Exterior Still after 2.5years of its launch Linea is still the best looking sedan under 15 lakhs category.Those excellent curves and lines all over give the car a stunning look.According to me the side profile of the car is amazing and with those front grills it looks simply hot.The curvy roof of the car is simply amazing and gives the car a coupe like look and last but not the least with a sobre looking back the car is simply a head turner. A true Italian flair indeed.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior quality is good and is very much comparable with the other sedans in the segment but it is not something extra ordinary to talk about unlike the exteriors.The rear legroom is good enough though headroom can be a problem for those above 6 feet 2 inches but certainly its not deal breaker.The seats are very comfortable with good underthigh and back support and I must say the froont 2 seats are huge in Linea.Seats have a height adjuster also with recline setting.The car also comes with a armrest which is a great boon in long drives.The glove box is also of average size but does not come AC cooling.
The car also comes with a rear AC vent which helps in cooling the cabin faster.The car also has a inbuilt bluetooth which hepls to take calls and read message without touching your phone.The whole multi functional display (MID) gives a whole lot of information like Inst. Consumption,Avg Consumption, Avg speed,Range,Outside temp,trip distance etc. A gadget freak will simply love to be in the car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This car is heavy simply due to the thick sheet metal used to make the car.It is powered by the 1.4 l 90hp motor which gives decent performance and good fuel economy.Clearly it is not a car which can be driven in a rally or a drag race but gives adequate performance in city as well as on the highway. After the 2nd gear the car is simply a dream to run with its refined FIRE engine.The NVH level of the car are simply amazing and the engine is barely audible inside the cabin unless revved hard.
The gear box is good with nice and accurate shifting.The first gear is too short and dies out very soon.In all other gears the driveability is great and engine is responsive.The car easily clocks 165km/hr and beyond tat I have never tested her. The engine is frugal and gives around 11-12 km/l in the city and 15-16 on the highways which is good considering the size and weight of the car.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent Excellent and simply Excellent !!!!! In this department no other car under 15lks category can even come close to Linea.The car has a great Hydraulic Power Steering which gives a great feedback and is very accurate.You can push the car to each and every corner of the car and I can bet you that you will never feel nervous.The car is simply a treat to drive on highways due to its great driving dynamics and superior handling.
The Ride in Linea is also very plush and compliant thanks to great suspension setup.The car soaks all the potholes and makes the ride simply amazing.Passengers never feel bumps even on the most uneven roads though ground clearence could be a problem. Overall Ride and Handling of this car is something which I boast of.
Final Words Overall a great product from FIAT : Gorgeous looks,Adequate Engine and robust handling.The geabox need a tuning so that pick up of the car can be improved. Otherwise the car is flawless.
Areas of improvement Fit and Finish can be improved and with some tuning of the gear box the car can be fun to drive.

Exterior No other car in this segment is as beautifully designed as Linea. Its a head turner all the way.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable. Sitting position is excellent 😝. Its not lower like Verna or the vento or Rapid etc. You get very nice view from inside. Features even for the base model of Linea are far superior than even mid and top variants of many other cars.
Price wise also its the best in the sgment (below 10 lakhs). It gives you the feel of a luxury car.
Ride Quality & Handling Handing in linea is a bench mark. No its not read from others i experience it every day. Ride quality and handling especially cornering is the best part of this car. Ground clearance of 185 mm in 2012 model has made it all the more comfortable on bad roads.
Final Words Its the best car in Indian martket today (in sub 10 L category) but is grossly under-stated. The main reason being beacuse of after sales service of Fiat-tata. But with Fiat going independent and more and more independent exclusive fiat showrooms coming up its surely improving. Its value for money 😵. Don't go by the negative publicity given by non-users of Fiat.
Areas of improvement Nothing except for the pickup which could have been better but then overall the car is far better than the contempraries.

I purchased fiat linea on 2nd may 2013 XXXXXXXX, Register No. XXXXXXXXX.
Six month old car has been driven 5000 KM, also completed one free service as per fiat guide line.
I took this vehicle to long drive from mumabi to Akkalkot near solapur of Maharashtra, However Coming from Akkalkota my vehicle gave clutch problem, immediately I called up road assistance Help line, I enquired about any service center availability in solapur or nearby (it was Sunday 29th dec. 2013,)
I got information there is no service near Solapur and they promise me to toe the car to nearby service Center which was Pune and it was 300 km away from my driving location, I was traveling with my Family and I was 500 km away from my home destination. It was embracing situation I have to wait Four hours till the arrangement of toe vehicle to lift my vehicle but question of family how to take them to My final destination. Finally as per the instruction I drive my car towards Pune , driving car on lonely high with My family in break-down condition was nightmare. I realized Purchased of this vehicle because it was cheaper than One lakh Rupees with and other Brand, which compared before Purchase was wrong decision , Driving on lonely high with family was big risk the value of money was negligible in that situation. With god blessing I could reach up to Pune with speed of 40 to 60 KM.
My Vehicle totally broken down near Pune and I called up road assistance for lift the vehicle up to Nearest Service Center, as it was Sunday service center was closed. I arrange Private Vehicle for My family for further journey toward Mumbai. Road assistance toe my vehicle to Pundit Auto – Pune
I stayed back Pune for that night and called up next morning Pundit auto and check status about of my vehicle, response from service center was just they have opened the break down car and it will take time to analyze the fault.
I came back to Mumbai and went directly to the Dealer and argued about the faulty and Unreliable product they have sold out, they help me to sort out the issue and give concession in repair cost. I waste two days and money in this incident.
One question in mind is why we purchase the vehicle, because we love our family and always worry about their safety and comfort
Now automatic light on/off in Dark is not working after servicing, gear functioning is doubtful , Now I have Parked my Vehicle in garage as show piece .
I posted above issue to Fiat and received response from Company is that
Such defects are purely due to clutch riding & not any manufacturing defect .
I am driving vehicle for last 10 years, having enough experience of driving in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra, when I sensed the problem I called up Help line and enquired about service center ,because of non- availability of service center in nearby, I forced to drove vehicle up to 300 KM and result into clutch burnout.
They are not accepting poor service network. They are happy in stating that special favour of goodwill gesture for replacement of burnt clutch assembly –part.

Exterior Have owned it for more than three years. Still cannot get my eyes off it.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable, excellent air conditioning with climate control.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great Engine goes to 140 plus effortlessly on highways. Have clocked 62000 kms and have achieved an average of 23.9 kms with a.c. on the highway.
Ride Quality & Handling Very good suspension and kisses the road on high speeds too. Power steering is a dream.
Final Words With all the features it offers, it is the best buy in its league. Can say this after owning it for more than three years. Have driven it for more than 600 kms in a day tirelessly. It is a pity people do not know much about this car, due to negative marketing by Tata Motors. I hope now with Fiat opening its own network, this area will improve.
Areas of improvement Ground Clearance and leg space between seats needs to be improved.

Exterior Itis a real beauty, timeless design. Paint quality is top notch. Body looks strong and heavy. long chasis and silver front grill makes her gorgeous.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior fit and finish is very good, with great seats and powerful A/C.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is dull, doesn't have good pickup, noisy. It appears that you have to push hard to make the car move in lower gears. I found it somewhat similar to the MM540 I used to own.
Ride Quality & Handling Good rear seat comfort and suspension. Steering seems to be little hard and heavy. Ground clearance is extremely low. If you plan to buy a used linea be prepared to spent extra 14000 for the gc kit.
Final Words Very good looking car not so good for inidan conditions.
Areas of improvement GC and lower gear performance, engine noise. Fuel efficiency is around 12Km/L on an average in citi driving conditions with A/C ON.

I bought a Fiat Linea TJet emotion in the month of Oct 2014. I have driven the car for almost 6K km and so I can provide a detailed review of the car.
Exterior The car really looks good from the side profile. The front is not as good as the previous version but still OK.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This is where this car really shines. I owned an i20 diesel before this and the ride quality was quite pathetic. I could feel every bump on the board but at the same time the handling was so bad that I had to slow down many times on highways. But linea remains planted on corners at high speed. The interiors feel airy and very confortable. There are some minor ergonomic issues but none really bad. The rear seat is also very comfortable for long journeys.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine as expected is superb. The note is very sporty and the response is instant. The turbo works smoothly and there is very mininal lag. It is defifnitely the best petrol engine below 15L.
The gear box is a bit rubbery and it someties feel difficult to engage. But after running in about 2K km the gear shift has become smooth. No more bad slotting.
The fuel economy
City : Bumper to bumper : (9 to 10 kmpl ) [Bangalore]
City : Slow moving : [10 to 11 kmpl]
Highway : High speed (> 130 kmph) [12 to 13 kmpl]
Highway : Moderate sped (about 90 to 100 kmph) [ 14 to 16 kmpl
Ride Quality & Handling Do I need to say anything here. It is just brilliant. I dont stop for potholes anymore (Bangalore has plenty of them). The car just rides over them with just a thud, where my i20 would rattle and create loud noises as it my suspension would break. The linea just glides over them.
Handling is very predictable and accurate. Nothing can beat Linea here.. I always wonder how this is possible (Good handling and very good comfort).
Looks like Fiat has really tuned the anti-roll bars and the suspension components.
Final Words A value for money car. At around 10.5 lakhs on-road for the top end, this is an excellent buy. This for for people who love driving and appreciate road manners. For every other guy who is looking to buy a car which everyone else buys, then a Hyundai or Maruthi is best. Fiat is for those who know the mechanics of the car.
FYI : I had test drove all the sedans, the city, Verna, Vento, Sunny etc..
The Vento comes close to the Linea for handling (I did not drive the Fiesta....)
The City and Verna is for a regular family man who would never go beyond 100Kmph. (Alok Nath's car) Beyond that it would start to be bouncy on a highway with curves.
Areas of improvement
1. The stock music system is pathetic... My 2000Rs speaker at home sounds better. This can however be fixed by changing the speakers alone (For about 6K)
2. There are some ergonomic issues like placement of power window buttons etc. I needed bit longer hands..
3. The exterior styling could have been un-done. The old linea with just the new interiors should have been perfect.
4. The MID is not very exciting. The fonts are from the 1980s and looks very basic although it is very informative. eg. it shows exactly which door is open, or which bulb has fused, which sensor sent an error etc.

Pros .
Stunning looks
Superb interiors (however finish could have been a little better)
Good music system and keys are superb and easily reachable.
Blue & Me. (amazing feature)
Gear ratios are good for city drive. (Thanks for its torque)
Amazing boot space.
Cons
The car yells at you when you push the accelerator.
Suspension is like riding a go cart. It is superb hard.
Drive is not something you would enjoy. Drive is not smooth how ever you would not feel the Turbo lag. The engine is sluggish and I think power to weight ratio is pretty bad.
Vehicle showed some positive signs in 4th and 5th gear.
Space. - Very bad head room and visibility for a person of my height.
Telescopic steering along with tilt would be welcome to get rid of awkward seating position.
Car had fuel average of 9.2 KM on display. We can presume it would deliver around 10-11 Km in Bangalore traffic with better driving conditions.
Rear arm rest is too short to comfortable rest you arm.
I would rate 5 out of ten for this car and 9 out of 10 for Honda city and 6 for SX4

Exterior Probably the best looking car in this segment. I had actually booked Vento, it did not come after few months wait. My old car was Honda City which I used for 6 years. On exterior look and feel Linea T jet certain scores far ahead of its competition.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent. Particularly Blue & me is a very useful features. Speaker system could be better. In the price range of Tjet, I think the music system is okay.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbo Very good power. Driving comfort is as good as most cars(Vento,City) in this segment. At low speed, the car tend to stall, probably low torque at low speed particularly when driving over the bumps.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is certinly quite good. Nothing extraordinary about this car though.
Final Words On detail research on specification and test drive of Vento, SX4 and Linea Tjet, I found Tjet is certainly a very good buy. It has a very good look and finish. I bought this car this december 2010. My driver drives the car, though some times I take the car around myself.
Areas of improvement Some how Fiat has not been able to make its name/brand in the market. That is why its products suffers due to poor resale value. Another area which Fiat has to look in to is its service network. Partnership with Tata is certianly good but Tata does not have experience of customer service for high end buyers.
Fuel efficinecy needs improvement.
