this was exactly how the palio got reviews, the 1st year that it was launched, every indian sold his/her heart to the car , so did I , i bought the 1.6sp sport pkg for 5.8L.
look now at the dealers, they dont even have the expertise to diagonose the issues via the ECU computers. end of the day i sold my Car via CARWALE!!.
all i can say, is that the car was brilliant, but stumped by nigling issues of the car and a dismal dealer service. spares tend to be expensive....
for me FIAT is an abbreviation for Fix It All The Time! sorry folfs this is not a fiat bashing but a true true petrol head being dissapointed/

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Clutch failure after 20000 km , paid rs. 8000 /- since not covered in guarentee,brake pad failure after 30000 km , no guarentee.Glove box lock breaks replacement after payment.suspension rod failure after 40000km no guarentte, got repaired after payment of Rs. 4000/- .I have spent almost Rs. 15000 towards car repairs in period of 18 months , and car is guarenteed for two years and 80000 Km as per guarentee book. I have written several letters to FIAT india , there is no reply on any issues. I think, I made a big mistake of buying FIAT car.
Ride Quality & Handling Very Good.
Final Words Though the car is good and gives driving pleasure.Fuel efficiency is bad and the worst part is ignorance of customer issues from FIAT India, Dealer can loot the customer by avoiding to give any free service / parts even the car is in guarentee.
Areas of improvement Attitude of FAIT india toward customers and control over dealers.

Thanks to fiat-tata for treating Indian customers on par with European
customers.
1. Engine:
The MJD engine needs no
intro, it is the same engine which does duty in Swift, Dzire, Palio MJD,
2. Interior:
I could not believe if am seeing a car in
Space & Comfort:
Front legroom is very good. All the seats have
very good thigh support. Personally I feel seating position in palio to be the
best followed by Linea. Rear seat leg room too is large. I am 6+ and felt
driving and rear seat comfort to be very good but after sitting in the gap
between my head an top of the car was only 2 inch. I think it should not be any
big issue.
3. Ride and Handling:
I could not feel any Chennai potholes riding on this car. The handling to is
very great. I had some tough time taking an U-Turn. The car is very lengthy and
so is the turning radius.
Finally i felt this car is really VFM and booked it after checking with couple
of my friends who own Palio. The service is scheduled every 15000 km. My
friends did not have any spare parts availability issue with their palio stile.
And finally even if don’t trust Fiat because of their past experience, I do have
full trust on TATA as they own 50% of Fiat

On 25th December, I took ownership of this italian model. Fortune Cars, Navi Mumbai was my dealer and I'm very happy to have them with me. Delivery of the car along with all documents, Lord Ganpathi idol and sweetbox made me humbled. The Linea key chain is too good. I thank Mr. Salim for giving me the best offer and handling the complete deal the way I wanted.
Exterior
You run this darling and yes 'Admiration is Guranteed', people are stucked!!! A kid came to me and said, 'noone has such a car in our society of 1500 flats', what do you say to this!!! Fiat has proved, they were and are really good in designing. People stop looking at Honda City, SX4 and the similar sedans in this class, they admire this gem of a piece. The look and feel of this italian lady is really outstanding. The moment somebody looks at it, they feel the value is above 10 lacs, but it is not!! I took her to a car accessories shop, shopkeeper couldn't mention anything except the perfume to this emotion pack. These are compliments!!!!!!
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The technologically advanced features including Microsoft Blue & Me are too good. Comfort in this vehicle is beyond your imagination. You feel soft and cozy being seated. Except less headroom (from the roof), you have everything you can think off better leg room, confort for driver and 1st passenger. The boot space is like kid's bedroom (500 litres), wow!!!!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
My need was for my family and not taking it daily to the office. Keeping the day-to-day running in back of our mind, we decided to go for petrol version. Seeting inside, you don't know if the car is on or off and so it has been fitted with double cranking prevention system. You find reviews for Linea mentioned with less power comments, I have a argument here, I hope we have this as sedan and not a racing car. This car can take you and your family very smoothly and easily up hills also, the power required to run this cuty in a bit aggressive mode is available.
Driving is a leisure with Linea. A very smooth and silent gearbox, you feel like running the car on sea. I will be watching the fuel economy space, as of now I can claim 9-10 with new engine. It should improve after few hundreds of kms.
Ride Quality & Handling
I have never experienced such a comfort and quality of ride. As I mentioned above, you feel like drivind this on ocean. The power steering handles this sedan very well. The moment you reach 4th gear and above, it runs on your finger tips!!!!
Final Words
Luxury In New Elegant Automotive (LINEA) - Go for fully loaded Emotion Pack. I love my choice, thnx a ton to everyone involved in design, making and assembling of this car. I'm thankful to Fortune Cars, Navi Mumbai also (Sales peron Mr. Salim) for handling the complete deal so nicely.

Exterior Best in the class. Better than even higher class Corolla, Civic, Cruze.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good performance (1.4 T0Jet expected, 1.3 MJD & 1.4 90 BHP too ordinary) BUT scope for better fuel efficiency.
Ride Quality & Handling Need Tyres 205/60R 16, 185/70 R 15 or 195/65 R 15 (195/60 R 15 not best for Indian roads).
Final Words Sorry to disappoint FIAT fans. But the fact is FIAT is missing one after another opportunity. 1st MNC to come to India after 1991 liberalization.(Rather it was already here via PAL), Never bothered about customers, always tried to impose products irrespective of what buyers want. Didnt learn from mistakes. UNO was outdated product. Palio. Poor network & Poor engine choice (1.9 heavy Diesel). SIANA same mistake launch under-power car (1.2) 1st, then Diesel after 6 months, powerful (1.6) after 12 months. brand was already eroded. Same with LINEA. Manza in much much better VFM than present Linea (1.3 Dsl & 1.4 90 BHP Petrol). Linea T-Jat is too late.
Punto 90 BHp faded, too late engine upgradation in Punto. And FIAT has NOT yet rectified mistake of NO Reverse Gear Lamp on Right side on Punto Rear. Punto reverse gear lamp too lowly placed. Chevrolet rectified this error by moving SPARK reverse gear lamps up in tail lamp cluster.
Sorry folks, FIAT should leave India and its cars should be badged as Tata or Maurti to sell big (as 1.3 MJD doing).
Areas of improvement Service Network, Cost of maintenance and fuel efficiency improvement are desired. Car is too heavy, if weight can be reduced to under 1200 Kgs.
It can beat higher segment cars like Corolla, Civic etc.Half Hearted Effort from FIAT. Seems not serious in India

Exterior Not as good as Cruze but Still Its Exterior looks Fabulous with its dashing sporty front grill, Exterior makes it a Dashing Sporty Car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Linea Comes with comfort and convenience features like Hill Holder function (for hill starts where the car would automatically brake to stop it rolling backwards when you take your foot off to accelerate), Rain sensing wipers, Automatic headlamps and Reverse parking sensors.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The Linea T-Jet comes with the turbocharged version of the naturally aspirated 1.4 petrol and develops a healthy 120 ps @ 5000 rpm and more impressive 206 nm of torque right from 1750 rpm onwards! With so much torque low down in the rev range we would expect the T-Jet to be even more fuel efficient than the current NA 1.4, simply because you dont need to rev the car as much to move about and can simply ride the torque most of the times within the city.
The Linea T-Jet accelerate from 0-100 kph in a blistering 9.2 seconds with a top speed of around 200 kph. When launched, Linea T-Jet is the only car in its catagory to have a turbocharged petrol engine.
Ride Quality & Handling This is the field where Linea is way ahead of Cruze. specially if you are driving in city.
Final Words Just Take a Test drive before going for any other car.
Areas of improvement I think Exterior can be improved.

Exterior: well ,nothin much to say but is a real head turner,keeps people saying 'what a beauty'.nice muscular body,nice snout,very masculine sporty looking rear.Overall looks much expensive than it is.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): lots of features fully computerised,electronically controlled ORVMs,cabin lights are too good,driver seat adjustments are good,instrument panel had lot of information displying like distance to empty,fuel effciency,trip meter,temperature(outer),reserve fuel warning(very good feature to check fuel effciency(reserve to reserve),warning alarm for any abnormalityt or fault in the car.Lot of space at the rear but headroom is less for a tall person but manageable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Engine is good but not power full nad peepy but good for a family you will feel it to be suffciently powered but yes you cannot take it for racing ita a heavy built car.fuel economy is good mine is giving 15 kmpl,but people say it will increase after first service mine has done 2500 kms in one month.
Ride Quality & Handling: its excellent ,excellent excellent.
Final Words: this is the only car in india which is a complete car with proper shape,space,feature and ultimate comfort in the price given,and recently i have heard Fiat has increased the power of the LINea,very good for people who have not bought till now.Go for it.Its a value for money car with 4 year warrantty and RSA.cAR IS DESIGNED VERY AESTHTICALLY.No nuisance car ,one feels proud to be a owner of this car.
Areas of improvement: CAREFULLY LISTEN FIAT GUYS-YOU HAVE MADE AN EXCELLENT CAR-FIAT CAN DO WONDERS WITH THIS CAR BY A LITTLE EFFORT I.E BY IMPROVING A LITTLE (though lot of improvement is already being done )THE A.S.S in terms of providing a different workshop for LINEA customers or atleast a different section for linea customers,because getting serviced along with some rowdy taxi drivers and hooligans and same technicians when attend linea quality of serviCe gets poor.Recently i had a problem solved at the service centre ,i was attENded properly ( i was given special treament and was attended out of turn being a FIAT VEHICLE OWNER). But it was over crowded and technician who did my job made lot of screw driver mark on the bumper of vehicle as he attending an old indica just before attending my vehicle.What iam trying to say FIAT Might have to spend a little on getting a seperate workshop or atleast a section dedicated for LINEA but in long run it will be -rewarded heavily in terms of more linea sales and better level of CUSTOMER SATISFACTION,becasue THE FIAT LINEA IS AN EXCELLENT CAR EXAMPLE OF ENGINEERING MARVEL.SO THERE IS NO REASON IT WILL NOT SELL -IT IS PICKNIG UP SLOWLY.THANKS...

I purchased this car in Concorde motors Bangalore on March 27. They offered free insurance (28K) and old price tag which is before budget price. I saved around 15K + 28K. Total I got for 10,50,000. Color is Tuscan wine.
Exterior This car has most beautiful royal look in affordable sedans. I prefer long cars (Although it is tough to drive ;) ).
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good interior with very good plastic quality. Chrome fittings on dash board gives elegant look. Ac is very efficient, Just cools in 2 mins even in hot sun. 3 rear AC vents are very useful for rear passengers.
Sound system is decent with blue and me. One good feature I found is automatically volume will increase in high speeds and reduces in low speeds. Found some vibration noise form speakers. Driver information system works very well. I tested the average fuel consumption, which is displayed in driver information with manual (full tank to full tank). Overall I got 17Km/l with full AC at 23 degree centigrade (Bangalore to Tirupati). Didn't get a chance to verify rain sensors and automatic head lamps.

Engine pickup is the area to be improved. I went till 120 kmph, engine is very calm (comparing with ford fiesta classic and innova).
Ride Quality & HandlingPreviously I drove innova, verna, fiesta, desire and manza. I feel this car has the most smooth drive among all. Even ground clearance is very good (again I am comparing with fiesta).
Final WordsEverything is good.
Areas of improvement Service need to be improved. I asked for eye glass holder, which is not available in dynamic version. They quoted 1200/- :( which is very costly. There is no space to keep bottles. This car should come with reverse sensors, which is very useful for such a long car.

I purchased Fiat Linea Active from M/S Pandit Auto on Tilak Road Pune in the last week of May 2012. [Chasis No. MCA110A1BXXXXXXXXXXX Vehicle Regn No MH41XXXXX] Now I have reasons to believe that I made a big mistake. Here is why:
While driving the car home, I noticed that it was pulling slightly towards right-side. I also found that the rubber-mat on the spare-tyre cover in the boot was in torn condition. Next day water started leaking from the AirCon. It appeared to that the product was pushed out of the factory-gates without proper & adequate quality-checking.
When I reported the defects to M/S Pandit auto, I was asked 2 send the vehicle 2 them for repairs at a certain date & time but they did not take the car in at the appointed time. I had 2 send it back two days later. I was told that : [a] they had rechecked the wheel-alignment; [b] the leakage in the AirCon was rectified and [c] the rubber-mat wud be replaced only after the Fiat Company authorizes replacement.
Next week I traveled to Ratnagiri. About 100 kms out of Pune, an intermitant rattling sound was noticed from the left front-wheel area. I took out the wheel and checked out the nuts & bolts but everything seemed to be in order. However, the rattling noise persisted. After reaching Ratnagiri, I sent the vehicle to Tata Motors garage and it was noticed that two bolts from somewhere under the belly on the left side were loose. It was fixed in 10 minutes! But this was just another example of inadequate predelivery inspection.
The complaint of car pulling towards right side persisted. I was told by the dealer that this wud be further checked at the time of the first servicing. I sent the car to M/S Pandit Auto for the first free servicing on 20/07/2012. After two full working days [and a holiday in between], I got the car back today morning without being washed! The reason? Their workshop did not have water! When the car was handed over on 20th July, the milometer reading was 5005 kms. When I got it back on 23rd July, the reading was 5050 kms, which means that the car was used by the dealer’s workshop for 145 kms. Their explanation? The car had to be taken for a test-drive. However, the delivery-invoice [No PanditLtd-TR-1213-05372 dated 23/07/2012] shamelessly mentions Kms as '5095! I think not the car but I was taken for a ride.
My conclusions are: [1] Quality-assurance inspection at pre-delivery stage at Fiat motors is suspect or absent ; [2] Customer-Care at M/S Pandit Auto, Tilak Road Pune is non-existent and [3] It was a mistake 2 buy a Fiat Car.
