    DRIVING:
    Its my mate since ages
(1). Buying experience: I purchased my car with Elite Ford (Bangalore). The sales team convinced that I should pick the Titanium Variant (as it has maximum safety and entertainment kit). They also convinced me to go for the Figo, instead of the Ford Classic Sedan (2012). I really appreciate the sales team. The documentation, loan approval & delivery all happened in the same place. I got the car in less than a week. But they didn't give me the car with ribbon, nor I got a proper picture clicked during delivery. Thats something I really missed, as it was my first car. (2). Driving Experience: The most fun I had in this car was behind the wheel. I have driver 1,10,000 kms as of now. The car has adequate torque and excellent mid range. You can comfortably cruise at triple digit speeds all day long. Its can cover long distances effortlessly. It has low ground clearance (at-least the one I purchased), so the advantage is great stability in highway at high speeds. The car has hydraulic steering which offers great confidence in the highway, as the steering is well connected to the wheel. You really feel like you are in absolute control. The handling characteristics of the car is just amazing (just as any old ford). The only reason you might hate this car is that with full-load, the car might touch the bangalore speed breakers (unless you carefully go over it). (3) Details about looks, performance etc.: Looks are subjective. IMHO, the car looks neat. It doesn't have great design or fancy interior. Its built to suit the purpose of making a middle class common man to have a great driving experience, while being pocket friendly on service. The car (top variant) was still almost 1 Lakh less expensive than Swift. The car 's performance is amazing. It has the right amount of power, torque for day to day use and to have solid cruising speeds in highway. Refinement is not the car's strengths. You can hear some amount of the diesel engine's clatter inside the cabin. The quality of plastics used inside is average. But it has an amazing sound system and 4 excellent speakers. I absolutely love the sound system. (4) Servicing & Maintenance: The cost of running ford figo is genuinely low (its lower than my KTM 390's service). I have done all my service with Metro Ford and now recently PPS (Domblur). The standard service cost comes to Rs. 4500 per 10,000 kms. Tyres cost 18 to 20k to replace (if you go with Michelin, Apollo, GoodYear, Bridgestone etc.). I personally recommend the Bridgestone B220. The battery has to be replaced every 3-3.5 years, which cost around 4k, I recommend Amaron. The belt which connects the steering, costs around 12k if done with Ford. Ford always informs me when deals are going on the spare parts, and I get things replaced during that time (like wiper blades, discs, break pads, etc.). The suspension costs less than 6k for Front. The whole suspension kit in front (including rods, suspension etc.) might come to 7 to 7.5k. For all my service, Metro & PPS Ford has free pick-up and drop facility. (5) Pros and Cons: Con's of 2012 Ford Figo are : (A) Not a refined engine, NVH levels are high (B) Horn is not powerful, so change it to a good one which is still within legal DB level for hatchback (C) Headlamps are not powerful at night. I don't use high-beams, but the stock headlamps are has at-least 20-30% less power compared to an equivalent hatchback (like swift). I still have the stock headlamps. I manage it by avoiding night drives or by using fog light for more visibility. (D) There is a tiny bit of turbo lag around 1300 rpm, but it wont affect your day-to-day drives (E) The quality of plastics inside are average. Pro's of 2012 Ford Figo are: (A) Great Handler, Comfortable Seats and a very nice gear box for that year. But, the latest gear box (2018 onwards) is even better. (B) Very stable solid steering even at high speeds, drives like a big car (C) Has enough power to keep you cruising at decent speeds in the highway, even with 4-5 people in the car. (D) Mileage is 13.5kmpl in city and 18.5kmpl in highway. But if you drive a bit more relaxed by keeping the car under 2500 rpm in 5th gear, then you will see the real world highway mileage of 22kmpl. (E) Low running cost and easy availability of spares. The spares are affordable too. (F) You can keep cruising for a long time with great confidence and the breaks are amazing. The ABS makes it easy to break during slippery surfaces. Dual air-bags improve the safety rating (G) Music system is Excellent. This is one of the reasons, why its so hard to find a replacement for my present driving experience. Great cruiser with good music system (F) Good space for backrow and front. Excellent boot space.
