Practical design features and unique tough looks that made me go for the Fusion Diesel. 3 yrs, back, I wanted this car but the petrol version was too expensive to buy as well as run.. So opted for Esteem vxi. Then came in the diesel and my dreams realized.. Been driving it now for over 2 weeks having covered 1200 kms. With fuel consumption of 21 in combined city and highway driving, the ac being on about 40% of the time, what more can one can ask for in a car of this size? Ample boot and interior space with a comfortable drive on rough and tar roads. Cons are change of gears, but you get used to it. Power is perfect for Indian roads where its the cows and camels that control your speed and not the power inside the bonnet!. I strongly recommend it for anyone who wants a practical machine with an attitude!Great fuel economy, styling, comfort, storage space, built, smooth ride, brakingNo sound system or even speakers, slightly pricy

      Hi,

I took a test drive of Fusion 1.4 TDCI today & here is my review of the same:

      PROS:

      • Getting in & out of it is v easy. Seat height is at perfect level to get in & out.
      • Spacious from inside. Good headroom, legroom etc.
      • Rear seat split + rear seat complete foldable increasing boot space to 1175 L. I personally love this idea of complete foldable rear seats wherein 3-4 people can just sit in on the floor area & enjoy, maybe one can sleep also in so much space !!
      • AC is v effective; in just a few min I got chilled. Speed & acceleration hardly affected by AC at both 1st & 2nd air blower speed level.
      • Drivers view is v drive-friendly. Also sitting high gives u a better sense of control.
      • Big 15” tubeless tyres & great ground clearance, took bad roads & bumpy ones easily.
      • Same Fiesta 1.4L engine, so can expect good mileage. Even though power is 68PS, I could hardly feel lack of power as torque is extremely good.
      • Engine was so silent, I could not make out it’s a diesel engine at all !!
      • Distance to Empty (DTE) feature a great option (helps keep check of mileage).

      CONS:

      • No special features offered at this price. No airbags, no ABS, no climate control, no electric mirrors etc even as an option.
      • The bulge in the middle of the rear seat is definitely going to be uncomfortable for a 3rd passenger.
      • Pushed the car till 130 kmph with accelerator pressed fully - don’t think so it can go more than 150kmph (I know some people claim its top speed as 160kmph). But seriously this is fun to drive & safe, not meant for racing.
      • Ford’s service expensive – that’s what many people say.
      • Plenty of storage spaces (10 spaces), but a single one to keep a 1L bottle !!

Overall I’m very much satisfied by Fusion as compared to other cars. Anyone who can stretch their budget for Fusion, can certainly consider it !

same fiesta engine, very spacious, safe, great ground clearance, bigger tyres, 10 storage spacesslightly expensive, high speeds with difficulty, no special feature other than DTE

we've had a Paprika Red FF for the past 2years now, instead of going into a long winding description I'll just do some bullet points so that it's simpler to read:

      PROS

      1. spacious nooks and a very usable boot
      2. 17-18kmpl on city roads in bad traffic. 20+ on the highway
      3. reasonably good pickup which coupled with the form factor ensures you're first out of a traffic signal almost always
      4. balance between power and efficiency is just right for city driving and those weekend getaways
      5. ride quality is very good even with the slightly higher CG. Roll is not as pronounced as you would expect which is probably because of the larger wheelbase. Drive is actually pretty smooth
      6. high seating ensures you have a better driving stance and getting in and out of the car for aged passengers, pregnant ladies and taller people is easier as it doesn't involve crouching.
      7. small thoughtfull knick-knacks all over the car make it a very comfortable ride.

      CONS

      1. plastic quality is poor and there are typical Ford problems like wheel well noise, power window switch/winder motor failure which occur. The fact that these are known problems makes it simpler for the service people to fix them, if only ford could fix them for good :)
      2. Parts are always not available at the dealerships. so a one week wait is always expected. Once you get used to the "process" it's ok but personally speaking it's irritating to be told everytime that "the part will need to be flown in from Chennai"
great torque, powerful cooling, very spacious, reasonably good fuel efficiencyvery bad service support, parts not readily available

The ford fusion petrol version never took off as the car did not offer much to the buget conscious indian as it was way too expensive at the time of launch and returned poor mileage. Later price revisions made this a good value for money car.

The diesel engine on this car is a tried and tested engine which is also seen on the fiesta which is highly refined. Eventhough this car is well built and quite heavy it returns an amazing fuel economy of about 18-20 on the highway. The engine is no racer though but cruises well on the highway. The lower end torque is good for city driving conditions. The high ground clearence makes driving through bad roads seem easy and it can do a bit of off roading as well. The ride is not great but completely manageable but the handling is exceptional.

This car is a great buy for those who are looking for a practical car which is a cross over between a sedan and a SUV with descent performance and great  fuel economy.

A good pseudo SUV,great fuel efficiency, amazingly refined engine.Image, cost of spares.

I now own the Fusion Diesel for 7 months and have done roughly 12000 km.

The fuel economy with A/C on the highway if you drive below 2000RPM which is at the speed of 80 kmph is comfortably above 25,In higher speeds it is 18 to 20 In the city with a lot of gear shifts and clutch usage it comes down to 13.

Very good Looks from the front and good ground clearance.

Dont find the diesel engine noise at all inside the vehicle. People doubt whether its a petrol once they are inside.

Fun to drive on the Highway, Good control even over speeds of 130 KPH.

The pop up box on the dash board spoils the otherwise superb look of the interiors coz of the material, which is prone to a lot of scratches on it. No Music System or speakers.Could have done without that bump in the centre of the rear seat. The back parcel shelf should have been stronger.

The Central Locking is bad as it can be opened by anyone from all the 4 doors. Somtimes even my 3 yr old child opens it when the car is moving for which i have to keep on the child locks on all the time, due to which some one has to open the door for the rear passengers, which is cumbersome.

The Ford dealers are very expensive and so r the spares.

Otherwise its a good car, could have been priced Rs.50000 less, which would have made it a big hit. Overall i am pretty Satisfied.

A great car/SUV and real value for money. It delivers good milage on diesel around 18kms in the city and upto 24 kms on long drives. Very spacious and gives feel of a full-sized SUV😊. The road grip is absolutley great & is a great family car if you consider their safety. It is too bad that Ford has discontinued this model😦. I had always wanted to buy this car but was discouraged by many as it was a Ford, but I liked this model so much that I just went ahead and purchased one and beleive me that I am very satisfied with what I got versus money spent😄.

The parts are a bit expensive but should not be a concern if it was covered on warranty. I would give full ratting for this one and hope that Ford relaunches this model as many of my friends too want to buy it.

Real value for money, good hight, great space, gives feel of a full size SUVToo bad they stopped production
