The new Honda City is a real winner in more ways than one. It is endowed with tremendous power combined with fuel economy and low on emissions. In the same engine displacement capacity as the older City model, performance is far superior making the car good for local city drive or a zip on the highway. Hopefully the suspension is designed to give a smoother ride and long life on the deteriorating Indian road conditions. The new styling of the City is the most rewarding feature for which the designers are to be congratulated. However for Indian climate the wind screens should have been partially tinted to prevent direct ingress of bright sunlight. Where the new City misses its mark is the unwarranted economising on the interiors. There is just too much plastic, whereas fabric and part wood finish gives richness to the looks of the car. The car handles are also an eye-sore. Lack of many minor features like fog lamps, light inside the bonnet, built in antenna, and such others are unexplained. How on earth does one justify lack of mud guards in a country like India. The new Honda City, a tiger in the new models, misses its mark, in my opinion.
Good on pick-up and power, fuel economy , style, road grip.Poor interiors! Low on cabin storage! No mud guards!
