Exterior Its a cocktail look. Sporty, Classy, Executive, Trendy and at the same time Aero dynamic. Dosent even shake when speeding at 140 km/hr. Simply superb experience on Hyd-Bang highway.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I would rate Ikon the least here. Ikon did a bad job when coming to interiors. Non uniform dashboard, uncomfortable rear seat for 3, seat adjustable nobs are manual (Its not pull and adjust, we need to rotate the nob to adjust the back), no head rest for rear seat, no cup holders at rear, front two seats are also not completely bucket seats, they are as good as swift or getz or punto seats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Too good to talk about. High enginie performance and very good fuel economy. I feel that the second gear has very less power, unlike other cars. In 2nd gear, I can speed upto 60km/hr in swift where as Ikon goes only till 40km/hr and I'm forced to change the gear to touch high speeds. Hope you got it. Keep changing the gears every often.
Ride Quality & Handling Very good. As I said, it doesnt even vibrate when speeding over 140km/hr. Simply superb car for the price that we've paid.
Final Words I dont know why am I even talking about it now as the car manufaturing is closed. Not sure what the plans are but hopefull it should come back with all the negatives fixed.

I have it since 2003. If you are a person who loves to drive it is the best car. recently a honda city infront of me breaked suddenly in a signal. I had no choice but to just touch and stop. The city bumber was like a chewed peice of cane. only my headlight was broken. I have done 83000 kms. I have driven from Chennai to cochin with family. no punctures.. break down on the way..it is also the most roomiest cars ( till corolla, optra, skoda) pick up is fabulas, once a kid on his bike by mistake banged on me.was able to chase and catch up with him in the thick of the trafic to check if I can try it on him. he was terrified.
(this is to illustrate how good it had been) I have to replace her... I am unable to find a replacement in its segment or in hte next the civic and the magnum's pick up are comparable on the road however the ford gear box is the best. It has never given me up. It was always the plum..Now the cost of spares have been brought down.. the staff also have become friendlier.. however.. the crowd at the service is a night mare. there are so many vehicles and it is becomming impossible to get it the same day till my previous service... there are only two dealers in Chennai...The boot is also the largest. I always feel the car when I drive unlike in the honda city.
Fixing the dents are cool one door dent cost about 5k. one fender 3500 except for the boot which might be about 10k
I dont know why ford does not have something in the next segment. one unfortunate thing is that the quality of plastics used in endavour and fiesta appear cheaper compared to that of my car.

Exterior Excelent ,sporty style, but i think its personal choice.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Double tone interior is good, enough space, comfortable driving postion,gives luxury feeling.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox As far engine is concerend, little bit noisy, when u look at its power an fuel efficiency, no car comes near ikon, smooth gearbox. i have driven for 2000kms n its improving by time.
Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality, handling is too good on highways. better than swift and vista . but ritz is as good as ikon in handling and ride quality.no doubt swift and ritz r good cars but why wait for long time if u r getting more than that.personaly think if u r goin to get a car, go to every car take test drive and then thinkabt it.from my experience,u must go with ur personal choice.
Final Words It took abt one n half months for me to decide btween ikon dzire, ritz, swift, vista. but frns who r confused btwen these cars, go for ikon without any hesitation.thnx to ford for makin a great car. Those who r confused here is my mail add asdeol24@gmail.com.

Dear all, no doubt ikon tdci is a good car, but few startling facts remain like the engine still is BS III compliant which company is not out rightly telling its prospective buyers, and there is no plans of upgrading engine in near future. Current norms are BS IV and in that way the engine is inferior at least on paper which means a lower resale value. Ikon has good mileage but maintenance cost is still higher in comparison to maruti, tata and hyundai. Interior space is just ok. I suggest if you are a diehard enthusiast then go for ikon, but if you can do practical planning then indigo ecs is the best option considering the price, mileage, space, superior engine (CR4 BSIV), features and total VFM.I too wanted to buy ikon diesel but after researching for one month both on internet and talking to experts i zeroed on Indigo ecs ELX. I hope you will make a good decision.

Exterior Excellent care in terms of looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable, spacious, little bit less space for three people at the back.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent performance. Great power. Highly stable at high speeds have driven up to 180 km per hour.. the car is very stable at that speed. Only bad part is the fuel consumption which hits pocket for regular drivers like me. Gearbox is smooth. But parts are very expensive.

Final Words Excellent car... if Ford could improve their after sales service it would be the best car in its class. We went for a lot of long drives, the most remarkable was Bangalore Dharmasthala Kuke Subramanya---coorg--- bangalore. This trip was most remarkable as the roads were mix of excellent roads and pathetic roads. The car was excellent in any type of road. No complaints what so ever.
Areas of improvement Spare parts price, fuel economy, after sales service. The service centres are pathetic.

The new shape has lost the aerodynamics compared to the excellent older shape causing stability issues at high speeds and high speed braking. Dual tone Beige seats are a sham..poor poor quality doesnt provide side support to back, specially felt while cornering. Poor quality fabric tends to get dirty. Boot opening from inside should be a standard fitment. Wiper blade rubber got detached within first 2 months. High engine noise level inside cabin, which might reduce after first 5000kms, when engine smoothens. Cost cutting measures are obvious in this model. Thats all about the negatives.
New vehicle yet to reach first service mileage and still fuel economy is superb, getting 11.6 kmpl on a daily rush hour run from Thane to Worli, 70Kms daily. AC is good with responsive controls. Fun to drive car within city. Highway driving is a slight suspect with aerodynamics & brakes not upto the mark. Steering is solid, though some may feel it a bit hard, but I like the road feel. Undercar is superb engineering, neat solid suspension & ground clearance. Over all a good package for the price. Huge boot space , Good family car. BUT mind it , you will certainly have to get new seat covers and pay Rs. 5000 plus for the inside cabin boot opening system fitment. With all the security checks everywhere, its a pain to open the boot from outside. FORD INDIA, dont be so dumb to not offer this as a standard feature, pl. note that due to the lack of this feature, your vehicle was my 2nd choice and bought it only as other guy could not commit delivery.
Finally ... GOOD SOLID CAR but NOTHING SPECIAL TO FALL IN LOVE WITH.
