Fiesta was my choice after intense research & lots of test drivers. I love to drive and hence zeroed on Fiesta (TDCI), its driving pleasure beats Verna & Optra hands down, these were the other options available back in 2007. I love the dcars handling so much that after losing one brand new Fiesta in a crash I once again got another one. This car as on Ma5 2011 has done 55,000 KMs. Overall opinion - Great product from Ford. I love it an intend to keep this untill I clock 1,50,000 KM.
In terms of product, There were no major service or replacements required on the car. No issues I have compromised with. The frustrating part of owning a Ford is its after sales service. I have serviced my car in multiple cities as I was travelling and none of the dealers were upto my expectation. Metro Ford, Bangalore comes close and I prefer giving there as they are the least troublesome. My recommendation is that we stay with the car while it is getting services and always get a second opinion from some one on car parts replacements. I feel that all Ford service centres have a target on billing on revenue generation. Ford service advisors seem to be too eager to replace parts irrespective of their condition.
Several comments mention about the issues in build quality. While sometimes its a bad luck but for most people I know dont care for the car. I have driver my car on all surfaces and conditions and have no issues whatsoever in terms of quality. After 55,000 KM I dont hear any sqeaks and rattling noises. Hope this sustains for few more years.
Performane Good initial accelaration, 3rd gear can take speeds form 20 to 100 KMPH. Top speed I hit was 170KMP. Mileage in Bangalore city is 18 per litre and mileage on highway varies according to speed. Speeds of 60 - 70 has got me 26 KMPL, 80 - 100 returns 18 KMPH ane its drops to 15 KMPL at 120KMPH and above.
Suspensions and handling of curves is excellent. Braking on non-ABS car can be better not the best. AC is effective.
Expenses Till Date 4 new tyres (Bridgestone Turanza) after 46,000 KM costing about 16,000/-. Disc replacements ( This was not required, thanks to greedy dealer) 4,000, Right Taillamp replacement after a auto knocked it - 1500/-, Fog lamps fuse replaced @150/- and usual consumables like oils and filters.
I love this car and recommend it to people who love to drive and drive sedate speed. If you are a wannabe racing driver then you might want to opt for other cars. Verna has great power but is a skateboard at curves, this is where you will love the response from Fiesta.
Best in its class handling, ComfortPoor servicing, ABS not optional when I purchased
