Exterior The care looks ordinary. Styling is not attractive to make is look different. Vento, Line, Manza, Dzire & Verna look much more attractive. SAIL can be catogorized with plane-jane looking Scala, Sunny, Fiesta, Verito etc.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The features are seen in every car. Though, some features in SAIL are in top end model, which you can get even in base models of other cars.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine can be compared with FIAT's MJD that is being used by Tata, Maruti & FIAT Diesesl cars. Though, FIAT motor performs much better. I didnt take test drive, but by engine's sound it can be judged that GM motor lacks the "Power feel" that FIAT motor offers. GM Showroom staff say, it can deliver 14-16 in city, which is good for the car.
Ride Quality & Handling Its heavy car, though in dimensions its smaller than most peers. Expect handling to be good. The car should be easier than most peers in city traffic.
Final Words Its overall mix of simplicity, economy & comfort. Though SAIL fails to be leader in any of the feature vs peers. Given GM's Free warranty & freebies, it can be good competitor
Areas of improvement Styling, specially from rear could have been better, may be like CRUZE. The car is bulky and some more cabin space is expected at Rs.7 Lakhs On-Road car. Overall its good work by GM.
