Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is okay, Mileage is okay BUT.
Clutch is the worst I have ever experienced. Very very poor. I have just changed clutch for the third time in 3 years. I was one of the early buyers of this car (April 2013)... The tuning is such that because of high self acceleration in first and second gear, you have to keep the clutch and brakes pressed in traffic congested areas.
Brakes and disc have gone twice already!! The clutch takes you back by a whopping 18000 and it has to be replaced every year!!
One service cost you 8000 minimum without any frills. Just spent 40000 again on clutch, suspension and service.
Ride Quality & Handling The cars build quality is VERY VERY BAD. You will feel the parts automatically falling from below while driving. Shockers dont exist!! Dash board is making a vibrating noise since the car was bought.
Final Words Dont buy this car if you dont want to bleed tears. Request HONDA to compensate in any way possible.

I am a proud owner of Honda Amaze 1.2 SX MT (I-VTEC) Reg. No HP 63 XXXX, I purchase this car in May 2016 from Hallmark Honda Ahmedabad. I have got my car properly serviced on regular intervals. Till the time total running of my car is only 9553 KM.
Truly speaking the reason behind purchasing a Honda car was purely with engine performance and quality of service. I was made to believe that they are always present in my service for any issues which I could face with regard to the vehicle under their warranty scheme.
On 10th March 17 mid night I was enjoying my ride at 80-90 Km/Hrs on Mumbai –Pune Express highway, suddenly I noticed that my car is not accelerating further even after giving acceleration.
I have parked my car on service road near to Talegaon toll plaza which is 24 KM away from my place of residence. to understand the reason behind this behavior but could not able to understand anything as there were no alarm on my dash board , after a while I again restarted my car and tried to drive again , unfortunately the car didn’t pick up.
Understanding that there are some problem in my car I asked help from my insurance provided for towing of vehicle to Honda Service center and drop my family to my home in Pune. Though the entire process has taken 4 hours and I have to stand on side of highways along with 4 females and 1 two month old baby. This was really a nightmare and scaring for me.
Later in the day I got a call from Deccan Honda (Pimpri) branch than my car’s clutch plate, pressure plate , fly wheel assembly has been damaged and need to be replaced and the total cost of repair is estimated to Rs. 25000/- and this will not cover under warranty as this is a wear and tear part.
I am not sure on how should I react or express my feelings in such a scenario. A Honda car is normally preferred for its engine quality especially for its Petrol engines. How can it lost its torque suddenly while cruising at a speed of 80-90 Km/Hrs. Had my car’s usage been very heavy, I would have taken the logic of wear and tear as well. But at 9553 KMs, that too in a patrol car, where you presume that till at least 2-3 lac KMs, it wouldn’t show any sign of slowing down, and even no observation has been highlighted in recent preventive maintenance service. It’s beyond understandable levels.
As per Service manager of Deccan Honda Pimpri Branch the problem occurs due to my bad driving even though I had drive many cars in last 10 years.
So guys until you don’t own a taxi badge, you should not purchase any Honda car as if any thing goes wrong they will blame you for your driving skills.
I also thinks Honda should never sell any car to anyone without having driving test done and for those who is having less than 50 years of driving experience and should conduct fortnightly driving test.

Durability of parts are very very poor.
Customer service is worst.

I’m writing this review about Honda Amaze (petrol) as a successful user for about 2years. I drove this compact sedan boy for about 21,000kM over cities, highways, rough roads & hills during these 2 years. I’m an Structural Engineer, automobiles enthusiast and my intention of writing this review is to give fair idea about Amaze & it’s challengers (Xcent, Dezire, Zest etc). Though Amaze diesel offers great mileage (about 18-20km/ lit in the city, 22-25km/ lit in the highways), I had sensed the diesel version offers so much vibrations to the overall body & noise into the cabin. Eventually, just about 0.5km test ride feel, I decided to try only petrol version. Even, Honda city has this body vibration issues due to the Honda’s 1st ever raw diesel engine in India. But, City somehow could manage with it’s body weight & better acoustic insulation.
Overall:
Amaze-Petrol version is ‘the best car’ in the sub-4m segment in India.
Ergonomic Comfort & Seating comfort:
Amaze offers the best in class leg room, thigh support, sitting comfort. I’m 6’-1” tall & when I drive this car, 6’ tall person can very comfortably sit in the rear seat. 3 average weight persons (65kg to 85kg ~ total 210 to 220kg) can sit comfortably in the second row. It’s additional seat pads near to doors offer better shoulder support. All of the chanllengers (desize, Xcent, Zest) has about 15-25% lesser comforts than Amaze. Amaze achieved all of these comfort by shaving off the seat thickness & glove boxes, door pads/ pockets etc.
Riding comfort & mileage:
The engine is so smooth, steering comfort, clutch & gear engagements etc also so great – It doesn’t require a review here as Honda is known for it. In terms of vehicle stability at 140km/ hr speed in the highways, Amaze scores great. Dezire also has great stability at 140km/ hr speed, I don’t know about Xcent & Zest. Amaze can go comfortably at 30km speed in the 5th gear in the straight road. In general, the driver get irritated when he wants to reach 60+ speed from 3rd/ 4th gear to 4th/ 5th gear. I mean, it’s bit slow in that slot. But, after reaching 70km, it’ll listen to the acceleration pressure.
You cant drive this vehicle the way you want if you are really particular about good mileage. I mean to say, if you want to get good mileage, you have to tune your driving method to soft method, to have better mileage.
I got 19+km in the highways when I drove at the speed of 90-110km/ hr speed with totally 2 persons in the car. I got 18+km when totally 4 persons in the car. I got 17+km when I drove 100-120km/hr with 4 persons in the car. I used to get 10-14km/hr in the city (Chennai), that mileage purely depends on the road traffic conditions & the driving method. I think, Dezire & Zest offers about 5-10% higher mileage than Amaze.
Body & outlook:
It’s a light weight body vehicle. The body, bumpers made from thin metal/ plastic plates. Sporty look car. All the times, looks great in the side look. Look decently good in the front & rear look.
Price:
Amaze is pricy about 30K to 60K compared to it’s challengers. But, it’s worth it.
Brand Value:
You can have the brand value while driving the vehicle, but in the used vehicle sale Dezire, Zest & Xcent would beat Amaze.
Others:
It’s less maintenance vehicle.
It’s good for the hill drive (kerala) with fully loaded condition. Yet to try at the steap roads like Kodaikanal/ Ooty.
Authorized service centre only can handle this vehicle. Not all local mechanics could handle. In fact, Maruthi vehicles are the other way.

Exterior Sportier and appealing to the eye.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Cabin looks more elegant than before with dual tone dashboard,new instrument panel with tachometer, speedometer and Multi-Information Display,best in class rear legroom space.It also has amongst the best head-room, boot-space and thigh support in the segment.The boot size 400lt is too good enough to fit large and small suitcases.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Honda Amaze Facelift continues with the same set of engine 1.5 liter iDTEC diesel 4 cylinder mill generating 100 PS power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm.This engine claims a mileage of 25.8 kmpl.the NVH levels of new Amaze diesel are much better than before.Even while cruising on the highway, the road noise does not seep into the cabin at speeds of up to 100 kmph.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is awesome.lighter steering wheel.Diesel variant with 5 speed MT can easily cruise at 120-130 kmph.
Final Words With the facelift, Honda has ironed out most of the factors which deterred buyers in this segment from staying away from the Amaze. Not only the car looks much sportier from outside, it is also well-proportioned. The dashboard layout is amongst the best in its class, while the powerful and efficient diesel 1.5-liter engine makes a strong case. Overall a value for money car.

it is a good come back by HONDA on the face lift . it looks very bold and Promising. no plus at the rear. the bold look in the front gives more confident like a good compact sedan

interior is very premium and classic . the dash board, speedometer and automatic climate gives the immense pleasure while driving. the AC vents, fuel range, fuel avaerage are all essential and inlcuded in the facelift which is added advantage

I bought amaze due to the CVT technology. one of the worlds proven IVTEC engine with CVT technilogy. the riding is very smooth and the performance of the engine is very good. i ride 2 times to coimbatore from bangalore i got 18 kmpl and in city bangalore till now it is 12.5. CVT is very comfortable is hectice bangalore traffic. nice and good engine.

city riding is superb. power steering supports in hard turning curves and also in traffic. very good braking with ABS gives more confident to ride high speed

best compact sedan in its class. i strongly reccomend CVT AMAZE for families. i am sure they can enjoy the comfortable space and riding.

I got my Honda Amaze (SX, Petrol variant) recently from a dealership in Chennai less than a week ago.
The exterior of car looks ok, the interior of the car looks ok.
The main problem comes when noticing the bonnet after just running for 5-10 mins, the bonnet was very very hot and I couldn't even touch it.
We thought the problem could be because of the external heat factos like sunlight etc.
To verify this, we ran the car in idle for about 5-10 mins during night time. The same behaviour was observed in the night after a similar run for just 5-10 mins. This was really shocking to us considering how eagerly we had purchased this car with high expectations from a company like Honda.
Having relied on Honda, this is the least I had expected from it and it's very concerning to see this kind of behaviour from a new car from a reputed brand like Honda and because of such a situation we are unable to use the car as well.
Also everyone at the dealership say this is normal which is shocking.

PURCHASED A NEW HONDA AMAZE ON 17TH MARCH 2016. JUST RUN 1138 KMS. AC STOPS WORKING ABRUPTLY. TOOK THE CAR TO ACE HONDA SERVICE CENTER. SERVICE CENTER WAS RELUCTANT TO EVEN OPEN A JOB CARD. PATHETIC SERVICE AT ACE HONDA, NOIDA EVEN DURING WARRANTY PERIOD. EVEN AT HONDA INDIA AT THE TIME OF RECEPT OF COMPLAINT THEY ASSURE TO REVERT BACK BUT DONT CARE. DONT REVERT BACK. RESULTANTLY, THE CAR IS LYING AT SERVICE CENTER, ACE HONDA NOIDA FOR LAST 5 DAYS WITH THE COMPLAINT OF AC STOPPING ABRUPTLY. THE SERVICE CENTRE COULD NOT LOCATE THE FAULT. INSTEAD THEY SPOILT IT. NOW IT DOES NOT COOL SUFFICIENTLY EVEN WHILE WORKING. THEY ARE NOT BOTHERED TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE SYSTEM TO THE CUSTOMER'S SATISFACTION. HONDA DOES NOT HONOUR ITS WARRANTY. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE AFTER EARLIER HAVING DRIVEN MARUTI AND HYUNDAI CARS.
