also means very good resale value due to its success in the market , also the HONDA service is excellent. Of course its not all roses , the frugal engine means its nowhere as fun as the fiesta 1.6 , the light steering is a problem in highways.The v-tec though powerful is overpriced at 9 lakhs.With the sx4 competion has become cut throat ,but for those who want a comfy , frugal midsizer its the one to buy.

      I recently switched from Accent to ZX vtec. I test drove suzuki SX, Optra magnum diesel, Chevy aveo, Toyota Innova, Verna diesel, Toyota corolla, logan and ford fiesta. The ford fiesta was the best to drive but most of my friends were lamenting on frequent repair costs and lack of resale value. The optra magnum was far superior to drive but then Chevy's reputation in after sales is still suspect. Innova was too good but its size put me off.Maruthi SX looked attractive but the dealer said there was a waiting period of 4 months. Verna diesel is a good car but the boot is small when you travel with four persons and some luggage. Finally i settled for ZX vtec and i am very happy with it. Now i learn the ABS and airbags are available and that will make this car really the best one. Price is high but one should feel happy thanks to its quality.fuel economy, style, comfort and good feel of a modern carprice, lack of safety features, too much of glass allowing more heating

      Just bought honda city GXI last week. Comfort is great, interior design is good and so is the external. Felt expensive when compared with other cars of same catergory such as FOrd Fiesta. Customer service (at Whitefield honda, Bangalore) was excellent.great comfort, rich interior, nice design.bit expensive compared with other cars of the same category
